  1. I've always gotten a creepy vibe from PJ Hogan's live-action "Peter Pan" from 2003. I really like the film but there's always been something mildly uncomfortable about seeing kids on that verge of ... sexual awareness, I guess? I can't put my finger on it. Maybe it's the cinematography or maybe the decision to not go "light" on the representation. It's the same vibe I got back with those Calvin Klein ads that gave off the feeling of underage porn. Remember those?
  2. Arsenic and Old Lace is a perfect comedy. Absolutely perfect.

  4. That might have been a little after my time. The fastfood restaurant hand puppets I remember are the Burger King puppets which were little more than plastic bags with his highness painted on them.
  5. Trying not to read anything on this thread just yet. The wife and I just started watching from the beginning. Plowed through about 6 episodes of season three last night, yo! Watchin' mad stacks a' eps, dawg!!... I think it's effecting my vocabulary.
  6. My early vote is Cloud Atlas. Life of Pi has too much of a What Dreams May Come flavor to its FX.
  7. Happened to watch an episode of the live-action "The Flash" series last night, and one of the guest stars reminded me of one of my favorite 80s movies that has not been mentioned.Electric Dreams. About Miles and his new Pinecone home computer who becomes self-aware after he spills champagne on it. And then Miles and the computer end up vying for the affection of Virginia Madsen who lives upstairs.
  8. It looks absolutely stunning. And hopefully with the talent attached, it can succeed in bringing in an audience despite its "out-there" element.
  9. I think it would have been more definitive in my eyes as the first part of the planned trilogy MNS had in mind. I think if the story had continued I would have finally decided that it was really good. As it is, I think there's just too much mood and silent contemplation throughout the film. The film is almost two hours long and it feels like 60 minutes of it is pretty much this:
  10. I'm a big fan of GDT and I thought both Hellboys were pretty good. But it did remind me that Blade II > Blade.
  11. I really, really hope that comes to pass (and that you are correct)
  12. He was incredibly charismatic. Especially during the interrogation scene to open the film.I got a real Michael Westen from "Burn Notice" feel from him.
  13. The only one I can come up with is Unbreakable. I want so bad to like this. Love Willis, love Jackson, love comics. Just can't bring myself to come down on either side of the fence on this one.
  14. ....aaaaaaaaand I've stopped. Really can't review this movie based on the fact that I really can't bring myself to finish it. What can I say? I don't hate myself THAT much.
  15. Actively watching this right now. I'm really liking Guy Pearce... but MAN!!!! The effects in that car chase are the worse thing I've seen since "A Sound of Thunder". I'm gonna try to keep watching it based on Telemachos' review.
  16. I had completely forgotten about that one!!! (which I guess is indicative of this entire phenomenon we're discussing, huh?)But it did have a great trailer.
  17. Don't ever let anybody get ya down, iJack. You're a good sport!!
  18. *looks sideways at his friend and whispers "With the way this thread is going, the last thing we need is........."Oh, hi, iJack. Welcome to the party.
  19. The model airplane landing in 1080p is awesome!!!! (Man, I feel dirty even jokingly ribbing this movie. That's how much I love it.)
  20. I think ROTS greatly, GREATLY benefits from being the first decent entry (in my opinion - of course it's my opinion, dang, why do I feel compelled to clarify that all the time?) in the prequels. I was one of those people who lived his whole life worshiping the OT and then I was crushed by TPM. And AOTC I couldn't stand. It frustrated me in so many ways.
  21. I know I used this just the other day but......
  22. Star Trek vs. Star Trek II: Wrath of Kahn
