  1. I'd give it a B. I think the franchise as a whole is overrated, but I definitely enjoyed this one more than the first. Yeah, there's not much of a true plot of which to speak, but it was still an enjoyable experience that expanded on everything that was good about the first film.
  2. Deathly Hallows Part 2, Goblet of Fire and Prisoner of Azkaban are all my favorites, but I had to pick just one, I'd go with Prisoner of Azkaban, mostly because A Window to the Past is just amazingly beautiful.

I could go look at my ticket stubs, since I keep them all, but I'm too lazy. Total: 18
  4. 1. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire 2. Thor: The Dark World 3. X-Men: Days of Future Past 4. The Wolverine 5. Eylsium 6. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 7. Captain America: The Winter Soldier 8. Kick-Ass 2 9. Fast and Furious 7 10. Transformers 4
  5. I gave it a C. Pretty terrible film from an objective standpoint, but very entertaining.
  6. Good special effects, really strong performance from Michael Fassbender...and everything else was absolutely horrible. The movie made no sense, explained nothing (I understand that leaving some things intentionally ambiguous can be good, but it just didn't work here) and the characters are inexplicably and painfully stupid. I give it a D.
  7. I thought The Hurt Locker was overrated and I came into Zero Dark Thirty with rather low expecations. And, wow, was I surprised. Gripping, suspenseful, raw, exciting and it's all pulled together by an incredible performance by Jessica Chastain, who absolutely should've won the Oscar. Zero Dark Thirty was definitely the best film of 2012 and an A+.
  8. Funnily enough, this is probably Vin Diesel's finest acting performance (he provided the voice for the titular iron giant, in case you didn't know), but in all seriousness, it's a beautiful film that gets me teary-eyed every time I watch it. Definite A.
  9. It's great to see lots of others agree with how underrated this film is. I didn't expect to like it so much, but it really was quite beautiful actually. And Nick Nolte definitely turned in one of the best performances of 2011.
  10. I loved this film. The cinematography, as others have mentioned, was top-notch and Clive Owen was great, as was Michael Caine. Definitely worth an A.
  11. I thought Monsters University started out kinda slow, but once they got to Oozma Kappa and the Scare Games started, it definitely picked up. Overall, probably a solid B. Not Pixar's best, but still good.
  12. I enjoyed both White House Down and Olympus Has Fallen, even though I think they were both terrible movies. At least White House Down didn't take itself too seriously, but still had its fair share of ridiculous moments.
  13. Well, a lot of people would argue that Cars, and especially Cars 2, kind of tarnishes their otherwise spotless record. I've never seen either film, so I can't really speak to their quality, or lack thereof.
  14. I'm pretty sure the oldest I've seen is Snow White and Seven Dwarfs (1937), although I have started Nosferatu (1922) and just haven't been able to find the will to finish it.
  15. Wow, that's a pretty substantial difference between estimates and actuals for The Purge. I wonder if it can join the dubious club of movies that fell over 75% in their second weekends.
  16. Wow, almost $17 million on Friday for the Purge? That's more than I expected it to make over the entire weekend.
  17. 1. The Hunger Games- 8.5/10 2. Mockingjay- 8/10 3. Catching Fire- 7.5/10
  18. Books: 1. Half-Blood Prince 2. Deathly Hallows 3. Prisoner of Azkaban 4. Goblet of Fire 5. Sorceror's Stone 6. Order of the Phoenix 7. Chamber of Secrets Films: 1. Goblet of Fire 2. Half-Blood Prince 3. Deathly Hallows Part I 4. Prisoner of Azkaban 5. Deathly Hallows Part II 6. Sorceror's Stone 7. Order of the Phoenix 8. Chamber of Secrets
  19. Slumdog Millionaire is Danny Boyle's worst movie. Zero Dark Thirty is far better than The Hurt Locker. Kill Bill is my favorite Tarantino film. The Matrix Reloaded is as good or slightly better than The Matrix (but Revolutions is terrible [and the Animatrix is the single best thing to ever come from the franchise]).
