As of today, total domestic at the same period of time (10 days run) for sheer comparison Thor The Dark World has reduced its $6 millions gap from opening weekend consistently.

Well, they are already roughly at $1 million from each other at the same point on the domestic front. TASM2 has Memorial day, TTDW had Thanksgiving and Christmas hollidays later on its run. So it can really go both way domestically. They will finish close to each other, that's for sure.

Basicly, it's China, France and Brasil that will dictate the outcome on the overseas gross. With no competition for two weeks (including one weekend), China is likely to add $40 to $50M depending on how people will keep on responding. Brasil and France are the one whose progression may be hit harder by Godzilla since the other markets are already running out of steam. Japan has a chance to add a few millions too before DOFP comes in. The Godzilla release may also be stronger than usual if people flock en masse to see it before DOFP released the next wednesday the 21th earliest (France and Belgium). So it could be a two punch straight for Spidey. I beleive next weekend will seal its fate. If it can generate enough cash while facing Godzilla cause after that, i don't see how it could generate tens of millions from those markets between Godzilla and DOFP. For me, it has to reach at the very least $475 M by next sunday to have a shot at $500M overseas.

YEP But it all depends on how those countries respond to Godzilla versus Spidey. Besides, France has a lot of local comedies that are doing a killing right now.

Depends on which market. I think it is running dry in Europe (as Godzilla is released 4 weeks after it on Wednesday) so maybe : 1) another $10M from Europe, 2) $50M in China to hit $105M, 3) $10M in Japan to hit $32M. 4) $10M in the rest of Asia It needs another roughly $20 million from South America to hit $500M. Brasil is the one in a better position to make up for it as it was released there 2 weeks ago but Godzilla is hitting Brasil on Thursday. So it will get very close.

This. It's likely but not a lock. Gozzilla is opening on wednesday already in one 1/3 of the countries (mainly Europe), then another 1/3 on thursday (mainly South America) and then the rest on Friday (US+Canada + mainly Asia bar China and Japan). It's good for Spidey that it will be released in June.

Gozzilla is opening on wednesday in a lot of markets, then on thursday in a lot more of them, then on friday for the last ones bar China and Japan. I think it will start hurting tremendously a lot of movie starting on wednesday.
