  1. I didn't read this but if you see any major event film OW, you're going to get massive audience reactions. Thats part if the reason to see it opening
  2. The drop is fine for NWH. People are scared of Omnicron. The older demos are still not coming back to theaters. Clearly, Covid is still affecting box office. If I were a studio, I would seriously consider delaying anything targeted to older demos or sell that shit to streaming. That box office audience seems gone. Also, I believe NWH would have better drops if it were not for Covid. Occums Razor is relevant here. The easiest explanation is the most plausible.
  3. Not really. I don't think the people who dislike this movie hate it like TLJ. TLJ is a very different beast and shouldn't be compared to this. It's unlikely we get another TLJ level film unless Feige decides to shit the bed with the MCU and does something that pisses off a lot of people.
  4. Yup. This film is a franchise killer...Or, is it? I don't know. I can see them making a HBO MAX series without Keanu that takes place in the Matrix world. Maybe, I don't know. If Netfilx did something like that, it would get cancelled after a season.
  5. I don't agree. This isn't a Fast and Furious 7 or TDK where the actor was present for both films. A new Black Panther will take over the mantle, and I don't think it will be enough novelty to draw people like Fast 7 and TDK did. I think the film will be a crowd pleaser like most MCU films are, but I think MoM benefits from the multiverse, being fresh off NWH, and I think it's going to be heavily marketed and will deliver the multiverse goods big time. Thor 4 has the benefit of Ragnarok (which has gained a big following after it came out) plus IW and EG and also the Guardians being in the film even if for a little bit. Thor's popularity has grown. The whole Chadwick's legacy argument I don't think holds up.
  6. Batman is still big. This actually looks like a Batman movie. $200M+ March OW...although it might move.
  7. Currently, I predict both Thor and MoM to make more domestically than BP:WF Avatar 2, I have no fucking clue. My range is $300M-EG levels Domestic. But, if it gets a China release it will end up being the highest grossing movie of all time worldwide.
  8. Finally, we can talk about What If Strange openly. Teaser is a good teaser. I will continue to stand by my $200M OW prediction.
  9. Having slept on this, meh is the right word. Honestly, this film is forgettable. People will forget about this in a couple of weeks and move on. I wish it was interesting enough to be divisive like The Lat Jedi like one critic claimed.
  10. I was going to see this in theaters, but watched on MAX instead. I don't think it is anywhere near as divisive as Reloaded or Revolutions nor that risky. How the movie plays out makes a lot of sense for a Matrix movie. It was an interesting reboot, but felt pretty average to me. The Last Jedi this is not nor is this any sort of masterpiece.
  11. If NWH drops and drops hard, it's very clear with that A+ cinemascore it is not because of WOM so let's not try and pretend audiences suddenly lost interest and think the movie is shit.
  12. More like Covid jinxed Cinemascore. Also, I had a ZOOM meetup today with about 20 people. Most people are still not aware Tobey and Andrew are in this. A lot of GA hasn't heard yet, so there is still time for WOM to spread. I think some people aren't seeing it because they think it's Tom's film.
  13. Holland is not RDJ. He does not have the leverage RDJ had. They can easily go Miles Morales road or bring back Garfield for a while or any number of possibilities. Holland is a Spider-Man, but he is not THE Spider-Man. RDJ defined Iron Man.
  14. My dad who is in his 60s wants to see Matrix. Everyone in younger demos though talking Spider-Man. I think Matrix skews to an older demo like 30 and up mostly, and well the older you get, the less likely you are to go to the theater based off current moviegoing habits
  15. I think $200M OW is in the cards, especially if the Multiverse aspect is really played up. This is fresh off NWH and Doctor Strange has really had time to build himself up since 2016 after the first film. He played a pretty big role in IW, EG and NWH. Plus, Wanda and Spoiler from trailer in it helps a lot.
