BSG KITIK WINS!!

A bunch of us said it wouldn't. (It was down to a couple thousand a day before the expansion).

I also said it wouldn't. Now we're thinking it POSSIBLY CAN or is it more like LOCKED?

It's definitely not locked, but odds are very strong.

$40,000 (roughly) over 5 days with 170 theaters is about $47/theater/day. Yesterday it made $70/theater.

Yeah, I forgot it was in so few theaters last weekend. Definitely seems impossible not to get there. Still, I'm not jinxing it... so I'm preparing for anything. :P

If that average drops 50% (not impossible at all with all the new releases), it'll be really, really close.

that $70 daily number was for Monday. Over the weekend it was making $114-159 daily average. $47 really shouldn't be a problem.

Especially when you consider that at the cheap theaters, P&G IS the new release. It probably won;t even need Saturday and Sunday to reach that 49.4 number.

So how many points are we losing?

looks like 15,000, but there are a lot of people in the same boat, so you might not lose too much ground in the standings

By the time actuals come in on July 8th will these films gross at least the number next to it?

A) Before Midnight: 5 mill

B] Now You See Me: 102 mill

C) After Earth: 62 milll

D) IM3: 403.5 mill

E) The Purge: 61 mill

F) Pain and Gain: 49.4 mill

Here's how it works. Every film you choose to go for is worth 2500 points.

If you go for two films, there is no penalty for getting one wrong except that you will not get points for the film or films you get wrong. So if you get 1 of 2 correct, you get 2500 points. Get 0 of 2 correct you get 0 (but lose nothing.)

Here's where it gets interesting. If you choose to go for 3 films and you get all three correct, you get a bonus of 2000 points. If you go for three and you get even 1 wrong, you will lose 5000 points. So if you get all three right, you get 9500

If you choose to go for 4 films and you get all four right, you get a bonus of 1000, if you get 1 or more wrong you lose 8000 points. So if you get all four correct, you get a total of 11,000.

If you go for 5 films and get them all correct, no bonus. If you get 1 or more wrong, you will lose 10,000 points.

If you go for all 6, get all six right, you get a 5000 point bonus. It is already worth 15,000. If you get 1 or more wrong, you lose 15,000 points. So if you get all 6 correct, you get 20,000 points.

But if you got them all right you would have made 20K, so that's -45K compared to if P&G didn't make it.

I'm still kicking myself for missing that MoS-related SOTM. Would have gone all in on it, and that's not just 20/20 hindsight talking. This P&G question helps a little but I hope Baumer doesn't torture me too much with the SOTM make-up next month... ;)
