  1. Well if you consider there is neither a Bond nor a Bourne film currently in theaters then yes he is.
  2. That's true. I'm just happy that MI:4 appears to be the film that will win the holidays. If you told me that about a year or so ago it wouldn't have been my choice, but I'm such a fan of Brad Bird and that he's made a successful leap over to live action.
  3. Don't the numbers usually get skewed today because of Christmas Eve but then rebound on Christmas?
  4. Not really, I loved the first two Shrek films, the first Madagascar, Over the Hedge, Horton Hears A Who, the Ice Age films. Alvin I never liked even as a kid.
  5. See that is why I don't like going to the movies any more. I mean what a completecu http://myinstants.com/instant/vuvuzela/
  6. Oh and as for Daniel Craig, I have no issue with guy. I think he makes a very good Bond and is adequate in other things that I've seen him in. I have no reason to muster up any hatred no undying love.
  7. DT is going to get the fans of the book beyond that I'm not sure. Every New Year's Eve I always go to a movie with my parents. My dad said he thought DT looks interesting and maybe we could see that. I told from what I've heard about the story, I don't think it's a movie I want to have mother sitting next to me for. I said We Bought A Zoo might be more mom's speed.
  8. I agree the Tintin advertising has been very small. Compared to the other two. Watching football the last two weeks there was nothing but MI and DT oh and Sherlock.
  9. Deathly Hallows 2 was my favorite film, followed by X-Men First Class and Captain America. I liked Thor, Transformers 3, Fast Five and On Stranger Tides equally. I was lukewarm to somewhat liked Green Lantern and Cars 2. I still need to see Rise of the Apes, watching tomorrow likely and Super 8. Of course I need to see every other movie released in the year.
  10. Yep you get the occasional elderly couple and that's about it.
  11. Interesting how the film is more know for creating an internet meme than the actual film itself. It really a great film. A-
  12. I think Disney is looking at that 1 billion WW and ignoring the 240 domestic.
  13. I just finished watching it and I have to say for the most part I enjoyed. A few things I didn't care for, the missionary and mermaid might have been the dullest on screen couple in quite some time. And despite costing 250 million there were times when it looked a little cheap. And I thought the first 20 minutes were kind of a slog to get through. What did I like? Just about everything else. I thought McShane made a good Blackbeard, though nothing is ever touching Nighy as Davy Jones. I thought Cruz was very good. The film moved at a good pace. And finally as long as Depp and Rush are willing to do more, then I'm willing to watch. The movies are always the best when they are on screen. B+
  14. I must be looking at completely different trailer. I loved it.
  15. Here's where we can discuss what we liked about what we saw on the small screen in 2011. Our favorite shows, moments, performances whatever you like.My pick for the best overall show was Breaking Bad. Each season seems to top the other and this was certainly no exception. Everyone in the cast was great. And for my money nothing that I have seen this year whether movies or other tv shows topped this scene.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aldmMZag8RMOther shows that were amongst my favorites(note these are not in any order). I loved the funny Parks and Recreation with it's combination of goofy and sweet characters. The Dunphy/Pritchett clan continued to make me laugh and even warmed my heart on Modern Family. Person of Interest has turned into an enjoyable kick-ass procedural. Game of Thrones was easily the most ambitious thing on TV and HBO knocked it out of the park. Plus it accelerated my reading of the rest of the series. Just great TV. Justified went from being a very good show to a great one this year. It comes back January 17 on FX give it a shot. And finally we said goodbye to the town of Dillion TX, Friday Night Lights ended after five years. The fact that a show like this was given five years was a miracle. It was simply the best show I've seen about American life in general.A few other things, I don't have Showtime, so I never got to check out Homeland. I don't have HBO either but I watched GOT at my parents house. Community I like, I just don't love it.Thoughts?
  16. I liked the finale and hope that it does come back for a second season. Before this I was fine if it didn't. And there is a slight moment at the end.
  17. Clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap
  18. Can I go with being cautiously optimistic?
  19. You know we can come up with a litany of reasons why the box office is down. Economy, movies aren't as good, weather, etc. But maybe it's just as simple as people just don't feel like going.
  20. That's so crazy that it's been ten years. It feels like those movies just came out.
  21. It's not even worth getting upset how bad the box office is, it is what it is I guess.
  22. I want this movie probably as much as any other out. But I want Bird to take as much time with the story as possible. And by this point he's earned my trust.
  23. Pretty weak for SH2. Alvin-Parents of America, thank you. That is fantastic for MI:GP. I don't know what it entails for next weekend but it's a great start.
  24. I work until 5:30 most nights then work out after. By that time I'm ready to go home. And weekends I usually have other plans.
