  1. ^Yeah me too.Anyway according to http://boxoffice.screendaily.com/countries/12/charts/28693Hobbit grossed 3,81 $ mln on its opening weekend. In terms of the $ gross that would make it the second biggest opening.6,13 $mln from Tuesday(Dec 25th) to Sunday seems to be a great result as well. Also, the Hobbit has passed 1 mln in admissions earlier this week, probably on the 1st of January.
  2. Not quite, though it should've been. 1. Ogniem i mieczem $26,366,071 2. Avatar $26,135,805 3. Pan Tadeusz $20,879,608 4. Lejdis $18,484,522 5. Shrek the Third $18,014,551 6. Shrek Forever After $17,262,308 7. Quo Vadis $16,863,883 8. Titanic 14,078,241 9. Listy do M. $13,943,941 10. Katyn $13,558,634
  3. Nah, don't think that's possible.Even if TH gets the same amount of admissions as the LOTR films, it still won't be enough to break even 20 mln.But you know, never say never
  4. Yeah I'd say so.depends on the legs, but everything seems to be in its favour.
  5. The Hobbit means some serious business in Poland, where it opened with 547 047 admissions for a weekend and 892 066 if we add the numbers from the pre-shows, which started on Tuesday. Can't say for sure, but that would be around 3,8 mln opening for a weekend's result alone. Stunning
  6. The Hobbit established a new record for an opening weekend for 2012 in Poland with 547 047 admissions (130 000 better than previous 2012 record holder BD2) and 892 066 admissions since last Tuesday, when the pre-shows had started.
  7. European ones are pretty good, apart from France, which is ok. I'd say.LA is rather underwhelming.Asian numbers are just meh, I mean Japan with 9,6??????? for real??????
  8. It actually opened on tuesday with loads of preshows. Though the official date is set on 28th.There are so many factors being in favour for the Hobbit that it'll be dissapointing if it doesn't hit at least 10 mln.I mean come on, if Madagascar 3 could do that this year, than why not Hobbit. It has a good $-PLN exchange rate, lots of buzz in the media( I've seen at least 20 adv of it on TV last days), seems to have a big fanbase( LOTR is very popular here, which I witnessed couple of months ago attending lotr extended edition marathon, where literally dozens of halls were 100% full). And it's Christmas folks, the season which films usually benefit from.I'm seeing this tomorrow, so may have a chance to take a glimpse at its attendance to check if it's doing well at theaters.
  9. Likeable: Kate Winslet, Anne Hathaway, Cameron Diaz, Julia Roberts, Meryl Streep, Daniel Radcliffe, Johnny Depp, Jennifer LawrenceUnlikable: Kristen Stewart, Tom Cruise, Bill Paxton, Nicolas Cage, Kirsten Dunst
  10. How so?By calling it a bomb or a flop?Just like you did in the HK thread, when it opened there with 1,5$ mln.....You're just giving us so much life.
  11. Cut it out for god's sake.Stop trying to make drama happen, it's not going to happen!Hobbit isn't doing big bussines in HK as we see the first numbers but it's neither flopping nor bombing.
  12. Guys, come on?Since when is the Hobbit supposed to break records for presales, an opening day or an opening weekend. It's December, many kids have school til 22nd or so and people gotta go to work. It's not Summer. If anyone feels tad dissapointed it's probably due to the overhyping the film's opening that has been built up on forum literally since ages by ourselves. We just might have put the expectations a bit too high for it.None film that opened in December set records in terms of a single day gross, presales etc.Since it's not very frontloaded judging by the first results, strong holds are needed and we'll have to wait couple of days to see whether that happens or not. So no need to worry too much right now.Its strength relies on good weekdays and Xmas' and New Year's bumps.
  13. Did some research and after last weekend Skyfall has become #3 highest grossing film in EU countries passing DH P2.It had over 410 mln$ without updates from Italy and UK and DH P2 final result is 412,14 mln$.Bond outgrossing Potter. Never expected that would happen
  14. Wow, never expected Skyfall would become such a OS box office monster :oIt is also at around 402 mln $ gross in EU after last weekend and is catching up with HP: DH 2, which stands at 412,1 mln $.
  15. Sorry to write back after a couple of days, but I've been so busy lately and barely had spare time for myself.Anyway, I can't find the accurate data, guess I'd need to dig in the archives of some polish websites, cuz I'm pretty much sure I came across some info about the annual box office results some time ago. Can't find the site now, though. But as far as I'm concerned the number were sth like that:2011 had around 38,5 million admissions, with this year being thought to end up with over 40 million. The date to date comparision between 2011 and 2012 shows this year has a higher pace. The 2010 had around 39( mainly due to Avatar) and 2009 was sth like 37.
  16. Yep, that's around $2 mil opening. The admissions' result is slightly over expectations, which were about 200 000 entries.Hope it grows strong legs in France.
  17. Back to the weekend's box office. Cloud Atlas debuted with 103 023 admissions. taking the 2nd spot behind Twilight's finale. That should be around $600,000 opening.
  18. 225 000 admissions from France and 3rd place there this weekend.http://www.cine-dire....net/boxoff.htm
  19. Despite its official gross the first three polish movies aren't considered to be eligibled for their spots in the top 10.Released in the late 90-ies most of their viewers were kids and teenagres. To see these movies was kind of compulsory for school trips to cinemas, because they're based on historical novels.
  20. Wow, BD2 is doing great overseas. Not a big fan of the franchise but it's great that a film performes well when quite a lot box office's runs don't come up to our expectations and earn less than most of would want them to do.Setting a new WW record for its franchise as a final part seems locked.
  21. Sorry, it took me a while to write back, I've been busy lately. Here's the top 10 of all time: 1. Ogniem i mieczem $26,366,071 2. Avatar $26,135,805 3. Pan Tadeusz $20,879,608 4. Lejdis $18,484,522 5. Shrek the Third $18,014,551 6. Shrek Forever After $17,262,308 7. Quo Vadis $16,863,883 8. Titanic 14,078,241 9. Listy do M. $13,943,941 10. Katyn $13,558,634 Avatar was over 30 mil at some point during its run, but then the rate started declining.
  22. Breaking Dawn 1 $4,103,354 768 404 adm. Eclipse $4,341,664 801 539 adm. New Moon $4,338,441 780 368 adm. Twilight $1,764,732 439 768 adm.
