They should release it in Spring. Maybe April, since Adeline did well there. Fall makes sense too but there will be a lot of competition in October.

Everything is in line with expectations. It's not a bomb, however these numbers arent that encouraging for the start of a new franchise.

The trailers weren't really laugh out loud funny either, so im not surprised.

Under normal circumstances, Tarzan would have been considered a solid performer, i mean it's going to beat IDR, Alice, TMNT 2, Warcraft and Angry Birds. No one predicted that at the start of the summer. But WB shot themselves in the foot with that 180m budget. Now it will just break even at best.

Summer 2017 does look pretty bad. What other films outside of GOTG 2 have a chance to make 300m+? Probably Spiderman: Homecoming, and Despciable Me 3 What is the Untitled Disney Live action film currently scheduled for July 28? Maybe that one too.

The BFG looked alittle too 80s. (IMO)

Illumination entertainment is bringing serious competition to Disney animation/Pixar. Their movies are easily digestible and cute. Is Central Intelligence Kevin Hart's best holding movie? That must be The Rock's contribution. The SHallows continues to hold on, looking like a 55-60m finish. The BFG was dumped, Disney clearly didn't care sticking it between Dory and Pets. The less said about IDR, the better.

Yup. But that trend will likely end in September. That month looks pretty solid; I could see Sully, Mag 7 and Storks all doing 100m+

It took awhile but I feel like we're finally in summer movie season. Hopefully Ghostbusters next week keeps the momentum going.

Me Before You has quietly made 138m WW, talk about a sleeper hit.

I think this squeaks past 60m as well. The weekdays have been good and The Purge 3 didn't hurt it as badly as it could have.

Its gonna be hard to make up for DH2. Where is that extra 100m going to come from? Ghostbusters has to really break out in order to break the record, because right now it's looking like that is going to be the slowest week in July.

Wow Tarzan is really over performing. I guess people were desperate for some entertainment this weekend. I don't expect it to have good legs though, Ghostbusters, Star Treknow Beyond and Bourne should kill it.

Miles Teller just seems like a douchebag, not as likable as Michael B. Jordan. This is doing 30-35m tops.

I thought Brie Larson got the Captain Marvel job? I would have gone with Emily Blunt. Yes a Black Widow stand alone would work and they should have made that already; I think Harley Quinn works best as a supporting character, she would get tiring leading a film. (imo)

I agree. Lively has made a case for herself to be considered for lead blockbuster roles. Atleast more than these bland white dudes that HW has been trying to push (Liam Hemsworth, Jai Courtney)
