  1. Argo had a better increase than Flight. Considering that 35M+ viewers were watching the election, still very good numbers all around. But WIR had a outstanding increase. While it will go down today, it should still have a sub-30% drop this weekend due to excellent WOM.
  2. I'm seeing at least $12 million in its third weekend for Argo.
  3. Kitik definitely has a point. Someone close I know who works at the movie theaters told me that Argo's beating Paranormal today.
  4. "In general, daily declines on Monday were larger than usual for this time of year thanks in part to the third Presidential Debate taking place last night."I would not even rule out $100 million DOM just yet. Plus, this week's openers look DOA especially Cloud Atlas.
  5. It's the best movie I've seen in over a year. Since the movie was older skewed, it was probably very hurt the most. I definitely expect a big increase today.
  6. The Final Presidential debate might have hurt the adult-oriented movies. I definitely expect big bumps today.
  7. A drop in the high 60s. Good for Looper and expected for Hotel, given that most kids are in school during the week. Hotel should benefit from Columbus Day Weekend.
  8. Hollywood Reporter reported accurately last week when they projected End of Watch, Trouble with the Curve, and House at the End of Street in the $12-13M range while they project $7M OW for Dredd.
  9. Looper has sold out a few night shows and one at 9:40 (over 2 hours in advance) on 3 screens. Looper should open more than $15M. I think $20M is more realistic at this point.
  10. Looper has sold out at 6:50, 7:05, and 9:40 on 3 screens at Regal Union Stadium 14.
  11. looper did 89% of resident evil attend at usual megaplex {nm} notfabio on Sep 28, 01:02pitch perfect also did reasonably well with 120 people {nm} notfabio on Sep 28, 01:03
  12. Actually, even if TE2 opens to only Total Recall numbers, this weekend will ACTUALLY be up from last year. Last year's highest grosser was at $20M and the top ten totaled nearly $98M with the top twenty at $119M. www.boxofficeguru.com/082211.htm
  13. Yep but the buzz couldn't match that due to this movie being skewed older like "best exotic marigold hotel". I guess the demographic under 40 had no interest with it unlike The Help.
  14. Statistically, it did 68% of BU's midnights. I guess it was a mistypo and/or she was in lala land.
  15. Yep, that's not good for HS. I expected a better score. It should still get a $50M total but this could've done so much better.
  16. Where did you get the source that "Hope Springs" actually received a B CinemaScore?
  17. Nikki's lowballing Springs' 3-day portion. If it gets just $4M, it will get in the $13M range in its 3day portion with $17-18M in 5-days. For movie skewed mostly older, pretty impressive.
  18. I definitely agree, Sims. Sunday drops will be a little harsher than usual due to Closing Olympics but we could some good Saturday increases especially Springs.
  19. Although a modest number, HS rebounded itself a lot yesterday as it only dropped 3% yesterday. Even better drops than older skewed summer films like The Debt, Traitor, The American Gardener. It doesn't HAVE to make over Julie and Julia's total to be a success as it cost just $30M. Should do well overseas as most of Streep's films have successfully done well especially The Iron Lady. I see an opening day similar to Secretariat (a film that did well with critics but started off slow, yet it had a 4.5+ multiplier)
  20. I heard from a neighbor of mine when she saw Diary of a Wimpy Kid 3 today (very crowded), she liked it. Then as she and her children were getting out of the theater, she heard Total Recall was fun and her children wanted to see it next with some friends.
