Plot:

The film begins with David Strorm dreaming. In the dream is of a magnificent city bordered by ocean, although he has never seen the sea in waking life. When he wakes up, he recalls this dream to his sister Perta and inquires about the existence of any such place, to which she replies that, although this city does not exist, it may have existed long ago, before God sent Tribulation. She also warns him to suppress such thoughts, for the other people in society did not have such images in their heads either awake or asleep. Fortunately, David has the sense to take this advice seriously. That after he ventures forth upon a high bank which has sand slopes. While standing think of his dream he had, a girl who introduces herself to David as Sophie inquires what David is thinking of. David lies and says that he is think of his lessens he learned in school about the Fringes were the Blasphemies live which lay beyond the village. Sophie smiles and says that she never think of such boring material. She asks David if he wants to race her to the water. David agrees and the two set off. As they run down the high bank. Sophie suddenly catches her foot in a small crevice. While her snagged foot causes her intense pain, she adamantly refuses David’s suggestion to remove the shoe to facilitate the extraction of her foot. After much convincing she obliges but makes David promise not to tell anyone of what he sees. To David’s surprise, he notices that Sophie’s foot has an extra toe, startled David says that Sophie is a Blasphemy and that he must inform his father the village leader. Sophie pleads with David not to tell his father. David recites the Definition of Man, "And each leg shall be jointed twice and shall have one foot and each foot five toes. And any creature that shall seem to be human, but is not formed thus, is not human. It is a blasphemy against the true image of God, and hateful in the sight of God." Sophie’s head drops and she begins to cry, David suddenly feeling pity for Sophie helps her home, where he is uneasily questioned by Sophie’s tense mother. She demands him not to reveal Sophie’s deformity at any cost, for if people were to discover it they would kill or banish Sophie and her family. David agrees solemnly, sensing the severity behind Mrs. Wender's demands. Being confused by the shock of his afternoon, David wanders home in intense thought. David recites the saying and he is suddenly struck with the full weight of the secret.

The Chrysalids

David gives a voice-over on the fiercely religious society of Waknuk. His home is one of the eldest in the village and is decorated with multiple proverbs and quotes from ancient religious volumes such as the “Repentances” and the Bible, which are carved and burned into wood. We learn that David’s father, Joseph Strorm, is a prominent and devout community leader amongst the villagers. We learn of David’s grandfather Elias Strorm, an evangelistic pioneer from the East, who was one of the first to establish himself in the Waknuk district, along with his submissive younger wife. Joseph’s demeanor is easily explained by his father’s harsh religious views. It is also established that it is the individual responsibility of each individual citizen of Waknuk to be wary of Offenses and Blasphemies - and this often times means purging mutated livestock and crops that carry the title of an Offence. It is also mentioned that David’s father is the farmer whom has been know to purge the most Deviations in the town. It is debatable as to whether or not Joseph’s father is burdened by a surplus of Deviations in his surroundings, or whether he is one of the select few who do not have double standards. It is mentioned that Blasphemies are somewhat of horrific folklore and used to the advantage of the pure people as a means of disciplining young children. This may stem from the fact that on occasion, the deformed outcast Blasphemies have been know to venture into Waknuk to raid the village of crops and livestock for their survival in their unforgiving land of the Fringes where the outcast dwell.

The next morning he goes and visits Sophie, to find that her foot is completely healed. David sees Mr. Wender, Sophie’s father. We learn that there is visible tension between Mr. Wender and David, David believes that these feeling steam from the fact that Mr. Wender does not trust him: this is understandable, since he is the son of Joseph Strorm whose reputation precedes him in the purging of Deviations. However, David understands the severity of the situation Sophie is going through. Later in the day while splitting wood, David got a splinter. Having tried to retrieve the lodged piece of wood from his hand, it began to bleed. He then went to the house to bandage the wound and everyone is too busy to assist him. Cursing under his breath, he mused at how convenient it would be to have a third arm. After this statement, there was a long pause and David’s father was visibly mortified. He harshly punished his son for wishing to be a Blasphemy. Despite his meek responses, all people present were ordered to appeal to God for forgiveness. He is sent to his room for the remainder of the evening, where Joseph gives him a beating. That night, sleep came uneasily to David. He has a horrid dream about one of the ceremonies in which his father purges the farm’s Offences. However there is one distinct difference: instead of a deformed goat or an imperfect stalk of corn, Joseph Strorm is killing young Sophie. David suddenly awakes in shock. He says that it is only a dream and goes back to bed.

The next morning, he sits in the yard and talks with his half-cousin Rosaline; this conversation however is not an ordinary one. David is speaking to her with his mind (telepathically) while she is at home on her own family farm. Uncle Axel, the farm handyman, comes across young David speaking to what seems as nobody. This strikes him as odd and he decides to question the boy. David explains that he is able to speak to certain people through his mind, people far away, well out of shouting distance. Uncle Axel, being one of David’s closest and most understanding relatives, advises him to keep this gift to himself - and not to speak aloud whilst sharing thoughts remotely. David realizes now that this ability is abnormal, comparable to Sophie's extra toes; knowing full well the repercussions of a Blasphemy, he willingly abides to secrecy. Having made this connection, David hurriedly contacts all the people he is able to exchange thoughts with and explains the risk of them being discovered. They all agree to secrecy also. Incidentally, this is the first decision they make unanimously and a sort of group dynamic is established. We learn that the telepaths are all teens, scattered around Waknuk: David and Rosaline, Michael, Rachel and Anne, Sally and Katherine, and Mark.

That night as David walks home he hears the sound of bells coming from the out post at the edge of the town. People all around him begin to freak out running to the citadel which is located in the middle of the town. David asks a woman what is happening. She says that the Fringe dwellers are raiding the village. David runs to the citadel. We see the townsfolk in great fear hiding in the fortress. Outside we hear noises of looting and yelling and then sound silence. The villagers quietly walk outside. They houses are basically striped of everything. David meets back with his family at his house which has been heavily destroyed. David’s father says that they will begin work in the morning to fix the village back up. The next morning, David walks into the barn to milk the cow with was not stolen. He hears a noise and peeps around the corner. He sees a young Blasphemy tied to a post. Joseph Strorm and Rosaline’s father Uncle Angus question the youth. The Blasphemy’s deviation is his long, gangling, spider-like limbs. He refuses to answer the two men. Uncle Angus says that they will let this Blasphemy go back to his home in the Fringes however Joseph Strorm says that they will execute is Blasphemy because he is an offense to God. Uncle Axel says that he will guard the Blasphemy while Joseph Strorm calls the people together. Joseph Strorm leaves. Uncle Axel unties the Blasphemy and tells him to leave quickly. The teen quickly leaves. Uncle Axel tells Joseph Strorm that the Blasphemy overpowered him and escaped. Joseph angrily frowns at Uncle Angus.

The following spring proves to be relatively “Deviance-free”. The village of Waknuk breaks the local “Purity record”. David continues his friendship with Sophie and since she cannot attend school, David takes it upon himself to educate her in matters of Geography, Math and Ethics, which are the principal topics covered in his own schooling. David also often sneaks away to be with Sophie (David’s parents know nothing about her). They much enjoy fishing for shrimps in a secluded stream. David pursues a catch barefoot and eventually coaxes Sophie to do the same, despite her deformity. On one particular occasion, the pair is surprised by the son of the local blacksmith, Allan. David is made uneasy by his presence. Allan inquires as to who the young girl is (for Sophie has had minimal contact with other children) - and then notices something peculiar. On a rock, there is a wet footprint with the imprint of an extra toe. He then deduces that this footprint is Sophie’s and prepares to make the Blasphemy public. In an attempt to stop the boy, David attacks him. After a brief scuffle, Allan suddenly falls limp; Sophie knocked the boy out with a blow to the head. David immediately takes Sophie home; they explain what has happened, and Sophie’s parents see fit to leave town because their daughter is at risk. David asks to go with them but they reluctantly refuse, because his disappearance would raise the profile of their own departure enormously, and have them closely followed. After they are gone, David decides to sleep at the empty Wender residence. The next morning he hurries home, hoping to return to his room early enough to pretend that he was there the entire night. This, however, is not the case. David’s father is livid about his son’ absence, and is in the company of the local inspector. They question David about Sophie and David pleads ignorance. This furthers Joseph’s temper and David is once again detained in his room for a severe beating.

After having suffered a harsh beating from his father for sleeping at the Wender’s deserted house, he is left alone in his bedroom and he talks to his friends who share his telepathic ability he tells them about Sophie and her secret. As he attempts to find sleep, he dreams again of the once familiar Big City. In desperation, David decides to escape from Waknuk. When he awakens the following morning, He is questioned by the Inspector and David is still very evasive. David’s doubts in his culture grow steadily especially with the lecturing of the Inspector about the Devil tempting us from purity during this discourse, they are interrupted by David’s father who announces that the Wender’s have been captured. David is grief stricken and guilt ridden until the Inspector reassures him that the capturing of the Wender’s was purely by chance of routine patrollers.

A few days later, David confides in his Uncle Axel and tells him of his plans to run away, Uncle Axel strongly advises against doing so. Despite David’s persistence, Uncle Axel continues to tell him of the world beyond the county of Waknuk. He explains what lies south Rigo, things that have never been taught to David in school. He then explains that the terrain outside of their familiar territory is plagued with dangerous deviations and that there are unspeakable monstrosities in areas known only as the Black Coasts. The explorer, Marther, gave this name to the lands beyond in his writings during various expeditions particularly one on the Venture, the only known ship to have returned from the land beyond the black coasts with tangible artifacts. He goes on to elaborate on the intense deviations and their nature. Uncle Axel also attempts to comfort David about his gift and explains that there are many different races outside of Waknuk and therefore many different definitions of what the norm is and how each of these different races believes they are of the true image of God. He also points out inaccuracies in the book, Repentances and tries to break David of the mold of thought he is forced into from school and his father’s harsh teachings. The existence of other possible true forms suggests that David and the others who share his gift could just as well be closer to the true image of god as anyone else. He inquires to know exactly how many people David can actually speak to and David explains that there are seven of them. He says they call themselves the Chrysalids.

David’s mother having been pregnant for the past nine months finally gives birth to a child. The child must obtain its certificate of normalcy before it can be addressed as alive and existing. Until the Inspector does so the fact that there is new life in the household remains unacknowledged. Unfortunately, the Inspector is late and his tardiness angers Joseph Strorm. Upon his arrival, he is leisurely and unrushed which is almost as frustrating to Joseph. The new child is found to be perfectly normal and is certified. Her existence is confirmed and Alice Strorm is greeted into the world.

A few days following Alice’s birth, David’s aunt whom he is very fond of, comes for a visit with her own newborn child. The sisters are thrilled at their new children until Harriet Somberly states that she has yet to certify her daughter because she knows her daughter will not meet the normalcy standards. Harriet Somberly desperately attempts to convince sister to allow her to borrow the infant Alice to have her certified instead of her own daughter. While pleading she says that her husband would leave her if she were to produce another Deviation and that her sister is the only chance she has to save the child she loves. Harriet’s sister is disgusted and adamant upon her refusal. She is outraged that her sister brought such filth into her home and orders her sister to leave immediately. Joseph arrives and is equally appalled by what Harriet has done. He chastises her for having sinned and for even having thought of such a devilish way to save a Blasphemy. Harriet leaves and the next day she is found dead in the river.

Scared by the recent turn in events, David develops and intense desires to become normal and never be in a position like his aunt. He begins to pray constantly to lose his ability. On one particular morning, his Uncle Axel calls him out to help him fix a plough. David confides his fears associated with the death of Harriet; however, his uncle reassures him and helps him find reason and acceptance of his ability.

On morning, David is one day working out in the fields and he suddenly feels an unstoppable need to run, his force seems urgent and unlike anything he has ever felt before. The mental cries are painful and persistent and continue until he reaches a river where his sister Petra is about to drown. He successfully saves her and Rosaline also arrives. She also felt the cries and states that the calling was stronger than anything any of them are capable of. Upon their return they are questioned by surrounding people asking how they could have possibly known what had happened to Petra. They casually state that her cries of distress were perfectly audible to anyone and that they are surprised no one had heard them. Perta afraid at what was happening to her agrees with David and Rosaline. That night, David has terrible dreams of a purging ceremony where the deviation to be killed this time is not a crop or animal or even Sophie but David sees his sister Petra at the hands of her father.

The next morning David desperately tries to contact his sister through thought but is unable to. He attributes this to her being so opposed and unaware of her ability and convinced that the only reason that she was able to make such a cry of distress was because she was in a position of such intense danger. David considers openly telling her but decides against it because it would only make him more vulnerable to discovery. This recent development is still very unsettling. David has felt a sense of impending misfortune for some time now. He refers to last year when there was an uncommonly high deviation level his father alone had lost 3 fields as had Uncle Axel a persistent rival of Joseph’s. It is said that there were a total of 35 field burnings due to Deviations. David recalls getting an earful from Old Jacob a villager who has seen his share of years. Old Jacob attributes this recent hike in imperfections to corruption in government and carelessness of the youth. He believes that the changes are the early beginnings of a new age Tribulation. This heightens David’s self-awareness and intensifies the need to be secretive the logic being that with things going wrong, people will have a keep eye for scapegoats for imperfection. This anxiety is slowly abated over time until they discover that Anne, one of the people who can send thoughts like David, is getting married

The man Anne is to wed is not only a person of the norm but he also happens to be Allan the son of the local blacksmith. The same Allan who discovered Sophie Wender’s secret. At first people of the group did not waste time worrying about this because they doubted the realization of the married because of the social differences between their families. Their states rapidly change when the engagement is formally recognized. Despite the vivid warnings against this union, Anne is determined and goes as far as blocking the others out. The remaining people of the group are understandably uneasy being aware of the vulnerability and submissiveness a bride can incarnate and the reputation of Allan based of previous acts. David shares this dilemma with Uncle Axel and he strongly agrees with where David stands. He even suggests that it way even be worth killing Anne to protect their secret. David however refuses this option. Once Anne is officially wed, she severs any ties with everyone else who share the gift of thoughts.

During this, feelings between Rosaline and David blossom and they discover true love. However, since Rosaline is the Daughter of Uncle Angus, there is some familial rivalry, which complicates their love causing them to remain secretive of their bond. A mere week after Anne’s marriage to Allan, he is found dead in a forest with an arrow through his neck. David and the group simultaneously attempt to reach out to Anne who is convinced that they had something to do with Allan’s death. The next day, Rachel part of the group and also Anne’s sister tries to confront her by presenting herself to her door but to no reply. Alarmed, Rachel reaches the neighbor and they break into the home only to find Anne hanging from a beam with a rope around her neck. By her corpse, there is a letter addressed to the Inspector the neighbor finds but since she is unable to read, she assumes it is addressed to the deceased girls family. Rachel opens the letter and finds that it denounces each and every one of the people who are able to send thoughts. The letter is destroyed however tragic the means to an end; the tension breaks. The murder of Allan still remains unsolved. Gossip plagues Waknuk but no one is unanimously suspected.

The spring following the death of Allan is relatively Deviance free there is a grand total of only two fields burned none of which belong to either Uncle Axel or Joseph Strorm. David’s sister Petra begins to understand and develop her new power. She reveals that she is able to hear people further away that David cannot. She officially joins the group. David returns to Uncle Axel who tells David that he is getting sloppy and that people are suspecting things. He mentions Joe Darley. He concedes to having killed Allan because he knew that Anne had told him everything and that at the time he was killed he was on his way to tell the Inspector. When David confers with the others, Michael suggests that they should all be on their guard and be ready to leave on short notice if things go wrong.

That night, David awakens suddenly to the signal of others telling him that some of the Chrysalids have been captured. In a panic he immediately reaches Petra and they meet with Rosaline. With nothing but a horse, they make their escape from the land of Waknuk into uncharted and dangerous territory. Soon after, David is alerted by Michael who has stayed behind. He tells them that they are being followed and should maintain constant vigilance. This warning is proven true when Rosalind kills a man threatening their surreptitiousness. The importance of secrecy is solidified by this and therefore, David and Rosalind decide to travel solely at night.

On the following day, they are reached by the desperate cries of one of the captured Chrysalids; Katherine. We learn that she is being withheld against her will by the Inspector. She is being tortured for information, unfortunately with success. Fortunately however, from what Katharine was forced to divulge, the Inspector is only aware of the existence of David, Petra and Rosaline (and obviously Katherine). Determined, the Inspector states a reward for the capture of the escaped Deviations; he is entirely committed to learning about the ability of the Chrysalids and guarantee that such a blasphemy never occurs again. David and his companions decide to venture into the land of the Fringes to lose the stalking puritans and on Michael’s behalf, he says he will see as to how he can fake the deaths of the escapees in an effort to put an end to the manhunt. When Michael communicates with Petra she asks him why the messages he sends are mixed with those of another mystery person. This mystery person is found to be a girl who Petra feels she can identify with. She tells this person their coordinates and they exchange information. When Petra confers with David he realizes that the descriptions Petra’s new friend’s environment seems to match David’s dreams from long ago. David, Petra and Rosaline feel an elevated intensity motivating their quest.

On their journey, a man on their path confronts the group. Stranded, they resort to knocking him off his horse and ride on in a hurry. Petra continues to converse with the girls from David’s dream city. She explains to them that she is sending help to rescue them and bring them to a safe place but until then, Petra must be protected at all costs. Soon after, Michael tells the group that the pursuit is back in full force. Ironically, they are shot at while traveling and they chose to take cover in the woods. When they think all is safe, they reach a clearing and suddenly from above something unknown and solid falls upon David and makes him loose consciousness instantly. When David regains consciousness, he notices that they have been captured by the Fringe folk and they are being taken prisoner. Despite this they notice that they are now in range with the girl from David’s dreamland which has named Sealand so that now he and Rosaline can now communicate with her instead of just Petra due to her stronger power. When the Fringe people reach their destination David comes face to face with the spider-like teen he once met during the raid in his the village. We learn that Gordon which is his name is David’s cousin and that his abnormality was not discovered until four years after his birth. Thankfully, his mother saved him from his tragic fate but however Gordon still vows revenge on the ways of the people of Waknuk, more particularly his idealist ignorant uncle Joseph Strorm. In an act of brutality, the people of the Fringes decide to keep the two girls traveling with David for breeding purposes. Gordon encourages David not to protest and he is driven outside the Fringe village where he is beaten unconscious again.

Once David resurfaces, he notices he is being dragged but none other that his old time friend from Waknuk; Sophie Wender. Due to her deformity she lives with the rest of the Fringe people and we learn that she loves Gordon but was rendered infertile upon her banishment from Waknuk to assure that she would not reproduce her deviation once released into the Fringes. Therefore she is jealous of the potential the new prisoners have that she doesn’t. Motivated by her own devices she chooses to help David back into the Fringes town to rescue his friends so that they may continue on with their quest. David contacts Michael and Michael notifies him that the team following him, Petra and Rosaline are making slow progress because of the antagonizing attacks from the Fringe people. David plans the escape from the Fringe town with Sophie. At night Sophie creeps into Gordon’s tent where the girls are being held and she rescues them unnoticed. She therefore urges him to tell the girls to make absolutely no noise or sign of alarm once she arrives. Sophie’s plan proves successful and Petra David and Rosalind are reunited. Sophie is seen cleaning blood from her hands and feet upon her exit from Gordon’s tent.

Once escaped, Sophie explains to David that they are safe with her but that they must lay low until the search is off because the Fringe people will surely seek them out once they notice that their two “breeders” are missing. Rosaline is uneasy about trusting Sophie. Jealousy and animosity are very present for Sophie is bitter about the way Gordon values Rosalind for the things Sophie lacks. She therefore wishes she could offer the gift of children to the man she loves. Michael is with the group of approaching Waknukians. Michael hopes that they can count on the help that the girl from Sealand is promising. She tells them that she is roughly 8 ½ hours away. Sophie momentarily leaves the group and upon her return, she mentions that the Fringe people pursuing them are leaving the fight from the Waknuk people to resume their original pursuit yet the Waknuk attack is still in full force. David considers the repercussions if he were to confront his father in battle. Sensing his anxiety, the girl from Sealand urges him to let go of his father because the way of life his people follow is dying and virtually obsolete. Sophie once again leaves for reconnaissance and returns roughly one hour later saying that the Waknuk group is approaching. David communicates with Michael and tells him to stay back from the forefront of the attack to avoid getting hurt so that they can reunite. The strange girl once again contacts the group to let them know that she will be able to arrive an hour earlier than originally planned. Sophie heads back out to see the progress. As she does so, the Fringe people and the Waknuk party clash. In the heat of the battle Gordon shoots Joseph Strorm in the chest with an arrow killing him. The Gordon picks up Sophie who was by his side and they make a run for it. Soon he is pummeled by a downpour of arrows and dies. Sophie attempts to run away and is shot in the arm and neck and dies. During the culminating point in the attack, suddenly a craft appears in the sky. Looming over the combat, the violence ceases and some of the fighters flee, others watch. David calls Michael forth to rescue him for this is the craft from Sealand. The raft expels a form of cobweb-like substance upon the crowd below and paralyses them all rendering them invulnerable. This substance unfortunately also reaches David’s hands and it has the same effect on him. He becomes entirely paralyzed.

Consumed by the web-like substance, David is immobile. He feels Michael (who is also enveloped by the web) worry that perhaps he should have simply run away from the descending craft in fear that it was a trap. He is reassured the Sea woman’s soothing thoughts. The door of the fish shaped craft opens and out comes a figure. She frees Michael. The person is unrecognizable and is dressed in white garments from head to toe. The figure comes into the cave and removes the cobwebs from David, Petra and Rosalind who were also affected by the substance. The woman from Sealand is positively delighted to see Petra and gushes over her potential and explains how they will train her and endorse her gift with all the teachings they can offer. They prepare to leave when Michael asks about saving Rachel from Waknuk, this however is not a possibility seeing as how the craft runs on fuel and only has a scarce remaining supply; just enough to return them to Sealand safely. Rosalind inquires about the other web-ridden people in the field below them and the Sea woman explains that the substance killed them. She explains that is an unfortunate yet necessary price to pay for the survival of their species. Michael gets Petra to reach Rachel for him and he tells her to tell Rachel that they are all safe and that he promises to retrieve her from Waknuk and that they will go to Sealand together. David, Petra and Rosalind embark upon the vessel and watch Michael as they leave. In the midst, they see Sealand horizon and David recognizes it exactly as the land in his dream. They hear thoughts buzzing and realize it’s the entire society conversing beneath them.

Plot: In 1978, while riding home from work with his friend Dennis, nerdy teen Arnold "Arnie" Cunningham spots a dilapidated red and white 1958 Plymouth Fury sitting in front of a house. Arnie makes Dennis stop so he can examine the car, despite Dennis' attempt to talk Arnie out of it. The car's owner, Roland D. LeBay, an elderly gentleman wearing a back supporter, offers to sell the car (named "Christine") to Arnie for $250. Unable to pay the full amount, Arnie gives LeBay a $25 deposit and agrees to return the next day with the balance.

The two teens return the following day, and LeBay invites Arnie into his house to sign the paperwork. While waiting for Arnie, Dennis decides to sit inside Christine, and as he does, he has a vision of the car and the surroundings as they were in 1958 when the car was new. Frightened, Dennis gets out of Christine, and decides that he does not like his pal's new car.

Arnie brings Christine to a do-it-yourself auto repair facility run by Will Darnell, who is suspected of having many illicit business operations. As Arnie restores the automobile, he becomes withdrawn, yet more confident and self-assured. However, he also becomes humorless and cynical, and Dennis is puzzled by the sudden changes in both his friend and Christine. The repair work proceeds haphazardly, and not all of the repairs seem to be done by Arnie. No one has ever witnessed him performing more than minor repairs and routine maintenance on the car. Also, Arnie's appearance improves in tandem with Christine's. When LeBay dies, Dennis meets his younger brother George, who relates to him Roland's past violent behavior. He is also told that LeBay's young daughter choked to death on a hamburger in the back seat of the car, and that LeBay's wife was so traumatized that she apparently committed suicide in its front seat by carbon monoxide poisoning. As time passes, Dennis observes that Arnie is taking on many of LeBay's personality traits.

When Arnie is almost finished restoring Christine, an attractive new student named Leigh Cabot transfers to the high school. She becomes instantly popular and is regarded as the school beauty, and her decision to go out with Arnie puzzles everyone. While on a date with Arnie, she nearly chokes to death on a hamburger and is saved only by the intervention of a hitchhiker who uses the Heimlich maneuver. Leigh notices that Christine's dashboard lights seem to have become glaring green eyes, watching her during the incident, and that Arnie tried to save her by ineffectually pounding her on the back. She begins to believe that she and Christine are competing for Arnie's affection, and she vows to never get into the car again.

Arnie's mother refuses to let him keep Christine at home, so his father buys him a pass for the airport parking lot, thinking that this will force Arnie to use the car only when absolutely necessary. Soon afterward, Buddy Repperton, a vicious bully whom Arnie and Dennis have gotten expelled from high school, and his gang of thugs vandalize the car. This incident unbalances Arnie even more and he plans to fix Christine again; however, as he pushes it through Darnell's garage/junkyard, the car quickly repairs it. He strains his back in the process and begins wearing a brace all the time, as LeBay did, and his relationship with Leigh crumbles.

A number of inexplicable car-related deaths begin to occur around town, starting with Buddy and all but one of his accomplices in the vandalism. Arnie has an airtight alibi in each case, but the police become suspicious of him. Although they find evidence-linking Christine to the scene of each death, none is found on the car itself. Christine is piloting herself to commit these murders and repairing herself after each one. Eventually she also kills Darnell, a police detective working the cases, and Arnie's father.

Arnie becomes increasingly obsessed with Christine, forgetting Leigh entirely, and she and Dennis begin their own relationship and unearth details of both Christine and LeBay's past. They devise a plan to destroy the car and, if possible, save Arnie. Once Arnie is out of town, Dennis and Leigh lure Christine to Darnell's garage and batter it into junk using a septic tanker truck. The remains are later put through a car crusher, and Dennis learns that Arnie and his mother were both killed in a highway accident. Witness accounts lead Dennis to believe that LeBay's spirit - strongly bound to Christine, and through her to Arnie - had torn itself away and caused the wreck.

Four years later, Dennis reflects on these events and what has happened since then. He and Leigh have parted after attending college together, and he is now a junior high school history teacher. He learns about a freak car accident in Los Angeles, in which a movie theater employee - possibly the last surviving member of Buddy's gang - was struck and killed by a car that smashed in through the theater wall. Horror-stricken, Dennis speculates that Christine may have rebuilt herself and set out to kill everyone else who stood against her, saving him for last.

The book says that being called by her real name can only destroy her. She realizes that she has to do research in the girl’s house to find her real name. She tells Tim the situation and asks him to help her, so he asks the girl on a date and takes her to his house. Lisa breaks into the girl’s house and finds all sorts of papers…. Plot: The film opens at a high school in Ohio. We see a talking to Michael and Sam about his classes overseas to Mexico. At lunchtime, we see Michael, Jake, Annie, and Emily sitting at a lunch table. Suddenly a group of students start to shout and rush over to a body lying on the ground. We see it is Jake. They next day they find out that Jake died of an unknown virus and five other students are sick. The school officials decide to shut the school down until further notice.

Dr. Van of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention leads an investigation into seventy-eight disease related deaths, all exhibiting similar symptoms. At first, suspicions of a man-made disease are discussed, only to be discredited by Dr. Jessica, who alleges the swine flu has mutated itself to afflict humans on its own. She says that the victims were all tourist from Mexico. She says that the Mexican government has released a statement that there is officially an epidemic of swine flu in Mexico and Central America. They say that the virus has already entered South America and the USA. Investigations into cures via treatment protocols or vaccines prove fruitless. As the flu spreads, hearings are set up to discuss possible solutions, airports within the nation are shut down, and the national guard is deployed to quarantine off the cities where the flu is most prevalent. Cleveland is the central city for the virus. The metro area home to 2.3 million people has an inflected rate of 1.1 million and the rest have fled or are already dead. Around the nation they set up treatment centers and provide general order. In an effort to quell public fear, Dr. Van appears on a news talk show to discuss the disease; only to find out that the show hypothesizes an over billion people outbreak around the globe. It is an officially pandemic.

Meanwhile, after being separated from their families in the quarantine efforts, Michael, Sam, Emily, and Annie head north from the Canadian line. Arriving at the border, they encounter a choke point manned by National Guard troops preventing anyone from leaving the nation. The four decide to break through by canoeing across. They narrowly reach Canada only to discover that the virus has mutated and gone air born. The virus has entered Canada. At the CDC, the flu is identified as having evolved into an airborne virus and forces the adoption of bio-hazard gear. With the millions of deaths, clean-up efforts are begun to bury the dead. Since there are so many dead, the survivors are forced to burn the bodies in giant pits. The outbreak has eventually crossed Atlantic Ocean where it begins to wipe out the population in East Hemisphere. Order in the Western Hemisphere collapses. Latin America is completely anarchy and the USA and Canada are on the brink. We see Michael, Sam, Emily, and Annie walking through the streets of Toronto. Dead bodies lay everywhere. The air stinks like death. Emily begins to cough and sneeze. She tells them to leave her because she is sick and get to the northern forests where they will be safe. They three say they aren’t going anywhere. Within a few hours Emily is dead and Annie is beginning to experience the flu symptoms. After Annie passes away, Sam and Michael begin to flee to the north. They reach a safe-zone of non-sick survivors. There we see Dr. Van and Dr. Jessica. Michael and Sam are greeted warmly and shown to rooms. Inside of his room, we see Michael beginning to cough and vomit. Sam enters inside. Michael turns to Sam and says he has the flu. Sam looks in fear and shock.

Actors and Actresses-

Plot: The film describes a world in which most of the human population has lost the ability to live on the surface of the Earth. Each individual now lives in isolation below ground in a standard 'cell', with all bodily and spiritual needs met by the omnipotent, global Machine. Travel is permitted but unpopular and rarely necessary. Communication is made via a kind of instant messaging/video conferencing machine called the speaking apparatus, with which people conduct their only activity, the sharing of ideas and knowledge. The two main characters, Vashti and her son Kuno, live on opposite sides of the world. Vashti is content with her life, which, like most inhabitants of the world, she spends producing and endlessly discussing secondhand 'ideas'. Kuno, however, is a sensualist and a rebel. He persuades a reluctant Vashti to endure the journey (and the resultant unwelcome personal interaction) to his cell. There, he tells her of his disenchantment with the sanitized, mechanical world. He confides to her that he has visited the surface of the Earth without permission, and without the life support apparatus supposedly required to endure the toxic outer air, and that he saw other humans living outside the world of the Machine. However, the Machine recaptured him, and he has been threatened with 'Homelessness', that is, expulsion from the underground environment and presumed death. Vashti, however, dismisses her son's concerns as dangerous madness and returns to her part of the world.

As time passes, and Vashti continues the routine of her daily life, there are two important developments. First, the life support apparatus required to visit the outer world is abolished. Most welcome this development, as they are skeptical and fearful of first-hand experience and of those who desire it. Secondly, a kind of religion is re-established, in which the Machine is the object of worship. People forget that humans created the Machine, and treat it as a mystical entity whose needs supersede their own. Those who do not accept the deity of the Machine are viewed as 'unmechanical' and threatened with Homelessness. The Mending Apparatus - the system charged with repairing defects that appear in the Machine proper - has also failed by this time, but concerns about this are dismissed in the context of the supposed omnipotence of the Machine itself.

During this time, Kuno is transferred to a cell near Vashti's. He comes to believe that the Machine is breaking down, and tells her cryptically, "The Machine stops." Vashti continues with her life, but eventually defects begin to appear in the Machine. At first, humans accept the deteriorations as the whim of the Machine, to which they are now wholly subservient. But the situation continues to deteriorate, as the knowledge of how to repair the Machine has been lost. Finally the Machine apocalyptically collapses, bringing 'civilization' down with it. Kuno comes to Vashti's ruined cell, however, and before they perish they realize that Man and his connection to the natural world are what truly matter, and that it will fall to the surface-dwellers who still exist to rebuild the human race and to prevent the mistake of the Machine from being repeated.

Plot: The story follows the plot of Pride and Prejudice, but is in an alternative universe version of Regency-era England where zombies roam the English countryside. Elizabeth Bennet and her four sisters live on a countryside estate with their parents. Mr. Bennet guides his daughters in martial arts and weapons training, molding them into a fearsome zombie-fighting army; meanwhile, Mrs. Bennet endeavors to marry the girls off to wealthy suitors. When the wealthy and single Mr. Bingley purchases a nearby house, Mrs. Bennet spies an opportunity and sends the girls to the first ball where Bingley is expected to appear. The girls defend the party from a zombie attack, and attraction sparks between Mr. Bingley and the eldest daughter Jane Bennet. Elizabeth, however, clashes with Bingley's friend, the haughty monster-hunter Fitzwilliam Darcy.

The Bennets are shaken when Bingley and his companions suddenly abandon his country home and return to the walled fortress city of London with little explanation. When the local militia arrives in town to exhume and destroy dead bodies, Elizabeth becomes friendly with one of the soldiers, George Wickham, who tells Elizabeth that Darcy cheated Wickham out of an inheritance.

Elizabeth's dislike of Darcy turns into full-blown hatred when she learns that Darcy plotted to separate Bingley from her sister Jane. Elizabeth vows to avenge the slight to her family by killing Darcy. Later that evening, she is afforded that opportunity when he appears unannounced at the cottage where she is visiting her newlywed friend Charlotte (who has been secretly bitten by a zombie and is slowly turning into one herself). Before Elizabeth can fetch her katana and behead him, Darcy surprises her again by proposing marriage. The scene culminates in a vicious verbal and physical fight, in which Darcy is wounded. He eventually escapes with his life and writes a long letter to Elizabeth in which he explains his actions. He broke up Jane and Bingley out of fear that Jane had contracted the "mysterious plague" and was about to turn into a zombie. With regard to the allegedly wronged soldier Wickham, Darcy explains that Wickham had attempted to elope with Darcy's younger sister in an attempt to get his hands on her considerable fortune — this was the "inheritance" that Darcy had cheated the man out of. Elizabeth realizes that she has judged Darcy too harshly, and is humbled. Darcy, meanwhile, realizes that his arrogant nature encourages people to believe the rumors about him, and resolves to act more appropriately.

Elizabeth embarks on a trip around the country with her aunt and uncle, fighting zombies along the way. At Pemberley she runs into Darcy, who helps her to defeat a rampaging horde of zombies. Darcy's new attitude and mannerisms impress Elizabeth and lead her to consider reconciling their relationship; unfortunately, all hopes are dashed when it is discovered that her younger sister Lydia has eloped to London with Wickham. The Bennet family fears the worst, but eventually receive word that Wickham and Lydia have married, following an "accident" that has rendered Wickham an incontinent quadriplegic. After visiting the Bennets, the couple adjourns to Ireland. Elizabeth discovers that it was Darcy who engineered the union, thus saving the Bennet family from ruin.

Darcy and Bingley return to the countryside, and Bingley resumes courting Jane. Elizabeth hopes to renew her relationship with Darcy, but his aunt, the Lady Catherine, interferes, insisting that her daughter Anne is a better match for her nephew. Lady Catherine challenges Elizabeth to a fight to the death, intent on eliminating the competition, but Elizabeth defeats Catherine and her cadre of ninjas. She spares Catherine's life. Darcy is touched by this gesture, and he returns to Elizabeth. The two cheerfully wipe out a field of zombies (their first battle as a couple) and begin a long and happy future together, insofar as the ever-present threat of zombie apocalypse permits it.

RAGEElectric's post, to be edited with all films completed plots... just getting it up for now to have a post :-PName: InterconnectedDirector: J.J. AbramsGenre: Sci Fi/FantasyDate: May 13Cast: Ryan Gosling (Wes) , Mark Ruffalo (Serge), Emma Stone (Danielle) , Chris Pratt (Ed), Michael Angarano (James), Jennie (Chloe Moretz), Zach Galafinkas (George), Jake Gyllenhaal (Mick), James Franco (Patrick), Zooey Dechanel (Amy), Jesse Eisenberg (Charles) Don Rodriguez (Pedro) Unknowns (Pedro's Family)Plot:

Wes, Serge, Ed, James, Mick, and Charles all are students at The Academy together, where they hope to explore far-off lands. While they all attempt to focus on their studies, various things keep them from achieving true greatness. Wes cannot stop using his communicator to speak with Danielle, royalty from a mysterious land to the east. Serge jumps into his many projects with passion, but leaves them nearly as quickly. Ed claims he wants to study a whole variety of things, but he'd be content doing nothing; he'll just give the answer people want to hear to end conversations as quickly as possible.James and Charles both are intelligent but their obsession with being correct hinders them more than it helps. And lastly, Mick is too busy chasing and failing to bed the few women that he can find at the Academy. George is somewhat of a student, but he claims that the world has given up on them... or perhaps it is that he has given up on the world? The catalyst for the plot is when Wes receives and urgent message from Danielle on his communicator, in the middle of the night. They discuss the dreams they have both had, and they suspect that there is something going on. Wes nervously hopes that his roommate, Serge, will remain asleep through the noises and flashing of his communicator. Luckily, Serge remains asleep. At first, Wes tries to write these off as just dreams, but when Danielle continues to communicate with him it becomes distracting. He knows there is danger out there, and something must be done. But as he's not graduated from The Academy yet, he's in no position to go out on an adventure. But when Serge begins to have strange dreams too, they have many restless nights. Wes pores through his mind and through many databases along with Serge, Ed, and James, and they are able to identify the solar system they believe is in danger. Charles looks on from a distance, fearing they will violate some regulation or other."We'll never be able to get a ship with that sort of power..." complains Wes."Well, at least not one that we could legally use with out training," comments James."Oh, I'm sure I know of something..." says Serge, with a look that suggests he has been planning this for a while. It turns out that Serge and Mick both know someone who can help, but Mick is only interested in this woman for a potential romance, and the other guys have to keep him at bay as they try to get a ship. Luckily Mick manages to implode with bad one-liners and the guys get a ship. Charles tells James he will keep a watch for anything, while George glares at everyone, scheming his own little plot as well.Pedro comes from a well-off but self-made family that has a lot of income but little wealth. They spend it on unnecessary amounts of ships. Pedro, obese, is ordered by his parents to "go mining. Find a virgin planet and take it's resources." He finds the planet Abba Da-Ja, a rather small planet with a very lush atmosphere that he suspects contains valuable minerals. Around the same time, our crew (Wes, Serge, Ed, James) are running out of fuel, realizing they must stop at a nearby planet. There are very few planets around them that look hospitable, the closet being planet Abba Da-Ja, which has some technology (around 19th-20th century earth tech) but not enough to provide safe landing for the ship. They take the risk and touch down. The ship manages to land on a soft patch of grass, but it's still a bit of a rough landing. and they';re effectively stranded until they begin to get repairs.Immediately when they get out, James begins to analyze the local wild life with his many tools. "No! Stop! You're hurting the trees!" cries out Jennie, a local girl. However, James insists, he must analyze every species for science... to understand everything. Jennie glares at him, and leads the other three to a house that is "nearby." Two miles later, they find themselves at a log cabin, where they wait outside as Jennie knocks on the door. Patrick and Amy are skeptical as they open it, Patrick armed with a rudimentary shotgun, but on Jennie's insistence, Amy convinces Patrick to let the strangers in.They are offered some tea. Wes is skeptical, but as he drinks he discovers it tastes like apple cider, and Ed's tastes like sparking water. The tea can sense what you want at the time and adapt to your tastes. Serge is not picky at all, so the tea keeps changing flavors and trying to make things perfect for him.Not much later, they hear a loud thud and machines whirring. Pedro has landed, as we switch to his mining plot. He is ecstatic about the potential minerals and treasures to be found on this planet, and begins digging, excited as he sees himself rich and in control of everything. The forest reacts badly to his plundering, but he manages to fend some off with advanced tactics and powerful weapons.Inside the cabin, Jennie shows a violent reaction to this, becoming so upset that Patrick decides to go out and see what is happening. James sees the forest reacting negatively to him, and summons an escape pod, solar-powered with solar sails and just enough power for one passenger... a bit slower, but anything to get off this planet. He knows this won't end well, so he sets course for their home planet of Guorrei.Wes, Serge, and Ed stand guard with Jennie and Amy. Against Amy's will, Jennie goes out to the forest... she has to stop the intruders. Ed begins to pace around and look through various documents. Wes goes to stop him, but Amy tells him that it is okay if Ed looks around. Ed is a bit like a caged puppy right now, though.Suddenly, Wes is jarred with a vision of their home planet, and we focus to see it. The school has fallen under the iron fist of George, who has become tired of waiting for his time to come. He managed to trick Mick into working for him, and due to his obsessive rule-following nature, Charles has little that he can do to stop them, as he ends up obsessively following the new rules that George has set in place instead.Wes insists that they must hurry and go, and Serge offers him more tea. The tea has a strange effect on Wes, sharpening the potency of the visions and causing him to hear things as well. He wants to write it off as part of the tea, but he and Danielle begin to communicate telepathically. Her planet is in danger as well... George has found the links connecting Wes and Danielle and is planning to use them to take over the world. While one might expect the fight with Pedro to go on for a long time, instead the ship seems to be of poor construction, and Patrick and Jennie develop a little stick-creation that they jam into Pedro's vessel. Pedro gets back to his ship and is excited about his load of ores, but his ship barely takes off and putters away, barely escaping the planet, as he is only able to recover a few of the ores.James is drifting toward Guorrei, blissfully unaware of what has taken place. In fact, no one is fully aware of what has taken place, with the exception of Wes.After Patrick helps them by developing a fuel that surprisingly, works better than what they'd use otherwise, they continue on their path, heading toward Danielle's home planet, Murtonia. The messages from Danielle become more vivid and disturbing, and Wes fears for the worst. A wild attack by roving pirates surprises them at first, but Ed's surprising talents with the ship's guns makes short work of the fleet. Suddenly, they receive an actual communication from Danielle... not just Wes, but everyone. She and Wes agree that it's not safe to go home yet, and that her planet is in danger. They want to meet to plan things out, but they both fear that their powerful connection could be their demise. She works through her vast connections to get her planet's people to listen to her... they truly value her opinion, some seeing her as some sort of soothsayer or oracle. We now go to James, who finds himself in trouble trying to land on his own planet. He cloaks his pod and ends up finding a safe place. He is able to get in touch with Charlies, who is finally willing to work with James rather than obey every tiny rule that George puts in place. But Charles is still bitter about them all leaving for no real reason, and is quick to scold James, suggesting that them leaving is what caused George to take over in the first place.Mick enjoys his new position in charge of security, with his change in status allowing him the women and power he has always wanted... but at the same time, deep down he seems to subconsciously let James get away with tiny acts of rebellion.Wes and Danielle both try to practice to evolve their telepathic link so others cannot read their thoughts and act on the information. But at the same time, they both dream of a telepathic network where ideas can be exchanged and a greater consciousness can be developed, a sort of hive mind even. The ship receives a low-quality communication from James, using dated technology. It's hard to make out what he is saying, but James states that the planet is in danger and needs help. While there are slight differences between what is really happening and what Wes envisioned, it is enough for him to put value in his visions rather than write them off.Serge says they should go to Abba Da-Ja and get in touch with Patrick and Amy. Wes worries about landing the ship, but Ed says it's not a problem; he seems to have figured out the ship better than before. Wes thinks that the tea they drank brought out dormant powers, but that would be just silly. When they get to Abba Da-Ja, they find a mining crew on the planet already beginning work. Pedro has brought back a team. Not just for the minerals, but for vengeance on Patrick for the destruction of his ship. They seem to have figured out how to tame the forest. Patrick and Amy have moved, to the last peaceful bit of land, and Jennie is forced to live with them as well. Patrick agrees to help the crew if they can defeat the miners.Serge suggests negotiations, but Wes senses Pedro is not going to negotiate, or at least won't compromise anything on his end. A battle takes place on land, with Jennie calling the forest to protect. It's harder this time... the trees have gone dormant, but her incessant yelling awakens some other people and the planet is able to strike down the mining crew, but not without losses; Serge is badly wounded in melee combat with Pedro after Pedro used a dirty trick to get the advantage.Serge insists on going with them, but he stays home with Amy, and Patrick takes his place in the crew. Even though he is hurt badly, Serge still helps Patrick understand the functions of the ship, and Patrick is impressed... these are only things he's dreamed about, until now!Jennie insists on going as well, but Amy convinces her that she needs her help to heal the forest and take care of Pedro... which is somewhat true, but it's more because Amy fears Jennie getting hurt far away.Patrick, Wes, and Ed leave, after stocking up on Patrick's new fuel. But fearing the trip had been a failure, Wes wants to get more allies before charging back in. The best way to do this is to keep in touch with James, but James communications are always delayed and it's not the most recent information. But James informs him that a rebellion is spreading, and that they can probably sneak in.Serge is trying to rest, but something keeps him going; he wants to build another ship, to get the planet Abba Da Ja to help as best it can. The band Dimestore is as generic as you can get. 4/4 beats, misogynisticlyrics about women and occasionally cars, and a lead singer that looks like a cross between Kurt Cobain and an ugly poodle. Well, the last part stands out a bit. They start out playing at local bars, and people think they are pretty good there, impressed by the talent in comparison to other local bands that stumble into bars. Giles Matthewson III is burning through his father's legacy as a music producer, signing flash-in-the-pan "sensations" that turn into embarrassing internet memes or fade away into obscurity without ever even getting a glance from fame. He's drunk off his ass in a bar in Houston, when he hears this band that doesn't sound like they belong in a dive bar. He approaches the band and they take up his offer to go the recording studio. At first, Giles is very optimistic, but when it turns out he's more behind on payment, he tries to rush the band more than they're comfortable with. They start playing some songs, but Giles keeps changing things up. Jeff is okay with his changed, but Da-veed (who insists on spelling his name David and pronouncing it Da-veed) doesnt like how they're simplyfying some of the chord structures, and "Mike Hawk" doesn't like being told to stop making "Mike Hawk" jokes at everyone else's expense. They produce an album, and it is moderately successful, and then Giles has a plan... he gets Walmart employees to convince clueless grandmothers to buy this "rock album" for their kids, and suddenly Jeff is huge and the band is everywhere. Da-veed nearly quits the band, but when he realizes that he doesn't know what to do without his friends, he sticks with it, secretly inserting more interesting basslines into some otherwise generic tunes.A decade later, Dimestore is the BAND OF THE DECADE!(Yes, just like Nickelback...)

She is shocked that Simon and the club's security guard cannot see the killer—a boy called Jace, who claims that the boy he murdered was a demon. The next day, Jace offers to take Clary to meet his tutor, but before she can do so, she receives a distressing phone call from her mother. She returns home to find her mother missing, the apartment trashed, and a monstrous creature, a Ravener demon, lying in wait for her. She defeats the creature by shoving Jace’s Sensor down its throat, but is injured in the process, and Jace takes her to his home. His home is called "The Institute", an old gothic cathedral in New York that humans, or mundanes, can't see, because it is concealed magically by glamour. Here, she recuperates. She also meets Hodge Starkweather, Jace's tutor, as well as his adoptive-siblings Isabelle and Alec Lightwood.

Hodge then acquires the help of a monk with magical powers, called a "Silent Brother", Jeremiah, to discover how Clary is able to see Shadowhunters and why she was attacked. Jeremiah discovers a block on Clary's mind, and takes her and Jace to the City of Bones, where the Silent Brothers attempt to break it. Although the attempt fails, Clary discovers flashes of information, particularly the name Magnus Bane, which, with Isabelle's help, Clary traces Magnus Bane to a party, which she attends with Jace, Simon, Alec and Isabelle. There, they discover that Magnus is the High Warlock of Brooklyn, and he placed the block on Clary, although his attempts to help her remember are unhelpful. During the party, Simon is turned into a rat by a faerie drink, and Jace and Clary go to a vampire-infested hotel to rescue Simon who has been taken home by a vampire.

Clary and Jace are helped into the hotel by a teenager named Raphael. He then betrays them and reveals that he is the leader of the vampire coven that are residing inside that hotel, and soon Clary and Jace are fighting for their lives. They are saved by werewolves who claim they want Clary, but Clary and Jace escape and rescue Simon but get injured in the process.

At the institute Clary and Alec have a fight. Jace takes Clary to the Institutes garden where they kiss. Clary realizes where the Mortal Cup is and she, Jace, Isabelle, Alec, and Simon go and retrieve it. Alec gets injured by a greater demon and nearly dies, but Magnus Bane heals him at the Institute. When Clary and Jace give the Mortal Cup to Hodge, he reveals he's working for a man named Valentine who is meant to be dead. Valentine takes Jace. Clary goes after Hodge, but is kidnapped. When Clary wakes up she finds out Luke took her but for her own safety. Clary finds out Valentine's her father, and Luke and Clary track down Jace and Valentine. Luke and his werewolf pack raid Valentine's lair, but they are ambushed.

During the attack, Luke and Clary get inside, and while Luke is distracted, Clary finds Valentine and Jace. Valentine reveals that he is also Jace's father, making them siblings. Luke then returns to fight Valentine, with Jace's help, but Valentine escapes to Idris, where he has hidden the Cup. Clary retrieves her mother, who is in a coma, and takes her to a hospital. In the meantime, Alec has been healed by Magnus Bane. Clary and Jace meet at the Institute and express their frustration that they cannot be together forever like they once believed.

A Very Amazing(Crazy) Christmas is the story of the Richston family hosting Christmas for the 1st time. . It has always been a dream of Matt's to do this, so he is determined to make it finally make it happen. His wife, Sara is unsure about it, but since he really wants to do it, she is willing to go along for the ride and let the whole family come over for Chritmas. She just hopes that it is everything Matt dreamed it to be. Matt's brother Ted and his family, Matt's parents, and Sara's parents are all visting for Christmas. Sara's parents are coming all the way from London, England to be there. No matter what happens, it will be a Christmas the Richston family will never forget. With everybody under the same roof, it will be one Amazing(Crazy) Christmas for sure.

Their kids, Lucy, Madison, and Sam can't wait to spend Christmas with all of the family, but they never expected it to be as crazy as it turned out to be. Matt's friends, Luke and Dave tried to warn him, but he didn't listen. Sara's friend, Carol told her that it would be fine and stress free. Sara believed her, but it turns out she shouldn't have. When everyone got there 1 crazy thing after another happened. It was like one domino after another that caused Matt to almost regret hosting Christmas. However, just being around family made him happy he decided to do it. He will never do it again, but this will be one Christmas he will never forget.

Some of the crazyness included driving everybody home from the airport in a big downfall of snow and Matt, his brother Ted, and their sons putting lights and decorations up. Matt just keeps trying to make it an amazing Christmas, but to his dismay, it just keeps getting crazier and crazier at the same time. Not even a simple family sleeding outting turns out like Matt expected it too. To make things even worse, Matt forgets to buy his son's present, so he inlist:Ted, his dad, Luke, and Dave to go help him look for it. This is shown in a fifteen minute montage of scenes of all of them looking at diffent places for the toy. Even after all the craziness, none of them have any luck finding it.

Also, in the middle part of the movie, they all sit down together and watch some old Christmas movies. Matt's parents and Sara's parts both brought old movies to show. Everything from big family get together to snowball fights are shown in the movies. This becomes a really emotion scene with everybody getting really sentimental.

It is now Christmas Eve and Sara decideds to cook a family dinner, but like everything else, it doesn't go smothly. She called her friend, Carol for advice on cooking, but that didn't really do her much good as it still didn't go smothly. However, even though she caused the fire alarm to go off & smoke to fill the house, the family still sits down for a good old fashioned, family dinner. While it did go as planned, everyone on agrees that it is a great meal. This brings a big smile to Sara's face. Later, she ask Matt if he got Sam's present like she asked him to a week ago. She isn't surprised at all to find out he couldn't get it as it fits right in with how everything else gone.

While everybody is sleeping, Matt hears a noise, so he gets up to investigate it. To his surprise, he sees a guy dressed like Santa messing with his tree. He graps a frying pan and goes to hit him over the head with it, but the guy turns around and tells him he doesn't want to hit Santa over the head and knock him out. Matt doesn't believe it is really him untill Santa shows him his reindeer and sleigh. Before Santa leaves, he takes a pictures with Matt and tells him got the toy Same wanted and that he put Matt and Sara's name on it. Matt wanted the picture, so people would believe him that he really saw Santa. Santa made fun of Matt for not buying the toy sooner and calls him a damn fool. They have a hilarious back and forth with jokes about each other.

They next day, everybody gets up and Matt tells him what happened. Nobody believes him untill he shows them the picture and then they get mad at him for not waking them up to see him. Then a short montage of everybody opening present is shown. When it is over, it shifts to a scene of evrybody leaving and the Richston family saying their goodbyes. Matt and Sara are happy that everyone is gone, so they can now have some time to relax.

The movie ends with Matt and Sara laying in bed reflecting about what just happen. They both agree that it was crazy, but that if they had the chance to go back in time, they would still do it. This was truly an Amazing(Crazy) Christmas that they will never forget.

During the credits a video is shown recaping everything that happened while the movie's title song: "A Very Amazing(Crazy) Christmas" by Michael Buble plays.

Still working on Barren World. But while waiting...Ready...Aim...Fire!ActionCast: Jason Stratham, Gerard ButlerDirectors: Same as Crank (I know there names as I did a film by them in year 46, but can't remember them off the top of my head right now.)Plot: Alan Scott (Stratham) is a first class sharpshooter. He has now a new mission to stop a crazed maniac named Ben Nelson (Butler) who has robbed tons of banks and has killed tons of folks. Ben proves to be Alan's greatest threat as this man basically knows all the moves Alan does. Meanwhile Alan must figure out his own life as family issues arive. Ben though is always one step ahead of Alan during most of the film. Including a graphic scene where he cuts a man in half. Features tons of non stop action in Stratham films with little plot. Some scenes in real time. The movie ends with a huge shootout where Alan shoots Ben in the head.Runtime: 84 minutes.Rated R for strong graphic violence, nudity, drug use, strong nonstop language and very disturbing images.January 28th2,685 theaters.14M budget.I have a few other fillers i thought of, but this one sounded like one that could come out in January/Febraury. Plot:

On a ship trapped in the ice of the Arctic we see Victor Frankenstein begins by telling Walton (the captain of the ship) of his childhood. Frankenstein was raised by a wealthy family, and was always encouraged to seek a greater understanding of the world around him (in science), whilst remaining in a safe environment surrounded by loving family and friends.

Frankenstein grew up with close ties to Elizabeth Lavenza, an orphan brought to his family who is raised with Frankenstein like a sister. As a young boy, Frankenstein becomes obsessed with studying outdated theories of science that focus on achieving natural wonders. He plans to attend university at Ingolstadt, Germany when a week before departure his mother and sister, Elizabeth, become very ill with scarlet fever. Elizabeth recovers, but Victor's mother dies from the disease. The whole family is in grief, and Frankenstein views it as his first misfortune. At university, he excels at chemistry and other sciences and discovers the secret to imbuing the inanimate with life, in part by studying how life decays. He also becomes interested in galvanism, a technique discovered in the 1790s.

While the exact details of the monster's construction are left somewhat ambiguous, Frankenstein explains that he collected bones from charnel-houses, and "disturbed, with profane fingers, the tremendous secrets of the human frame." He also notes that the dissecting room and the slaughter-house furnished many of his materials. Frankenstein explains that he has been forced to make the monster much larger than a normal man, in part because of the difficulty in replicating the minute parts of the human body. After giving the monster life, Frankenstein, disgusted by and fearful of the monster's appearance, flees.

After his exhausting and secretive efforts to create a human life, Frankenstein is nursed by his childhood friend Henry Clerval and recovers from his illness after four months. He determines to come home when his five-year-old brother William is found murdered. Elizabeth blames herself for William's death, as she let William wear his mother's locket. William's nanny Justine is accused and hanged. In reality, it was the creature who murdered William and then placed the locket into Justine's coat.

After several harsh encounters with humans, the monster becomes afraid of them and spends a year living near a cottage, observing the the De Lacey family, who live there. Through these observations he becomes educated and self-aware, realizing that he is very different in physical appearance from the humans he watches. In loneliness, the monster seeks to befriend the De Laceys. The family had previously been wealthy, but were forced into exile when Felix De Lacey rescues the father of his beloved, Safie. The father, a Turkish merchant, had been wrongfully accused of a crime and sentenced to death. Once rescued, the merchant father agrees to allow Felix to marry Safie. However, he loathes the idea of his beloved daughter marrying a Christian and flees with his daughter. Eager for the freedom of European women, Safie returns. Eventually, the monster tries to befriend the family, but they are afraid of him, and this rejection makes him seek vengeance against his creator. He travels to Geneva and meets a little boy in the woods. In the vain hope that because the boy is still young and potentially unaffected by older humans' perception of his hideousness, the monster hopes to abduct him and keep him as a companion, but the boy reveals himself as a relation of Frankenstein. Upon seeing the monster, the boy yells many insults, angering the monster. In an attempt to reason with the boy, the monster tries to cover the boy's mouth to silence him, but accidentally kills him by asphyxiation. Although not his original intent, the monster takes it as his first act of vengeance against his creator. The monster removes a necklace from the dead boy's body and plants it on a sleeping girl, Justine Moritz, the Frankensteins' trusted servant who is like a member of the family. Justine is found with the necklace and confesses to the murder. She is put on trial and found guilty. The judges at the trial are noted for their dislike of executing people when there is any doubt; however, later, under threats of excommunication, Justine confesses to the murder and is executed.

When Frankenstein learns of his brother's death, he returns to Geneva to be with his family. Frankenstein sees the monster in the woods where his young brother was murdered, and becomes certain that the monster is William's murderer. Ravaged by his grief and guilt for creating the monster who wreaked so much destruction, Frankenstein retreats into the mountains alone to find peace. After a time in solitude, the monster approaches Frankenstein. Initially furious and intent on killing the monster, Frankenstein attempts to spring on him, but the far larger and more agile monster eludes him, leading Frankenstein to compose himself. The monster delivers a lengthy narrative of his short life, beginning with his creation, which fashions an impression of him as an initially harmless innocent whom humans have abused into wretchedness. He concludes his story with a demand that Frankenstein create for him a female companion, reasoning that no human will accept his existence and character due to his hideous outward appearance. The monster argues that as a living thing, he has a right to happiness and that Frankenstein, as his creator, has a duty to oblige him. He promises never to reappear in his life if Frankenstein does this for him.

Fearing for his family, Frankenstein reluctantly agrees and travels to England to do his work. Clerval accompanies Frankenstein, but they separate in Scotland. In the process of creating a second being on the Orkney Islands, Frankenstein is plagued by the notion of the carnage another monster could wreak and destroys the unfinished project. The monster witnesses this event and vows revenge on Frankenstein's upcoming wedding night. Before Frankenstein returns to Ireland, the monster murders Clerval. Once arriving in Ireland, Frankenstein is imprisoned for the crime, and falls violently ill. After being acquitted and with his health renewed, Frankenstein returns home with his father.

Once home, Frankenstein marries his cousin Elizabeth and, possessing full knowledge of and belief in the monster's threat, prepares for a fight to the death with the monster. He doesn't want Elizabeth to be frightened at the sight of the monster, so he asks her to stay in her room for the night. The monster nevertheless kills Elizabeth. Grief stricken by the deaths of his wife, William, Justine, Clerval and Elizabeth, Frankenstein's father dies. Frankenstein then vows to pursue the monster until one of them destroys the other. Over months of pursuit, the two end up in the Arctic Circle near the North Pole.

Here, Frankenstein's story ends and Captain Walton reassumes the telling of the story. A few days after Frankenstein finishes his story, Walton and his crew decide to turn back and go home, since they cannot break through the ice. As Frankenstein dies, the monster appears in his room. Walton hears the monster's adamant justification for his vengeance as well as expressions of remorse before he leaves the ship and travels toward the Pole to destroy himself on his own funeral pyre so that no others will ever know of his existence.

The Seventh Seal

Rating: PG-13

Theaters: 3,572 theaters

Budget: 140 million

Running Time: 127 minutes

Studio: Guernica Films

Director: Ridley Scott

Score: Hans Zimmer

Original Song: "Faith" by Delta Goodrem

Cast:

The Knight - Tom Cruise

Jeremy - Russell Crowe

The Death - Ed Harris

Jim - Jim Sturgess

Mia - Michelle Williams

Jon - Ryan Gosling

Blacksmith - Harvey Keitel

Blacksmith's wife - Naomi Watts

Raval - Michael Fassbender

Girl - Dakota Fanning

Witch - Patricia Clarkson

Plot:

Battle: Set during a single day in the Middle Ages, the film concerns the philosophical quandary of a knight (Tom Cruise) who is traveling home to his wife and his castle after a decade of fighting in the Crusades. The Knight's earthy squire, Jeremy (Russel Crowe), still prays daily, but Cruise himself has lost his faith in God, having witnessed too much war, superstition, and the ravages of the currently rampant Black Plague. The film starts off with an epic, half an hour battle sequence, no dialogue, just amazing set and sword combats, graphic, brutal scenes with an epic score.

Playing with Death. After the battle, The Knight and Jon are on the way home. The Knight is exhausted and completely lost in his own world, his face shows desperate emotions. While he travels, he is visited by Death (Ed Harris), who has arrived to take both knight and squire to their end. Cruise, however, convinces Harris to play him a game of chess: if he loses he'll go with Harris; if he wins, Harris will leave without him. Harris agrees, noting that he never loses, at anything.

As the two play their game, Cruise quizzes Harris on the existence of God, but is met merely with a shrug and silence on this point, frustrating the Crusader, who wishes this knowledge above all else before he dies. Play is interrupted while the Knight continues on his journey and for Harris to go about his work, bringing even more virulent plague to decimate the area. Meanwhile, he continues to stymie Cruise's metaphysical questions.

Traveling players. Also traveling through the country is a group of players who specialize in religious tableaux. These include Jim (Jim Sturgess), a juggler who has visions of the Virgin Mary; his wife, Mia (Michelle Williams), with whom he has a small child; and Jon (Ryan Gosling). Gosling, a womanizer, seduces the wife (Naomi Watts) of a blacksmith (Harvey Keitel) and leaves with her while the smith is watching the players' performance.

Later, Jeremy discovers Raval (Micheal Fassbender)—the man who originally convinced Cruise to fight for Christendom in the Holy Land, now himself an atheist—as he is looting the bodies of plague victims and attempting to rape a young girl (Dakota Fanning). Chased away by Crowe, Fassbender goes to a local pub, where he and the cuckholded Keitel threaten the simple-minded Sturgess, forcing him at knifepoint to stand on his head, jump on a table, and dance like a bear. Crowe enters, cuts Fassbender's face with his knife, and takes Sturgess with him away from the inn. Later Cruise comes to the actors' campsite, where he is given strawberries to eat by the kind Sturgess and Williams, and briefly forgets his own despair. Journey resumes. Joined by Keitel, Sturgess, Williams, their baby, and Fanning, Cruise and Crowe continue on their journey. So does Harris, strewing sickness across the land. Survivors whip themselves so that God will spare them, hoping to atone for their sins through self-flagellation.

Couple's reunion. When Cruise and his company meet the rake Gosling and the smith's wife, the actor and the smith square off, apparently ready to fight to the death over the woman. However, both men back off. Gosling then fakes his own suicide, reuniting the married couple.

Helpless against death. Afterwards, Harris comes and puts an end to Gosling in earnest. The rest continue on, and come across a woman who is being burned as a witch (Patricia Clarkson). They try to save her, but cannot. Traveling on, they find Fassbender dying of the plague and again can do nothing to help.

Ongoing game. Meanwhile, the Knight is losing his ongoing game of chess with The Death, so he kicks over the board before his opponent can take his queen. Confused, Harris hurries to find the scattered chess pieces. Sturgess and Williams race away. Cruise and Crowe travel on to his castle, where Cruise's wife (Miranda Otto) waits for him. Harris follows them, entering the castle as the Knight prays to God for mercy, while his Lady reads from Revelations (from which the film's title quotes).

Death's triumph. In the morning, Sturgess, Williams, and their baby have been spared; the plague has passed them. Sturgess looks up to see Harris leading Cruise, Crowe, Keitel, Watts, Fassbender, and Fanning in a dance across the crest of a hill, the figures silhouetted hand-in-hand in a chain against the dawn sky.

Conclusion: This is a very balanced film. Starting off with a gazzling half an hour of action, the film then builds up a slow pace with atmospheric music and beautiful scenery. Then the plot thickens with a truly an ensemble cast, including powerhouse performances by Ed Harris and Michael Fassbender and introducing strong female characters. Most importantly the chemistry between the two leads, Cruise and Crowe is spectacular, but the person, who steals the show in his small role is Jim Strurgess with his comedic performance. The sharp dialogues keep the audience entertained through the otherwise very dark journey, which ends up with an iconic sequence.

A bank. A dozen people wait in line. Tellers are typing away, helping customers, and occasionally calling forward new ones. Suddenly two men run into the bank, ski masks on their heads, shotguns in their hands. These men were Carver and Adam. Carver fires off a blast from his gun into the air. Everyone screams and begin to panic. “Everybody on the floor! Now!” he exclaims. As everyone complies, he and Adam scurry over to the tellers’ desk. “I don’t know if those police button thingies under the desk are real, but if they are, I’d advice you all not to press it,” Carver says, waving his gun around. “Now go get me all your money,” he continues. The tellers all hurry off. “Follow ‘em,” Carver says to Adam. Adam follows the tellers as they go to collect the money. Carver turns to the dozen people laying on the ground, scared for their lives. One man repositions himself, and in an act to show his menace, Carver goes to kick the man. But the man is fast, grabbing Carver leg and causing him to stumble. Carver curses and kicks the man away, then another kick to the head for good measure. He walks away, trying to play off his slight embarrassment. Suddenly, blue lights flash outside. Carver walks over to a window and peers outside. More lights were flashing than there were civilians inside. Beside each cop car were two armed police officers. At that sight, Carver lets out a long, “Shhhhhiiiiiiiii…….”

Quick cut to another bank as this is going on. Four men wearing presidential masks (JFK, Nixon, etc) storm inside the bank. Three of them were the Brigand Boys, leader Bobby, his brother Pete, and their shy cousin Danny. Joining them was the wily Vincent Parks, clearly more pumped up then the rest. “Get on the f***ing ground!” Vincent exclaims to everyone, slapping a man in the face with his pistol. Danny pats them all down as they lay on the floor. Pete watches them all, pistol at the ready. Bobby and Vincent move on to the tellers’ desk. Bobby tosses a large duffel bag to them. “We need everything,” he says in a calm, but threatening voice. Vincent tosses more bags over. “And make it fast!” he yells. Bobby sighs as he looks at the overly excited Vincent. “Go help with the money. And be careful not to get whatever your pants are leaking with all over it. Look at you. You’re more excited now than you ever were with a woman,” Bobby snidely remarks. “Trying to tell stories about your…premature past? It’s ok. I don’t personally know what you’re going through, but I’m sure there are many others suffering from the same problem,” Vincent replies. “Get the f***ing money before I put a bullet in your head,” Bobby retorts. Vincent laughs and jogs off.

Back at the other bank, the squad cars are still lined up outside, waiting to make their move as Carver and Adam are holed up inside. The police captain listens in and turns to an officer. “Sh**. There’s another robbery going down at Jefferson across town. We gotta get units over there,” he says. “Sir, everyone’s here,” the officer replies.

Bobby turns to Danny and Pete, who are holding the laying civilians at gunpoint. “Please, don’t hurt us,” a man name Winston pleads. “No promises,” Bobby replies. “At least let the children go,” Winston continues to plead. “And what good would that do me? Paper reads, ‘Man kills ten in bank heist, but has heart. Let’s children go’. How touching,” Bobby replies. We see as this conversation goes on, a man named Owen Thanks is slowly crawling behind Bobby. A woman stares at him, horrified at what might happen to her, and what the hell this crawling stranger was doing. Owen suddenly gets up and tackles Bobby. This scuffle doesn’t last long, as Pete and Danny quickly pull Owen off. “Shouldn’t have done that,” Bobby says, quickly raising his pistol and shooting Owen in the shoulder. Owen falls to the ground, letting out a scream and a flurry of curses. Blood pours from his shoulder as he squirms around on the ground, moaning in pain. Bobby turns to Winston. “You want next?” Bobby asks. “N-n-no, sir,” Winston stutters. Vincent’s voice then calls out to them. “Hey! Got the money! Now let’s get the f**k outta here!” Pete and Danny race off to help carry the money. Bobby grabs Winston by the collar of his shirt. “Come on. Let’s go for a walk,” Bobby says. “No, please! Don’t hurt me!” Winston begs as he is pushed toward the exit, acting as a human shield for whatever lurked out there. Vincent, Danny, and Pete exit first, dragging the duffel bags filled with cash. Bobby holds Winston with one arm, outstretching his pistol with the other. A lone cop car is waiting. Officer Matt Crane has his own pistol raised. “Drop the guns, the money, and the hostage. Now,” Crane orders. “Can’t we just make this quick? I’ve got dinner plans,” Bobby retorts. “I’ve-” Crane begins, but is pumped full of bullets into his chest by Bobby. A van comes screeching up. The driver, Shaw, jumps out, then slides the doors open, helping load the money inside. “Things seem to be going smoothly,” he says as he hefts the bags into the van. “Perfectly,” Bobby replies, tossing Winston into the van and helping load the money. The men smile at each other as they pile their money in, ripping off their masks. “Stop,” comes a voice from behind them suddenly. They listen, a bit frozen from surprise. Bobby turns to see one of the tellers standing behind them, Officer Crane’s pistol in her hand. “Put that gun down before someone gets hurt,” Bobby says, calm, but his demeanor is slightly cracked. “Someone like you?” the teller asks. “Honey, there are four other guns behind me. “It’s not me I’m worried about,” Bobby replies. “You shot a man. He’s bleeding to death. You took another. You can’t do this,” the woman pleads. “We could let the hostage go,” Danny shyly suggests to Bobby. Bobby turns to him, then Winston, who was sitting nervous in the back of the van. Bobby closes his eyes and lets out a long sigh, then turns and shoots the teller right between the eyes. The second the gun is fired, everything changes. Demeanors shift. “Holy s***! Why did you do that?” Winston exclaims. “She saw our faces,” Bobby replies, hopping into the van. “Come on! We’ve got to go. Before the real cops show up,” Bobby continues. The van doors slam shut and takes off. Cut to black.

We hear police sirens roar as the black screen reads…

TEN YEARS LATER

FRIDAY

(this scene is all one continuous shot)

The screen is blank as a man screams out. Suddenly the picture smashes back in and Officer Matt Crane (out of uniform) is dragging a screaming Vincent Parks down the steps. Blood is pouring out of his side from a multiple knife wounds. He pleads for his life. “Don’t let me die! Please don’t let me die!” he mumbles, but with earnest desperation, tears streaming down his face. Matt drags Vincent over to his squad car and opens the doors to the back seat. He slides in first, then pulls Vincent in. “Just lay there. I’ll take you to the hospital. You’re going to be ok,” Matt tries to assure him. He exits out the opposite door and shuts it, then runs around shuts the first door. Then back around again to the driver’s seat. It’s clear he’s panicking, not prepared at all for the events that unfolded. He starts the car and quickly speeds off. The camera stays on the scene, leaving us staring at the blood streak across the sidewalk from where Vincent was dragged.

SUNDAY

Thanks. Come Again

Matt Crane walks up to a bar and waves to the bartender. The bartender slides him a drink. They’ve made this exchange several times before. Crane chugs it slowly then puts down the empty glass, letting out a long sigh. By his attitude we can either assume he’s completely over the events that took place on Friday or assume that we’ve jumped back to the previous Sunday, before Vincent was shot. If you guessed the second option, you’d be right. “No s**t!” exclaims a voice from behind him. Owen Thanks races over to him, pulling Crane into a very one-sided hug. “Officer Matthew Crane. Almost didn’t recognize you without the uniform,” Owen says. “I can go change if you want,” Crane says. “I’d feel weird asking a grown man to change,” Owen replies. “Good. Because I had no intention of changing,” Crane retorts coldly. Owen doesn’t pick up on Crane’s disinterest. “Man, what’s it been? Ten years? How ya been?” Owen asks. “Clean,” Crane replies. “Good for you, buddy. Straight and narrow. I always wondered how you got roped into that bulls**t anyway. I’ve been keeping it straight myself….mostly. When a man gets accustomed to such a lavish lifestyle, it’s hard to turn back. You know what I mean? What’s a cop make anyway? Never mind. That’s personal.” We’re quickly getting the sense that Owen likes to talk. “So you keep in touch with anybody?” Owen asks. “I’ve got all their numbers, but I haven’t spoken to anyone since I got my cut,” Crane replies. “Take the money and run. Nice approach. I’m more of a suck the teat dry kind of guy myself,” Owen retorts. “No contact with anyone in ten years. And then look what happened today,” Crane continues. “You visit a bar frequently enough, you’re bound to catch someone eventually. Nobody’s dry. And I mean nobody,” Owen says, taking a long swig of beer. “Your self flattery is a nice character trait and all, Owen, but I’m not talking about you. I got a visit from Danny Brigand earlier today,” Crane states. “No s**t? Little Danny Brigand? How is he?” Owen asks. “Scared s**tless. He says Bobby and Pete are both dead. Murdered in their own homes within a week of each other,” Crane replies. Owen curses. “He thinks someone’s after the Brigands. Wanted me to help him out. I told him two people just equals a coincidence,” Crane continues. “But if three equals pattern, you don’t have much pussyfooting room,” Owen says. “True. But Bobby and Pete pissed off a LOT of people. Danny’s shied away from that kind of stuff ever since he came into his own mind,” Crane replies. “Well maybe you’re right,” Owen says, picking up his glass and holding it toward Crane. “To Bobby and Pete,” he says. Crane clanks his glass against Owen’s and then they both guzzle down their beer.

Some time has passed now. Glasses left empty, a right-mind gone with them. Crane was beginning to loosen up and what started out as an awkward run-in has turned into an in-depth catching up. “So what do you think? The mental lacking of the police department, or the sheer brilliance of our plan?” Owen asks. “Our plan? Are we taking credit for it now?” Crane retorts, laughing. “I’ve been taking credit for it for the last ten years,” Owen replies, eying a woman across the bar. She eyes him back seductively. “But the police life’s treating you well?” Owen asks. “Police life would have been the only life for me if I had it my way. But life can twist your arm into unappealing situations,” Crane replies. “I understand, man. Hard times, hard measures. Speaking of hard, that woman over there’s been eyeballing me all night and it looks like she has a friend,” Owen says. “Sometimes I wish that bullet was a bit more centered when it hit you, Owen,” Crane retorts with a laugh. “Don’t be a prude. When was the last time you’ve been with a woman?” Owen asks. “A year. Maybe two. I just can’t seem to get Sheila out of my head,” Crane replies. “I’m not asking you to forget about Sheila. I’m just saying you need to repress the thought of her way back into the subconscious of your brain. You shouldn’t forget her. You just shouldn’t remember her….on a constant basis,” Owen says. Crane just looks down, shaking his head. “You know if you just got one more drink in you I could convince you to say yes and the two of us could ravish those lovely ladies over there. Together or separate. I won’t be picky with their desires if you aren’t,” Owen continues. “I guess I won’t be taking another drink then,” Crane replies. “Suit yourself there, friend. Now if you’d excuse me, I’m going to go f*** that girl,” Owen says and walks off. Crane watches him walk away, shaking his head. Grinning at Owen’s audacity.

Owen takes a seat next to the eyeballing girl. “Owen Thanks,” he says. “Lisa Loeb,” the girl replies. “Ok, it’s gonna be like that, huh?” Owen asks with a sly smile. “No, I’m serious. People never believe me when I tell them my name,” Lisa replies with laugh. “Well fortunate for you, I’m a huge Lisa Loeb fan,” Owen says. His smile and mannerisms ooze charm. We can tell he does similar walkthroughs like this on a regular basis. “You don’t strike me as the type,” Lisa replies. “You said that I was naïve and, I thought that I was strong. I thought, I can leave, I can leave, oh! But now I know that I was wrong. Cause I missed you!” Owen sings loudly. Lisa covers his mouth with her hands, laughing as people around the bar begin to stare. “Okay, Mr. Thanks. You come over taking a seat which I very well could have been saving,” Lisa begins. “Were you?” Owen asks slyly. “No… You take the seat and then begin singing loudly and get everyone’s attention. But most importantly, you’ve got mine. Question is, what are you going to do with it?”

Cut to a dark bedroom. Owen and Lisa are ripping each other’s clothes off. Owen throws Lisa onto the bed and begins kissing her, quickly making his way down her body when she stops and sits up. “S**t. Laurie,” she says. “Who’s Laurie?” Owen asks. “My friend. I left her at the bar without telling her I was leaving,” Lisa says. “She can take care of herself,” Owen replies. “But you don’t know Laurie. She’ll think I was kidnapped or murdered or something,” Lisa says. Midway through that line, Owen was already back down below Lisa’s waist, fast at work. “Do you really want to go all the way back there just to tell her you left to f*** some charming stranger?” Owen asks. Lisa smiles and lays back, “No.”

Owen and Lisa lay wrapped up naked in each other’s arms. Lisa turns and repositions herself, practically laying on top of him now. She runs her fingers across his chest then stops at the scar on his shoulder. “How did you get this?” she asks, genuinely interested. “Do you remember ten years ago? The famous Jefferson bank robbery?” Owen asks. “No. I was only eight then,” Lisa replies. Owen laughs. “I honestly would have never guessed that,” he says. “I matured fast,” Lisa replies. Owen glances over her naked body and then with my smile says, “I can see.” “So the bank?” Lisa says. “Right. The bank. Four men burst into the bank. Told us all to get down. Not to move or say a word or they’d shoot us dead. Three of ‘em went to the tellers to collect all the cash. The other watched over all us innocent patrons. And he was watching some more than others. Specifically this girl. Probably around eighteen, like you. He was all over her, talking all sweet-like, touching her in places she didn’t want to be touched. And I looked around and saw everyone just watching this girl get poked and prodded right in front of them. As the man got more and more physical I just couldn’t take it anymore. So I leaped up and tackled him. Knocked his gun out the way and got on top of him. I wanted to bash his face in, but decided against it. So instead, I grabbed his right hand and snapped every single finger backward. Then I took his left and did the same. Told him he better think twice about touching another woman like that again. Unfortunate for me I forgot he had three friends with him. They shot me in the shoulder and took their friend and their money and ran.” Lisa is completely enthralled by this tale. She was putty in Owen’s hands. Suddenly there’s a knock at the door. Owen gets up, completely pleased with himself over his little story. “Who the f*** is knocking on my door at this hour? Interrupting our wonderful connection?” he asks with a smile. “I don’t know, but you shouldn’t answer. You should stay here with me,” Lisa says, trying to pull him back into bed. Owen just smiles at her and goes into his bathroom, grabbing a robe to cover himself up. He walks out of the bedroom as the knocking continues. He passes through the kitchen, grabbing an apple, then continues on through the living room. He takes a bite out of the apple and peers through the peep hole. A smile of recognition crosses his face. “Hey! Good seeing you, bud, but I’m kinda in the middle something, er, someone at the moment,” Owen begins as he opens the front door but his cut off when a bullet flies through him. This bullet was definitely more centered than the last, bursting through his bare chest, blood squirting out everywhere. He collapses to the floor, dead. The camera stays on him as the blood flows from his wound and soaks into the carpet.

TUESDAY

The Key to the Kingdom

An old van drives down a dark road in the middle of the night. The driver is Jared Plank and he’s wiping the sleep from his eyes as he checks the time. 12:07. He yawns big as he rounds a curve, when the headlights light up a figure standing in the middle of the street. Jared curses and swerves out the way, then pulls to a stop. “What are you doing? Keep going!” comes a voice from the back of the van. Jared looks back outside, not seeing the man. “Did I clip him or something?” Jared asks. “Who cares? He’s standing in the middle of the f***ing road after midnight. He deserves to get squashed,” the voice in the back replies. Jared sighs and goes to put the van back into drive when out of nowhere, five men wearing burlap sacks over their faces rush the car. They all carry shotguns and are yelling for everyone to exit the vehicle. Jared gets out and one of the attackers shoves him to the ground. “What the f*** is going on?” Jared demands. “We’re taking the coke,” the masked attacker says. Suddenly the back doors to the van slide open and two men jump out, both blasting Jared’s attacker in the back with their own shotguns. Blood, guts, and bone fly away as the blasts nearly rip the body in half. The other attackers are quick to shoot back, quickly taking out the two men. The contents of the back of the van was filled with what seemed like an endless amount of bags filled with cocaine, which were now all caked in blood. Jared is slowly trying to back away as the attackers marvel at the loot. Then he remembers something. His hand goes to his calf where a small pistol was strapped. As soon as he removes it from it’s holster he hears a cocking noise. Jared looks up and is staring down the barrel of a shotgun. Before he can even finish saying the word please, blood, brain, and bone are flying everywhere. The shooter, satisfied that everyone had been taken out, removes his mask to reveal it was the bank heist’s getaway driver Shaw. Shaw goes back over to the others, still marveling at this treasure trove of coke. “We’re so f***ing rich,” one man says. Another grabs a small backpack and peers inside. He hands it over to Shaw and we see it‘s filled with cash. Shaw kisses a key attached to a chain around his neck as he stares at the cash. “You sure this will suffice? You just wait a few weeks and your cut of the coke is worth quadruple that,” the man says. “No, this is good. I just needed the quick cash,” Shaw replies, putting the backpack on his back. Then everyone stops. They all turn their heads toward a noise coming in the distant. A few seconds later and they could see the flashing lights through the trees. It was a cop. Everyone curses. “Get the bodies out the road!” Shaw exclaims. The men quickly rush out into the street, moving the two back seat coke smugglers quickly. They have to carry their fallen comrade off the road in pieces. Shaw moves over to Jared’s headless body and grabs him by the legs, pulling him quickly over to the side. Everyone notices the entrails, blood, and chunks of brain still sitting in the street, but there was nothing they could do about it now. They run into the woods and hide, watching as the cop car speeds down the road. It slows down slightly when it gets to the carnage, causing everyone to catch their breath, but it then speeds away just as fast as it arrived. “Why didn’t it stop?” one man asks. “Don’t question it. Just be grateful,” another man replies. “Maybe they didn’t notice,” yet another man chimes in. “No. They slowed down to take a look. They noticed,” Shaw replies. “Then why the f*** didn’t they stop?” someone asks. Shaw turns to him and says, “Now that I don’t know.”

Shaw enters his small apartment and heads straight for the bedroom, collapsing onto the bed. As he rolls over to get comfortable he looks down at his blood covered shirt. He sighs and takes it off, then falls onto his back. He turns to look at his clock. Three in the morning. He closes his eyes and when he opens them again, the clock reads nine.

Shaw groggily gets out of bed, then heads straight to the shower. He emerges from the bathroom with a towel tied around his waist. He grabs some underwear and slacks and slides them on, then heads for his closet to find a shirt. All that was there were empty hangers. He moves to a hamper filled with dirty clothes and rummages through it, smelling a few, then settling on the cleanest. He puts it on and buttons it up, trying unsuccessfully to smooth out the wrinkles. He sighs and looks at himself in the mirror. He didn’t look terrible, and that was good enough.

A few hours had passed and Shaw pulls up to a small house in an average neighborhood. He grabs the backpack filled with drug money and walks up to the front door, looking all around at anyone who might be watching. He rings the doorbell twice then does a short rhythm knock on the door. The door opens and a man named Tutone opens the door. “Shaw! I wasn’t expecting you for another hour,” the man says. Shaw just nods and hands him the bag. “Come in, man,” Tutone says. “I can’t. Just take your five percent off the top and get it back to me as soon as possible,” Shaw says. “Yeah, of course. No later than tomorrow night,” Tutone says. “Make it tonight and you can take seven,” Shaw replies. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll leave it in the usual spot. Good seeing you,” Tutone says. “You too,” Shaw replies, turning to leave.

Shaw pulls his car to a stop and walks over to a payphone. He dials a number and a woman answers. “Hey, Allie, how are you?” Shaw asks. “What do you want, Shaw?” Allie replies coldly. “I just want to talk to Jamie,” Shaw says. Allie says and calls for Jamie to come to the phone. “Dad?” comes a young boy’s voice. “Yeah, Jamie. How are you?” Shaw asks. “When are you going to come play with me?” Jamie counters, showing the short attention span of a young child. Shaw laughs. “I hope soon. What do you want to play?” Shaw asks. “Cops and robbers!” Jamie replies enthusiastically. Shaw laughs again. A giant grin is on his worn face the whole time he talks to his son. The love for him more than obvious. “You like catching the bad guys?” Shaw asks. “Yes! And finding treasure,” Jamie replies. “Well what a coincidence because I just found this piece of paper that has all these clues on it,” Shaw says. Suddenly Allie is back on the phone. “Shaw, what are you doing?” she asks. “Trying to be a part of my son’s life,” Shaw replies, the smile immediately diminishing from his face. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea,” Allie replies. “Allie, just give me a chance. He’s my son!” Shaw exclaims. “Goodbye Shaw,” Allie says coldly, hanging up.

We cut to a dimly lit strip club where various naked women are dancing seductively on stage. The camera pans around the club before finding Shaw sitting alone at the bar, downing his sorrows in alcohol. A man takes a seat next to him. After ordering a drink he introduces himself. “Fetters,” the man says, outstretching his hand. Shaw shakes his hand and gives his own name. “So what brings you here alone, not even observing the talent?” Fetters asks. “I’m meeting a few people, but they’re late. As usual,” Shaw replies. “Yeah, I know how that is. You like movies?” Fetters asks. “I’ve seen a couple,” Shaw replies. “Right, of course. I’ve always loved those cop dramas, myself. More grounded, but thrilling. Something about people actually doing that s**t on a regular basis always appealed to me. But they’re not one hundred percent accurate, you know? Like in the movies a cop might feel a bit sympathetic toward the man pointing a gun at him and shoot him in the hand or something to disarm him. In reality, if a cop pulls his gun he’s gonna use it. And he’s shooting to kill,” Fetters says, eying Shaw as he says it. “My friends should be here any minute,” Shaw says, a bit uncomfortable. “Right, of course. Don’t want to intrude. Just a nice chat with a stranger,” Fetters says, then walks off. Shaw watches him as he leaves. As soon as he does, two familiar faces enter. Vincent Parks and Winston enter the club, waving to Shaw. The trio enter a booth to have a slight bit more privacy.

Winston and Vincent both look like hell. Scratches cover their faces and hands. “What the f**k happened to you two?” Shaw asks. “It’s a long story. I don’t feel like getting into it,” Vincent replies. “Ok. Keep your secret,” Shaw says. “Real quick, Shaw, I wanna get your opinion on something,” Winston says. “Shoot,” Shaw replies. “Ok, so what’s the deal with Winnie the Pooh? He’s a Pooh? What the f**k is that? And they call him Pooh like that’s his name and he’s a bear. It’s confusing,” Winston rants. “Oh s**t. Not this again,” Vincent laughs. “He’s Winnie the Pooh Bear. They call him Pooh for the same reason you call me Shaw and you call Crane Crane,” Shaw says. Winston is clearly taking his time processing this in his head. “Ok, now can we get to the reason I wanted to meet with you guys?” Shaw asks. “Cause of the murders,” Vincent replies. “You know?” Shaw asks. “Of course I know. My dad’s a senator. I know everything that happens in this town,” Vincent replies. “So do you think they’re connected?” Shaw asks. “It’s definitely starting to look that way,” Vincent replies. “Crane’s under the suspicion that it has to be one of us. That’s a suspicion I agree with. He and Danny went and spoke with Carver last night, but I haven’t heard how that went yet,” Shaw says. “I’ve heard not great,” Vincent says. “What?” Shaw asks. “You don’t know? Then never mind. But if you ask me, Carver wasn’t an ideal suspect for one main reason: he’s one bump in the head away from being a full blown retard. No way he would have been able to kill Bobby, Pete, and Owen,” Vincent says. “Then who do you think is behind all this?” Shaw asks. “Could be Danny. Lord knows how much anger he must have brewing inside him from living all those years with Bobby and Pete. Maybe he just finally snapped. Or maybe it was Mister Do Good police officer Matthew Crane, trying to prove he has a bad boy side. Or maybe it was you, Mister Shaw. I’ve heard about the stuff you’ve been getting into lately. Murder isn’t out of character,” Vincent replies. “Watch yourself, Vince. I have my own suspicions. Don’t make me act on them,” Shaw retorts. Vincent smiles when suddenly three topless strippers walk over to their booth. “You’re Vincent Parks, aren’t you?” one of them asks. “Yes I am. And who might you ladies be?” Vincent counters. “Fans,” one replies. Vincent smiles and asks, “And what can I do for you ladies?” One grabs his hand and says, “Whatever you want.” Vincent motions to Winston and Winston and Shaw. “Do you two ladies mind caring for my friends here?” he asks. “Not at all,” the other two strippers reply. “Vinnie, f***ing strippers in the back of a club? They’re taking advantage of you,” Winston says. “And I’ll take advantage of them in a few minutes,” Vincent replies, standing up and grabbing his stripper’s butt. Shaw gets up as well and the two men are led away by the three topless girls. Winston sits in the booth and let’s out a sigh.

Cut to a backroom of the club where Vincent and his stripper, Jenny, are in the middle of their act, doggy style. Vincent keeps looking at himself in the mirror, flexing as he goes. “You bring guys back here often?” Vincent asks. “Only the special ones,” Jenny replies. We can see Vincent’s ego grow from this comment. And if you really think about it, it’s one of the least appealing compliments ever paid to anyone. A stripper opens the door and sees them going at it and quickly exits. We follow her out. As she walks down a hallway, another door opens and Shaw steps out, buckling his belt. His stripper steps out behind him. “So you know Senator Parks, right?” she asks. “Yeah, sure. I played golf with him this morning,” Shaw replies. “Cool, because I have this court date…” the stripper continues. “Yeah, yeah. I’ll speak with him about it,” Shaw tells her, then walks away. She does a satisfactory fist pump then realizes something. “Wait!” she calls after Shaw. “My name’s not Sparkles! It’s Evelyn!”

MONDAY

Lightning and the Bear

The camera is focused on a door when we hear someone knock on it from the other side. Crane goes to answer it to reveal Shaw. “What’s the rush?” Shaw asks, stepping inside. Crane leads him to a kitchen table where Danny Brigand was already sitting. Crane and Shaw take seats. “This morning Owen Thanks was found dead in his apartment. Bullet to the brain,” Crane says. “I’m sorry to hear that, but why does this concern me? I haven’t spoken to Owen in like three years,” Shaw asks. “Danny here has a theory,” Crane replies. “A month ago Bobby and Pete were murdered a month apart. The killer was never caught. I thought they were coming after me next, but they got Owen. It has to be connected,” Danny explains. “Danny, I’m sorry, but you’re jumping to conclusions here. They were all into some heavy s**t. Case closed,” Shaw replies. “Should we say the same thing whenever the killer comes for you?” Danny asks. Shaw laughs off the statements in disbelief. “Matty, you’re not buying into this bulls**t, are you?” Shaw asks. “I don’t know what to believe right now, Shaw. It is a bit suspicious that all three have died within a month of each other,” Crane replies. Shaw sighs. “So hypothetically, if their murders are connected, we’re saying it’s because of the Jefferson heist? That’s the only heist you worked, so that explains your involvement here,” he says to Crane. Crane nods. “And the only people who know about the heist are the parties involved. Still on the right track?” Shaw continues. Another nod from Crane. “So you’re saying one of us is going around killing off the others?” Shaw asks, more as a statement. “It would appear that way, yes. Danny and I both have Carver and Adam at the top of our list. They had to face jail time because of their involvement, but they got the same cut as everyone else. I’d be a bit pissed too,” Crane says. “They didn’t get the same cut as everyone else,” Shaw replies. “What do you mean? How is that possible? The money divided up into fifty thousand a piece,” Crane asks. “While Bobby and I were planning the heist, Vincent Parks came to us looking for some adventure. Apparently having a Senator for a father really shelters your life, and he was looking to rebel. He bought his way in, a fifty thousand split for Bobby and I. Then we also got his cut. Fifteen thousand each, and twenty for Carver and Adam to split,” Shaw explains. Crane and Danny look to each other, not knowing what to think of this. “But Carver and Adam have always been messed up in the head. They’re good leads…if this is really some murder plot,” Shaw adds. Crane eyes Shaw. “But you have a different suspect,” he says. “Look, I’m not naïve. I don’t think anything other than coincidence is at work here, but I still have my eyes open. Carver and Adam are a bump to the head away from full-on retardation. No telling what they could be cooking up at any time. Danny here is the quiet type coming off a lifetime of abuse from his brothers/ Maybe he finally snapped. Winston is has his d**k tucked so far between his legs, maybe he’s looking for some kind of release. And you, Officer Crane. To my knowledge you’ve worked one heist your entire life and been an upstanding citizen for the rest of it. Now I know you did what you did because of Sheila, but obviously you’re willing to go to some dark places. Maybe those places led you to take justice into your own hands,” Shaw explains. Crane leans forward. “So I’m not the only one who has suspicions about someone in this room,” he says. “Relax, Matty. Just because you’re high on my list doesn’t mean you’re at the top. No, that spot’s reserved for Vincent Parks. He may not personally be responsible, but his father has his eyes set pretty high for his political aspirations. He might be cleaning up the mess his son made ten years ago. Cutting off any loose ends,” Shaw replies. Crane eases back into his seat. “Danny and I are going to pay Carver and Adam a visit later today. You should check on Vince and Winston,” he says. “I can’t today. If this is really happening, then I’ve got some s**t to take care of first. But I’ll have a visit with them tomorrow. Some place Vincent can’t resist. Like a strip club or something,” Shaw replies, standing up and heading for the door. “Be careful out there,” Crane says. “Yeah, you too,” Shaw replies, then quickly exits.

Crane hops behind the driver’s wheel of his police cruiser and Danny takes the passenger seat. “You got the address?” Crane asks. Danny nods. Then a voice calls out to them. “Hey partner!” Crane turns and we see a man walking over to them, his face out of the shot. “Taking advantage of your day off?” the man asks, then leans down next to the driver’s side window, revealing himself to be Fetters, the man who would speak with Shaw in the strip club the next day. “Only day of the week I don’t have to stare at the awful mug of yours all day,” Crane replies jokingly. “Watch yourself, Matt. Or I can see to it you’re stuck on clean-up duty,” Fetters retorts, then noticeably eyes Danny. We can tell he recognizes the Brigand, but he doesn’t say anything. Instead he backs up with a smile. “Well I’ll be seeing you bright and early,” Fetters says, patting the car and walking away.

Vince and Winston sit in a small café eating breakfast. “So I heard something,” Vincent says. “About what?” Winston asks. “Owen Thanks,” Vince replies. “What about him?” Winston asks. “He’s dead,” Vince replies. Winston drop his food and looks at Vince. “No s**t,” he says, stunned. “Yes s**t. Cops found him this morning in his apartment, murdered,” Vince replies. “How do you know this?” Winston asks. “My father is a state senator. I’ve got ears everywhere, Winnie. You know that,” Vince replies. “Who did it?” Winston asks. “F**k if I know. Probably some heartbroken whore he crossed at some point. Or Shaw,” Vince replies. “Shaw?” “Yes Shaw. Someone killed Bobby and Pete. And now Owen’s dead? Somebody has us pegged. We gotta watch our backs,” Vince explains. “You think someone’s out to get us?” Winston asks. “No, I’ve been talking about f***ing rainbows this entire time. Of course someone’s out to get us, Winnie! But don’t worry. I’ve got my dad’s protection, and by extension, so do you,” Vince replies. “Vince, if someone is trying to kill us, we’ve gotta skip town or something,” Winston says. “Winnie, relax. No one’s going to be offing us anytime soon. We’re actually getting off track here. I didn’t tell you all that to spook you. I just wanted to keep you in the loop. In fact, that’s not even why I asked you to meet me up here. The real reason is I’ve got a job,” Vince says. “A job? Vince, I thought you were done with that s**t,” Winston says. “What are you? My girlfriend? Relax, Winnie. From what I’m told this is a quick little job, but it pays extremely well. The entire cut is yours. I’m asking as a friend,” Vince pleads. “Alright,” Winston gives in. “What’s the job?”

Crane and Danny drive through miles and miles of trees down a winding road. Finally, they veer off and arrive at a small cabin. The two men get out of the car and head inside. “Carver? Adam?” Crane calls out. He and Danny search through the cabin, looking for the men. Danny opens up a bathroom door and finds Adam sitting on the toilet, pants around his ankles. “Adam?” Danny asks, moving over to the completely still man. At a closer look he sees that Adam had taken a bullet to the chest and had long since died. Danny curses and backs away. Crane walks over and sees Adam’s body. And then a door opens behind them. They turn to see Carver entering the cabin. When he sees Crane and Danny staring at Adam’s dead body he curses and bolts out the door. Crane gives chase. Carver hops a fence as Crane goes to his squad car and pulls out a shot gun. “Carver! Don’t make me shoot you!” he shouts out. Carver jumps behind a small shed for cover. “Please don’t shoot me! I didn’t do it!” he pleads. “Why did you run?” Crane asks. “Because you were chasing me!” Carver replies. “You ran first!” Crane retorts. Carver stops to think about this, then says, “I’m sorry. Just don’t shoot me. I swear I didn’t hurt nobody.” Crane stops and thinks about this, then brings his gun down by his side. “Alright, Carver. Come inside. I’m not gonna shoot you, but we need to talk,” Crane says, walking back into the cabin.

Crane and Danny sit on one side of a table, while Carver sits on the other. They were in the middle of their conversation. “I’m telling you. I came home and just found him sitting there. I thought at first, maybe he wasn’t moving on account of his legs falling asleep for being there to long. But then he never came out. I eventually went in there and saw the bullet hole. I was going to get help when you two showed up,” Carver explains. Crane and Danny look to each other, buying the story. “But you’re saying someone is after all of us now? I know I’m not all right in the head, but you can’t think it’s me,” Carver continues. “You spent years in prison because of us,” Danny says. “But I agreed to it. What did you think? Someone was gonna wisen me and Adam up in there?” Carver asks. Crane and Danny look to each other. “Look, I can take care of myself out here. Don’t worry about me. Worry about yourselves. And you can leave Adam. I’m the closest thing he’s got to family. I’ll give him a nice burial,” Carver says. Crane sighs and stands up. “Good luck, Carver. I really hope you stay safe,” he says. “You too, Officer Crane. And you, Danny,” Carver replies. Carver shakes hands with Crane, then Danny. Crane and Danny leave the cabin, hoping to see Carver alive again one day.

Vince and Winston sit in a car outside a small house. Vince hands Winston an envelope. “They told me this was an easy, in-and-out job. Apparently we just have to eliminate the people in that envelope,” Vince says. “Eliminate? People, as in plural for person? Come on, Vince. I didn’t know I was agreeing to murder,” Winston says. “Winnie, these are bad guys. You’d be doing the city a favor,” Vince says. Winston sighs and looks down at the envelope. “Vince, let’s just skip town. Think about it, man. Me and you. I’ve already looked into plane tickets. We could run Puerta Rico,” Winston says. “Winnie, I don’t run away from my problems like you. I turn around and face them like a man. Now are you going to help me with this or not?” Vince asks. Winston sighs and tears open the envelope. He reads the slip of paper inside and his eyes go wide. “Vince, there’s a dozen f**king names on this list,” Winston says. Vince grabs the paper. “Oh my god. And look at the names. Lancelot, Boots, Tiger. They all have code names or something,” he says. “Well then we need code names,” Winston replies. “Yeah. You can be The Pooh,” Vince says. “The Poo?” “Pooh. With an h. Like Winnie the Pooh.” “Well what the f**k is a Pooh? I always thought that was just his name. I didn’t know it was something you could be.” “Whatever. We’re getting off track. You can just be the Bear,” Vince says. “The Bear? Yeah. That’s good,” Winston replies. “I’ll be…Lightning,” Vince says, admiring his codename. The two men sit there thinking about their names. Then they remember they had a job to do and quickly hop out of the car.

Vince and Winston step inside the house, pistols in hand, and peer around. They quietly creep around the house, looking for their targets. Winston steps into the kitchen and trips over a water bowl on the floor. He curses and looks down, seeing the bowl read “Lancelot” in big, bold letters. And then it dawns on him. He looks around the kitchen, which was covered in bowls filled with water and food. Next to the door was a giant litter box. A cat jumps up onto the counter and stares at him right in the eyes. The cat lunges at his face and the camera cuts to Vince as we hear Winston scream.

Vince looks up. “Winnie?” he calls out. He races to the kitchen to see Winston throwing the cat off his face and kicking it. Vince looks around and has the same realization as Winston. Vince holsters his gun and pulls out a knife. He looks to Winston who does the same.

Cut to Winston and Vince sitting on the floor with their backs against the wall. They both look exhausted and are covered with scratches all over their bodies. (which explains their looks the following day at the strip club.) “We’re going to hell,” Winston says, eying his bloody knife. “When you walked in here you thought you’d be killing twelve men. Relax,” Vince says. Suddenly, they here a door open somewhere else in the house. A woman’s voice is heard mourning her cats. Winston and Vince look to each other, knowing they had to get out of there fast. Suddenly a shotgun blast creates a giant hole in the wall just inches over their heads. They both curse and lunge forward, trying to find cover. “You killed my cats!” the woman exclaims, blasting another hole in the wall. Winston pulls out his pistol and shoots out a window. “Let’s get the f**k out of here!” Winston exclaims. Vince leaps out the window, followed by Winston. Vince and Winston scramble to get into their car. The woman steps outside in pursuit and we finally see her in all her dirty, obese glory. She cocks her shotgun. “Drive!” Winston exclaims. Vince puts it in drive and floors it as the cat lady fires, exploding the back window of his car. As they get further away the two friends look to each other then share a laugh at the absurdity.

It was almost midnight now. Crane lays awake in bed. Suddenly he gets a call. He answers it and hears Fetters’ voice. “Crane, they want you out here. We got two murders in a cabin out in Wedgefield. They say one looks deader than the other,” Fetters says. Crane sighs and says he’d be on his way. Then he sits there for a moment, shaking his head.

THURSDAY

S**t Hits the Fan

Danny wakes up when he hears a knock at his front door. He turns to his clock. One in the morning. He sighs and pulls himself out of bed. He creeps toward the door and stands beside it, as if scared to get hit by something coming through it. “Who’s there?” he calls out. No answer. “Hello?” he asks. Suddenly, a shotgun blast rips through the door, confirming his fears. He turns and sprints away from the door, heading to the kitchen. He flings open a drawer and grabs a knife, then continues running. The intruder steps inside, searching for Danny. “Please don’t do this!” Danny pleads, going back into his room and locking the door. He slides his dresser in front of it, then pulls out a small box out from under his bed. He unlocks it and pulls out a pistol. He clumsily loads it as the intruder reaches his door and tries to break it open. Danny is frantic, crying now as he gets the pistol loaded. The intruder is going ballistic on the door now, trying to break it down. Danny backs as far away from the door as he can, holding the pistol up. The intruder manages to shove the door and dresser out the way and squeeze into the room. Danny pulls the trigger on his pistol, but only hears a click. He curses and stares down the intruder. Thick brown boots, dirty jeans, a grey jacket, gloves, and a ski mask. The intruder lifts up the shotgun and points it at Danny. “Please,” Danny pleads. The intruder fires.

Crane and Fetters stand over Danny’s body and whatever remains of his splattered face. Fetters turns to Crane. “So how did you know him?” Fetters asks. “Know him?” Crane retorts. “He was with you the other day. The day we found those two hicks out in the cabin,” Fetters continues. Crane doesn’t know what to say. He feared Fetters knew something. “I just found him roaming the streets. He needed a ride,” Crane lies. Fetters nods and we don’t know if he believes his partner or not.

Fetters walks swiftly through the police station, then heads down a flight of stairs and into a dark room. He goes through years and years of archives, then stops on June 2, 1992. Only four crimes were committed that day. He had his eyes on two in particular. He pulls out a file and reads about Carver and Adam’s arrest for robbing the bank. He mentally checks off their deaths in his head. Then he grabs everything they had on the Jefferson bank robbery. He reads over the file. Three unknown robbers, one getaway driver, one hostage, one injured officer, one injured civilian, and one dead civilian. Fetters pops in copies of security camera footage from the heist. He watches as Winston interacts with the robbers, then Owen getting shot in the shoulder. He stops when he sees Owen’s face and leans in close, recognizing him. He mentally checks off another name in his head. Fetters then pops in another tape. This one was an outside camera and we watch as Crane is gunned down by the masked assailant. On first glance this looks like Crane tried to stop the fleeing robbers. But Fetters rewatches and gets suspicious. Crane goes down too easy. He should have done something. Fetters puts everything away and leaves, trying to figure all this out.

Shaw is in his kitchen, frying up some bacon and scrambling eggs. Suddenly, there’s a knock at his door. As he walks over to it we can see on the clock on the wall that it’s almost eleven o’clock, and judging by the darkness outside, it was P.M. not A.M. You may have detected a pattern about night time visitors in the film up to this point so as Shaw gets closer to the door, the score rises and brings up the tension. But when he opens the door, the music stops and tension is eased. Vince steps inside, looking tired. “Good, you came!” Shaw says, leading Vince to the kitchen. The food was ready and Shaw slides some onto plates for himself and Vince. They sit down at the table. “So I assume you heard about Danny?” Shaw asks. “Yeah. Winnie’s flipping out. Trying to get me to skip town with him. But Vincent Parks doesn’t run away. Winnie can grow a pair or leave by himself,” Vince replies. “It’s interesting, isn’t it? The killer has to be either Winnie or Crane. And if it’s not them, then the killer is sitting at this very table,” Shaw says.

Crane jumps into his car. He has a look of determination in his eyes as he starts it. He puts it into drive and takes off. Six people were dead. Only four remained. This ended tonight.

Vince is not his usual cocky, gung-ho self. He grows more and more uneasy as the conversation goes on. Shaw finishes off his meal and goes over to the sink. As he washes off his plate in the sink he continues talking. “I think we should all stick together and have an eye on each other until we figure out the killer. Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer kind of thing,” he says. Vince just mumbles, “mhm,” and we can see he has slid a knife from his pocket and holds it in trembling hands. “Whatcha got there, buddy?” Shaw asks, and we now see he’s standing right behind Vince, his own knife in hand. Shaw jams the knife into Vince’s side. Vince drops his knife and howls out in pain. Suddenly, Winston bursts into the room and watches Shaw jamming the knife repeatedly into Vince’s side. “No!” Winston cries, tackling Shaw. Vince coughs up blood and clutches his side as blood pours out of it. He tries to push himself across the floor, but doesn’t get very far. Shaw and Winston wrestle over the floor. Winston puts up a good fight, but he’s no match for the brute named Shaw. He gets up and tosses Winston into the table, knocking him out. Then picks up the knife moves over to finish the job on Vince. Suddenly, a bullet rips through Shaw’s head, killing him instantly. His body topples to the floor. The camera turns to reveal Crane had entered the room and fired the shot. Crane puts away his gun and moves over to Winston, checking his pulse. He was alive and fine. Crane then moves over to Vince and checks his side. He curses at the sight of it. “Just hang on, Vince. I’ll get you to the hospital,” Crane assures him. He grabs Vince under the arms and drags him across the floor. “Don’t let me die!” Vince pleads. “I won’t. I won’t let you die,” Crane says. Vince begins crying out. “Please help me!” he cries. Crane continues dragging Vince and they pass the clock on the wall which now reads midnight. It was now Friday as Crane drags Vince outside and down the steps. “Don’t let me die! Please don’t let me die!” he mumbles, but with earnest desperation, tears streaming down his face. Crane drags Vincent over to his squad car and opens the doors to the back seat. He slides in first, then pulls Vincent in. “Just lay there. I’ll take you to the hospital. You’re going to be ok,” Crane tries to assure him.

FRIDAY

In the End

Vince lays in his hospital bed, side patched up. He was out cold. Matt Crane sits by the bed. Fetters enters the room. “How is he?” Fetters asks. Crane just shakes his head. “Do you know why I’m here?” Fetters asks. “I have a hunch,” Crane replies. Fetters laughs and takes a seat. “Matt, I never took you as someone who would be involved in something like that,” Fetters says. “It was a one time thing. We were behind on bills. I had to do anything I could to…” Crane explains. “Matt, relax. I may be your partner, but I also consider myself a friend. Nobody knows about your involvement but me, and I promise to keep it that way,” Fetters replies. “Thanks,” Crane says, really meaning it. “So the murders were all connected too, I see. Officer Matt Crane, solving murders even off duty,” Fetters says. Crane smiles. “I guess so.” Fetters then gives a nod and walks out the room. We follow him into an elevator as it makes it’s way down. When he reaches the body floor he exits just as Winston enters. As the elevator doors close, Fetters turns, recognizing the face.

Winston enters Vince’s hospital room. Crane smiles. “Hey, Winnie. How ya feeling?” he asks. “Fine. How’s Vince?” Winston asks. “The doctors say it doesn’t look good. The knife punctured a lot of arteries and he lost a lot of blood,” Crane replies. Winston curses and takes a seat, putting his head in his hands. “This wasn’t supposed to happen,” Winston says. “Winnie, you can’t blame yourself,” Crane says. “No! It was my fault. And now he could die? If he would have just ran away with me…” Winston retorts. Crane doesn’t really know what to say. “Why did you want him to runaway with you so badly?“ Crane asks. Winston just looks at him. And then Crane realizes. “You love him,” Crane says. Winston just sits there. “Winnie, Vince wasn’t gay. He was a rich as*hole who never gave f**k about you,” Crane continues. Winston suddenly snaps, standing up and flinging his chair at Crane. Crane falls over and Winston pounces on him. Winston sits on top of Crane, bringing his fists down repeatedly across Crane’s face. “I just wanted him to runaway with me. Why can’t he feel the same way about me?” Winston asks, crying now as he continues pounding into Crane. Crane eventually stops fighting back. To weak now. Winston puts his hands around Crane’s neck and pushes down hard. Crane tries to inhale, but can’t. He flails around, trying to get any amount of air in his lungs. Then his hand reaches for Vince’s bed, trying to press the button to call a nurse. He hand searches frantically as the life begins to escape him. Just as Crane is about to drift off, Fetters rushes back in and shoves Winston off him. He pins Winston to the floor and holds a gun to the back of his head. “Winston Grimes, you’re under arrest for the murders of Robert Brigand, Peter Brigand, Daniel Brigand, Owen Thanks, Adam Reynolds, Richard Carver, and the attempted murder of Matthew Crane.”

WEDNESDAY

Loose Ends

Shaw exits his apartment and goes over to his trash bin. He removes a bag of trash and then grabs a duffel bag out from under it. He puts the trash back in and heads back inside. Shaw dumps the contents of the bag onto his bed. This was the money Tutone returned to him. Shaw begins counting, then putting it in stacks in a lock box. Once he gets all the money inside, he goes to his closet and opens a safe. Inside was more money which he pulls out and puts in the lock box. When he’s all done, Shaw locks up the box and takes it with him as he leaves.

Shaw arrives at his ex-wife Allie’s house and hurries to the door. When Allie answers, she has a disgusted look on her face. “What the f**k are you doing here, Shaw? You need to leave,” Allie says. “Just give me five minutes. Please,” Shaw pleads. We can see the desperation in his eyes. Allie sighs and steps back, calling for Jamie. Shaw’s son Jamie comes rushing to the door. “Dad!” he exclaims. Shaw smiles and bends down, hugging his son. “Come play with me!” Jamie exclaims. Shaw smiles and says, “Mommy doesn’t want me to stay long, but I do have a game for you. Only you can play it. Nobody else. It’s a secret game. And there’s even a prize.” Jamie’s face lights up. “A prize?” he asks. “Yeah. Like it’s like a treasure hunt. And the treasure is all yours. You don’t share with anybody else. You don’t even tell anybody else about the treasure. You understand?” Shaw asks. Jamie nods. Shaw smiles and takes the key from around his neck and places it over Jamie’s. “That will open the treasure chest,” Shaw says. Jamie looks at it in awe. Shaw pulls his son in for a hug and a kiss. “I love you,” he says. “Love you too,” Jamie replies. Shaw releases his embrace and stands up straight again. Then he does the hardest thing he’d ever and will ever do. Says goodbye to his son for the last time.

Crane walks through a cemetery and stops at the one marked Sheila Crane 1967-1996. He crouches down next to it and places a bouquet of flowers. He begins to cry as he remembers his wife. He touches her name on the tombstone and the camera pans back.

Winston is standing in his small room staring at a picture of himself and Vince. It’s obvious the original picture was a group shot of several people, but Winston cut them out to make the picture appear more intimate. We then notice a pair of plane tickets on his dresser. He sighs as sits on his bed and pulls on some dirty jeans. Then he ties on a pair of thick brown boots. Next he slides on a grey jacket over his shirt and a pair of gloves for each hand. The last thing Winston does is grab a ski mask and place it in his pocket right before he heads out the door.
