Jack Nevada

Festival de Cannes 2013 (Screening tomorrow THE IMMIGRANT starring Joaquin Phoenix)

Recommended Posts

I still have faith in Refn and I am still hoping I'll like this but after so many good movies ( and mind you I thought Drive was arguably his weakest to date ) with his style and approach to filmmaking he was bound to produce a clusterfuck somewhere down the line

I love Gosling but Refn needs to work with Tom Hardy again ... they made magic in Bronson

Hardy >>>>>>>>>>>> Gosling. Gosling is so annoying.

Blue is the Warmest Color is getting raves, though I would like to see more a few more reactions from female critics.  ;)

Speaking of which

First reviews for Blue is the Warmest Color

The Guardian 4/5 http://bit.ly/10mEs1R

"(Director) Abdellatif Kechiche's uncompromising story of an affair makes other films look tame"

Time Out 5/5 http://www.timeout.com/london/film/blue-is-the-warmest-colour

"‘Blue is the Warmest Colour’ is a minutely detailed, searingly erotic three-hour study of first lesbian love. (...) "..some of the most graphically sensual girl-on-girl sex scenes in screen history"

There is a 5 page debate about the reason why you put a winking smiley about the critics of this movie on AD forum.

Really? Kinda flattered. I used the smiley because I've read so many male critics gushing over extremely lengthy lesbian sex scenes. I'm sure it's a great movie, but I honestly just want more female perspectives on it. I wasn't insinuating anything about Sasha or any other female critics.

Well AD Forum generally thinks it is kinda of stupid and easy to think male critics only love the movie because of the graphic lesbo scenes and thus couldn't see the artistic merit of the movie because you know  hetero-sexuals men are pigs that cannot think when aroused by the vision of beautiful naked ladies goint at it.

I'm not saying they can't, and I'm not disregarding anybody's opinion. I think you guys took the winking smiley a lot more seriously than I did.  ;)

EDIT: How did this become fodder over there?
