  1. Should have happened earlier. Though this is good news, Puss in Boots was really fun.
  2. Hell yes. This is going to rule. And certainly spark a lot of controversy.
  3. What the hell. Fault falls 53% on Saturday, has an average Sunday drop, only to have a fucking 44% drop on a mid-June Monday? Fucking crazy.
  4. One of the best movie references I've ever seen in any TV show. Maybe the best.
  5. There's a "like" quota? Damn it, I was hoping one day I could make a bet with someone and whoever lost had to go through and "like" every post in the Episode VII thread.
  6. I wouldn't call it amazing but it was pretty good. A lot better than last year's bullshit.
  7. I don't expect much more from EA other than shit so nothing really bothers me. Looking forward to the Sony conference tonight though.
  8. 22JS and Dragon 2... please be the saviors of the summer.
  9. The roof for TA: AoU, domestically, is the 2015 adjusted gross for it's predecessor. Worldwide, yes, it will probably go up. Star Wars is going to be huge on both fronts though. The hype for this is going to be insane. Star Wars is the most culturally significant film series ever domestically, and if J.J. does for this what Star Trek 09 did for that series... I'm not ruling out an $800 million domestic gross. Especially factoring in holiday season legs. Worldwide for Episode VII is going to be really interesting, because a SW film hasn't been released since the rapid growth of 3D in the overseas market and the growth of certain places such as China. I guarantee you it will certainly not be a small sum, though.
  10. Maybe not necessarily bad taste, but if it isn't a superhero movie (or the occasional reboot) it's going to have a hell of a hard time finding an audience. I hate to say it but I guess "originality" is dead.
  11. The last couple of weeks it has been pretty good but overall it was pretty "meh". Like this movie was clearly an afterthought for them after Godzilla. I also wouldn't say the marketing was necessarily bad it just didn't sell the movie very well.
  12. Honestly PR fans and EoT fans need to kind of come together. Both of their movies got royally fucked by WB in terms of marketing.
  13. Looks like we're on the right path to eventually building ride-able mechs. If we ever accomplish that, I'm joining the military no questions asked.
  14. Well I'm pretty sure if you hear someone complaining about the over saturation of prequels, sequels, and reboots it'll be me. But just know I saw EoT today (and loved it) and will probably see it at least one more time or two.
  15. Oh my God. I'm not a big supporter of video game movie adaptations (I feel the forms of storytelling just don't match up well enough) but I need this to happen. Emily Blunt as Samus. Make it happen, Hollywood.
  16. Edge of Tomorrow was awesome. When I saw the first trailer I thought it looked super generic and cliche but man I haven't been this happy to have been wrong in a while. Cruise and the ridiculously sexy-fit Emily Blunt really make it worthwhile. It's also worth pointing out that it is a big action sci-fi that doesn't clock in at two and a half hours and I think that works in its favor very well. Up there with DOFP as my favorites of the year so far. It's a shame WB marketing did the exact same thing they did last year and blew their load all with Godzilla (last year MoS) and neglected EoT (last year PR) until the last two weeks. Does WB have two or more would be tentpoles next year? Who wants to take bets on which one gets the gold standard marketing and which gets the shaft?
