  1. Lucy could be good or could be horrendous, either way I don't think it's making any money sadly.
  2. I on the other hand would be a really sad panda.
  3. Aren't all summers lately like this though? It's weird, this summer has had glowingly reviewed movies (especially compared to last years) yet all of them are underperforming.
  4. Nearly all of the movies this summer have been getting glowing reviews, when the worst reviewed movies of the summer are Blended and A Million Ways to Die in the West (both financial flops and Blended said to be one of Sandler's better films and Million Ways to Die said to be funny but plotless), and only two other rotten movies (barely rotten TASM2 and Maleficent) you know it's a good summer. Sadly, July is looking to be very weak with the exception of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and Tammy.
  5. I agree, I had only seen Tangled once before and really liked it, I decided to re-watch it lately and absolutely loved it (more than I liked Frozen). It's weird though, my opinion of Frozen has decreased since I saw it, I have found a lot more flaws with it (it's less focused, and despite some glorious moments, it drags a lot by feeling more like a rough draft than a final product). Tangled is a lot more focused which makes its glory moments even stronger because everything is properly built up to, which gives all of its moments the edge for me (even if Frozen might have had technically better individual moments). I have to say I really do think Tangled is a good step above Frozen, and I kind of think without Tangled or Wreck-It Ralph Frozen wouldn't have seen its take off, because I believe WDAS was able to build up enough new-credibility with those two movies that it created a condition (mixed with no competition plus a spiraling WoM) for it to soar. I do think Frozen has the distinct edge when it comes to music, Tangled doesn't utilize its music as well as Frozen did, however I still wish Disney musicals would stick with it and start a musical and end a musical. In almost all Disney musical movies the First Act is cram-packed with fun songs and then the second act is barren of any, with Frozen it was especially apparent because it was a full-out musical for a good portion in the first act and then the music stopped, it created a jarring tonal shift.
  6. That's great news for you! Congrats! Ironically for me your freeze on SOTM questions happens to be the same two weeks I'm going on a personal vacation to Colorado (where I won't be in areas with reception).
  7. I am 5th, sadly I am going to lose 56k points soon for SOTM and that's going to drop me like a bomb.
  8. I guess TFIOS isn't all that popular in Canada? Hmm this is really interesting.
  9. Time for some announcements (This isn't getting cancelled!) Sorry for not posting any in a while, I just flew back from New York, however I had a friend who offered me a chance to go to Colorado for a 2 week camping trip, given the stresses of lately and the fact I usually try to go once a year to destress I will be going and for those two weeks I won't be posting at all (I'm heading down saturday). I'll be back for the first week of July, but the day after the 4th I have to head down to Illinois for business for a week and a half. Because of all of this franticness in my schedule I won't be posting any new rounds until I am back from Illinois. However! If people want to keep this running despite my prolonged absence they are more than able to do so, until I get back from Illinois anybody has the option to post new threads in the manner I was, just make sure they have 3-4 days between them. Just make sure you post the links in the threads so when I get back I am able to update the main thread.

  15. If it keeps having minuscule drops like that from now on 120m shouldn't be a problem. I'm really curious to see how it plays out for the rest of the week now.
  16. I kind of think that it should pick up legs from here, WoM is really good, so I could see a really frontloaded opening day and then it plays out strong after that one large drop.
