  1. I got in the truck at work today to go do an errand for my boss and when I got in it was on the classic rock/pop station and the song "Dream Weaver" was playing. I was instantly reminded of this scene- Made my day.
  2. Great thread, Baumer. I can't really say what anyone here hasn't said but yeah the HP series is an anomaly in terms of both the books and the films. There was nothing like it before and, thanks to the sheer length of the series, there may very well never be anything else like it.
  3. Sweet! Apes wasn't hurt by the World Cup much at all, nor was anything else for that matter. Thanks, Rth!
  4. Unfortunately those odds are quite slim. On the plus side, the summer is nearing an end so now studios will hopefully start focusing on the Fall/Holiday titles that could potentially breakout and redeem the underwhelming summer.
  5. $73 million seems to be on the higher end of most projections. Plus it actually went up a good bit in Saturday business which was kind of unexpected if you ask me. Should have pretty good legs for what it is, too.
  6. I guess both TF4 and Maleficent will end up passing DOFP at some point. At least Apes is overperforming, though I doubt it will have legs good enough to get it to $240-250 million. Maybe GotG can be the big breakout I hope it can be and overtake TF4. Though, still, that'd be asking a lot from it.
  7. 22.5% might be a bit low considering the World Cup. Though, hopefully Americans stopped giving a shit a while ago and this helps Apes stay under a 30% drop.
  8. How much did you have to pay for all those birthday cake candles, Tele?
  9. Well potential good news for Apes today. My roommate and I were going to the 8pm show and it was sold out 25 minutes before hand. So now we're at Taco Hell waiting for the 9pm.
  10. I completely forgot about the World Cup. Shit. Poor Apes could end up dropping over 40% on Sunday seeing how much interest for soccer (or, this World Cup, at least) has grown recently.
  11. I feel like we could write a Forrest Gump-esque story (only spanning hundreds of years instead of a few decades) with Tele as the lead character being either a part of, or an indirect influence of a ton of culturally significant American events.
  12. We can't help the fact that Tele is the only living Revolutionary War vet.
