  1. Yep it started stronger than the last installment but there is a long way to go to reach and pass $550M overseas...that's FF6 territory and those numbers were done by overperforming and increasing significantly in every country.. Here you have TASM2 opening low in certain markets, very good in others, then having bad legs. Asia opened greatly and could compensate the underwhelming european take but it needs great legs in Asia to really be able to not only compensate but soar above the $550M. And with competition coming round the corner, i don't see it generating that kind of revenues.. I mean, i think, it will be around $250 - $260M foreign this weekend and will need another $300+M to reach the likes of $570M to have a chance to reach $800M ww... And don't forget that this is its third weekend in a lot of markets, it will already lose a lot of theater counts by next weekend just like CA2 was out of my cinema after a whole 3 weeks only... to make room for Spidey. So basicly it is running out of steam in Europe where you could add maybe another $50M. It needs at the very least another $270M more in Asia and South America. I just don't see it at this point.
  2. It's not franchise fatigue...more like reboot and history rehashing fatigue. When you follow a successful, hence objectively (by the numbers) beloved franchise why rehashing the same story with your own twist? By doing so, you just invite even more the comparison for better or worse and therefore increase the chance of a sizable audience target to be unimpressed and let down. Most 20+ years old rememberred clearly the Raimy's trilogy. That's a lot of people who will compare the different versions of the same story...it's therefore likely that many of them will prefer one over the other and won't feel invested in this new version. I said, go on with the story instead of rehasing and inviting more comparison. If they had done this from the get go instead of retelling the origin story, instead of re-introducing the Goblin, they would have been more successful dealing with new characters in a more coherent way and lessen that comparison effect. Just advance into the story, deepen it, enriched it instead of retelling it on your own terms..
  3. I don't see it. It will require a $550+M overseas take. $700M is a safe bet with $450 -$490M international revenues.
  4. I also think TASM2 will be more vulnerable against counter program movies like comedies and Neighbors can hurt it prematuraly more badly than we expect. I hope it will do gangbuster business for the next two weeks at least, otherwise, it will start losing larger numbers of theaters counts too soon, especially since it started with 400+ more theaters than CA2, which is in itself one of the largest number to start with.

  9. iI agree with Pepsa. I live in Brussels and in my UGC cinema, CATWS had to be removed after barely three weeks, three all weeks to give twice as much room to Spider-Man. I never saw this with any of the previous marvel Phase 2 movie. Just like I never saw a phase two movie being released without having advertisment, nor poster no nothing...the little poster above the movie was released during the night before the release day...i know it cause i went to have my ticket the day before and asked the employee if it was gonna be released cause there were no mention of it, no poster no nothing...other countries have experienced the same. So CATWS has been pulled out of my cinema while it was barely starting to be known for the general audience that it was out. If anything it's CATWS that should have been hit hard and not Spider Man, the Marvel favourite hero whose multiple big posters, TV spots were everywhere to be seen 4 weeks already before its release.
  10. Basicly, it has to break out in China to make up for the potential loss elsewhere and increase a bit over TASM's $490 M. It has to reach the likes of $90 - $100M in China and not drop over $50% in the other opened markets for the next 3 weeks to have a chance to reach $500 - $530M overseas. I think $550M is dead and $440 - $490 is more likely.
  11. Here is a clear link about the video https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=613309785408781&set=vb.205024222904008&type=3&theater And to reply to your question, i think this could hint an IM4.

  16. Insulting fellow posters over the internet over a damn movie is pretty laughable and ridiculous too...just sayin. It's just a movie. Nothing serious to get upset about...
  17. I can't see $500 M with that number unless it breaks out hard in one or two big markets.
