    Oy, the dead of box office season is upon us. It's sad the only thing I care about is GOTG passing the $300 million mark. Happy it'll get there. But sweet Jesus, it's not fun tracking movies now. I can't wait for Maze Runner. Actually, I'm hoping Dolphin Tale 2 breaks out to $20 million or more. I did like the first one, and I might wait to see what others say if it'd be worth taking my son to.

    I'm actually in agreement with this. Dylan O'Brien and Kaya Scodelario are super talented, and the trailers look decent. I hope it breaks out.

    For me, he's still a stud/major draw! I wish the campaign for the movie had been better, but still glad it was able to cross $100 mil. I want it on DVD sooner rather than later!

    Ugh, while it's doing okay with the distribution it's received, I'm so disgusted with TWC for how they handled the whole thing. This movie could've likely done $40-50million if handled correctly. The Weinsteins are such fuckheads.

    There's a lot of good grosses spread across the board, and many off-season/unexpected hits, so in that sense, 2014 has opened up he box office a lot. It's just that it hasn't had the massive breakthrough domestically that makes tracking and theater owners really excited.

    GOTG=Massive flop. ;)I just remembered most of the discussion was that sub-30% drop for GOTG was incredible and definitely locked it for $300 mil. I'm still being cautious, but good to know others with better skills than I are saying it's locked. I noticed, actually that the estimates were rather high for IIS on Sunday too. There's part of me wondering whether some of the West Coast numbers were softer than expected. I wasn't sure about blaming the earthquake, but it possibly could've affected attendance, a little bit at least.
