any talks at your theater about shutting down 3D? It's always the animated movies that get 3D, and no one is going to pay for all that with the kids. I saw headlines for an article about how Kingsman being in IMAX 2D might help stop 3D.

I personally saw no hype for Kingsman, nor felt any. However I disagree with the morning reactions to Kingsman's mid-September preview #. That 3.4 million blew me away! It doubled Magnificent Seven which had 1.75 and a 35 weekend. Other than It, I think this is the highest Thursday preview for September BY FAR.

How is the 2d/3d selling difference for Ninjago?

These days it seems that the new openers big Tuesday jump matches the next Friday .....if its going to loose some showtimes and WOM is mediocre. I have been see it happening alot lately. Throughout the entire year, too!

I think it might drop rougher than expected in its third weekend. It should loose all premiums and IMAX. It might still sell out, but with smaller capacity.

2 movies open in 4,000 theaters this upcoming weekend and Friend Request opens in 3,000+. If Spider-Man makes 1 million next weekend, its PTA is going to have to rise.

It made 35,307,200 during weekdays last week. It dropped roughly 45.3% from last weekend minus previews. applying a 45.3% drop to the weekdays gives 19.67 million. 238.48 14-day total. Perhaps it makes 31.52 in its third weekend leaving us with a 17-day total of 270 million.

Man of Steel ended its second Sunday with 210.1 after a 41.3 million weekend. It would finish with 291 which is roughly 2x the 2nd weekend.

American Assassin - $33 The Hitman's Bodyguard - $30 Logan Lucky - $29 Baby Driver - $34 Atomic Blonde - $30 Kidnap - $21 ....... The Space Between Us - $30 Resident Evil - $40 Underworld - $35 John Wick 2 - $40 Collide - $21.5 I feel like this year is setting some kind of record for bringing the budget down, yet keeping the action high.
