  1. I have a feeling this film will be a huge hit. Perfect release date, and based off what we know this feels like an event film, and it has the nostalgia factor of bringing back Maguire. This film will be the real test of a post-Covid box office world.
  2. The crazy thing is that she was given a chance. She just didn't need to Tweet anything stupid and yet here we are.
  3. I can't believe the Academy Awards won't be almost until May.
  4. I know the two aren't comparable but any chance they get rid of Kennedy at some point. She might be a good producer, but she doesn't get SW at all.
  5. Wow! Clone Wars is doing crazy good. Is Cobra Kai really that good? Anyway, as far as the IMDB goes, I think WandaVision is overrated. It's a B/B+ show for me so far which isn't bad, but I don't feel this is on par with Marvel Studio's best nor is it as good as The Mandalorian. However, seeing how this seems to be a mini-series, we will have to see how the remaining episodes play out. I'm grateful actually that this will probably be a one and done. I think it's obnoxious how many shows go on past their expirations just because. Titans viewership is also very impressive considering it's on HBOmax
  6. Soul will get a nom, no doubt. I even think there is a small like 5% chance it can even win BP.
  7. Great episode! Excellent season finale! It far exceeded my expectations. This episode was fucking awesome!
  8. I think anything is possible right now. Disney might want to follow Warner's path to try and have MAX pick up less subscribers. At the end of the day, it comes down to how far Disney wants to go in the streaming wars. I can assure you right now that all the higher ups at Disney are having serious discussions as to what their next move is going to be. I am sure that WB's move was 100% unexpected and caught everyone in the movie industry off-guard. What happens next can end up being one of Disney's biggest decisions with repercussions that can last decades to come. Honestly, I am 50/50 that Disney will do something similar to what WB did. Now, I love the BO, but WB just launched a nuke. They literally declared war with the move they just made. Yes, I am going to call it for what it is, the studios and cinema chains and streaming entities are now in a full out war. I guess we can call it World War Streaming or WWS for short.
  9. I think whatever wins this year, WB movies will be out. I don't see the Academy being happy with WB for their move and as a result, punishing their films. That goes for Tenet and any other potential WB contender.
  10. I don't see the studios chipping in to save theaters. With streaming they keep 100% of the profits. They say its temporary, but yet their entire 2021 slate is going to MAX. By the time 2022 rolls around it will be the norm to watch WB movies on MAX. Consumers will have gotten used to it then, I just don't see them going back. Also, I think AMC for sure won't be around and a good chance Regal won't either. Lots of people won't even be able to go to a movie theater.
  11. Better yet, antitrust laws stops AT&T from ever buying out a studio again.
  12. Hard to tell if BW goes streaming now. I think this gives Disney more ammo, but they might want to wait and see how many subs MAX gets for WW84.
  13. I'm guessing the cost is a couple billion or so, also minus whatever they would have made had they got a theatrical release. So, we're talking billions here just to try and get people to sign up for HBO MAX, and honestly, this could backfire for them.
  14. Well, AT&T did it. They blew up the BO. This is a huge game changer. The reality is cinemas won't be the same once the virus is over. The big studios are scrambling right now figuring out their next move. Regal and Cinemark are freaking out right now. AMC has already resigned themselves to this fate. So, yah, I think this is it. Yes, movies will come back, but it won't be the same. More things will go to streaming, and well, it's going to be hard for theaters to stay in business. Any day now, I expect AMC to announce bankruptcy with Regal following suit. Anyway, this thread is to discuss the end of BO as we know it. I guess it really ended in March when Covid broke out, but this just seals its fate. Farewell BO, it was nice knowing you. At least, we got to see a huge $357M OW with EG last year. That was epic. Post your BO memories and shed your tears. BO RIP 1900s-12/3/2020
  15. What the fuckity fuck of fucking fucks. What is going on. Holy fuck! Well, RIP BO. RIP movie theaters. I did not see this coming. I feel like the AT&T CEO either has no clue what they are doing or wants to turn HBO/Warner Bros into the next Netflix and/or both that the CEO is incompetent and wants HBO MAX to be the next D+/Netflix. This is why a cellular company buying a movie studio is a bad idea.
  16. How many election lawsuits has Trump won so far? Oh, right, he's lost like 30+.
  17. The opening day is pretty good so far all things considered.
  18. I think anything is possible at this point. Also, Disney 18+ sounds more realistic than Disney Star for an American market. I also think there would be less controversy adding an R-rated selection if they clearly label it 18+. I still think there will be controversy though even if it requires a special password to access so kids can't watch it. Traditionally, Disney has been known for being family friendly so 18+ is a huge shift for them, but I guess it would make them even more competitive against Netflix.
  19. Shareholders might react at a lower price point, but that will have little long-term on the value of the stock. What will have an impact on the value of the stock is the amount of subscribers MAX can get. More subscribers=increase in share price.
