  1. LOL almost the exact same number as CF did last year
  2. Apparently it had this year's biggest OD in Australia with $2,77 million. THG and HG had $1,75m and $2,72m respectively.
  3. CF had like 73,600ish admissions on its OD right? MJ1 increased then? I'll take every result beating the predecessor. Intersteallar continues having a great run but it seems as though it has lost some of its impact as it doesn't have jaw-dropping holds anymore. Still one heck of a performance and a well-deserved one. That film was awesome, Nolan may just take our money!
  4. Titanic is EVERYTHING. Some may say whatever they want on it, but the fact the movie manages to capture the audience enough to actually care about it(regardles if that's a positive or a negative opinion on the film itself) after fricking 17 years must tell sth. I myself can't help but watch it every time it airs on tv even though i saw it soooo many times before that i somewhat learned most of the lines by heart. There is just sth about Titanic that transcends and keeps the audience engaged. Truly one of the best examples of modern cinema hands down.
  5. Finally got to chace it in the theaters. Wooooowww.....what a great movie that was! Incredible cast with great portrayals and a hauntitng score. Maybe not as emotionally engaging as Gravity but still a satifying picture. Powerful performances by Matthew, Anne and Jessica. I left the screeing feeling good, hard to explain but when a movie gets you into such state one must know it must've been a one heck of a film and it was.
  6. woah, it's having a crazy run out there! any remote chance of it catching Frozen's result?
  7. Cool, but still everything you wrote suggest it's rather unlikely than impossible. What impossible is to predict its final gross, so no, bye.
  8. As if success in Japan accounts for all of the OS market. THG remains strong in Europe and Australia. Those two alone contributed to around $300mln.
  9. Bloated, dull with uninspired characters setting off on what seems to be a life-threatening journey to save the world from the upcoming doom, when in fact they're taking a f* stroll and an eagle taxi. The title and LOTR references can't carry the movie, it has to present sth to the audience and Jackson failes to do so imo. What saves the film are the performances from the cast - they all did a pretty good job, despite a turd of a script to work with. I'd add Bilbo-Gollum riddle scene and the movie's score to be a plus too. I also consider the further installment to be a miles better.
  10. It's still grossing over a 1 billion tho. Its final result might be muted, but it's highly unlikely it falls under that benchmark, given the former history of what the grosses are of final installments in the franchises.
  11. The presales for Interstellar aren't exactly overwhelming at the time. Still I think it should do decent business, because of its IMAX release and 3D ticket prices, however the current currency exchange isn't gonna help boost its result.
  12. ^HTTYD 2 is nearing 900k though now, if i'm not mistaken ?Hope it gets or even fricking crawls past 1 million mark, we need more of those 1m grossers in the chart imo.
  13. While firedeep continues seething, HTTYD2 makes up for it somewhat disappointing run so far domestically with great openings overseas. Hiccup and Toothless opened this weekend in Poland with 188 532 admissions. Adding the pre-shows it stands with 259 006 admissions. That's the best foreign movie opener in Poland this year, admissions' wise. Its gross as of now is 5 426 808lc, which is ~ 1 785 000$. Given recent atrocious business in polish cinemas that's a great result, as a sidenote HTTYD opened with 70 688 admissions and ended up with 762 846.
  14. I know most of y'all might not be pleased with me saying this, but I'm so fucking happy for Gravity getting all those nominations.Having seen this movie over 3 months ago, I still can't get over the fact it being such a remarkable feeling.I think I came across sb saying it was a good film indeed, but it'd get forgotten in the longer perspective of time. Well, I can still say looking back at the former year I gotta go with Gravity as the best movie I've seen in 2013, so much for not connecting enough with the audience to forget it imo.
  15. Finally after all those f* days I got a chance to see Frozen and man....it was awesome.I was getting Tangled vibes throughout the whole screening, laughing my ass at every second scene, which Olaf popped in and getting misty eyes on several occassions too.Lovable characters, great songs and a beautiful theme. One of my favourite if not the favourite movies from 2013.Now get that money and pass DM2 dom!
  16. screw hobbit(which i really enjoyed watching though ), where's my sexy Frozen crossing 300mln mark number ?
  17. So it's come to that when a movie is heading towards +400 fucking mln dom wise it's more about depressive, wrinkly and suicidal impression it give rather than its opening, wom and box office run
  18. geez chill out, batman's ass is safe domestically so cut it out with this bs agenda
  19. know it's a pretty unpopular opinion here, but imo TDKR is wayyy batter than TDK, which was heck of a bore. since i'm far from being a fanboy i had actually never watched TDK before i went to see TDKR in the movies last year and because i enjoyed it immensely i felt an urgent need to finally watch its predecessor. When i did so i just felt so disappointed about it, from the plot to the characters(excluding Joker).TDKR was way more captivating and enjoyable, defenitely has got a higher entertaining value to me than it's the case with TDK.
  20. or maybe it's BOM messin' around a bit, i mean, it's not like it's the only case here when it shows different gross for a certain country than on other sites, like when it is with France's Gravity gross....
  21. Exhibitor Relations ‏@ERCboxoffice 1h Top CATCHING FIRE mrkts: UK ($19.8M) BRZ ($13.6M) GER ($12.8M) OZ ($11.5M) RUS ($10.8M) MEX ($10.7M) ESP ($5.6M) SWE ($3.7M) PHI ($3.3M) bump
  22. IKR, cuz otoh CF appeals to no one so it's a lock to drop way over that 30%
  23. Seen it in your crystal ball haven't you?
