May get a lot of crap for it but my favorite M Night film 5/5. Bruce Dallas Howard was sensational.

Basically the first act of a story stretched out to feature length; characters don't act organically, in order to keep the twist from the audience. Decent atmosphere but it all falls apart in the end. C-

starts off great but the twists are awful. The first twist goes against the whole marketing of the movie, no wonder people were pissed

 

 

 

But it is a masterpiece compared to Shyamalan's recent movies.  At least it is well acted, well shot and has a absolutely gorgeous score.

Had it not been marketed as a monster/horror, I would have enjoyed this. It's a well made, well acted slap around the face.
