Ghostbusters had some pretty solid matinee numbers in my showing. King Richard unfortunately was relatively empty, but the audience that was there seemed to eat it up.

Are there rumours of allegations? Or is this just speculation?

Either King Richard is underperforming BIG TIME in Canada, or this thing is looking at less than a 2M OD... With regards to Ghostbusters, WC numbers in the great white north are okay, but it seems to be playing particularly strong in the prairies...

Okay am I the only one thinking people might be underestimating this movie? I don’t think it looks amazing, but Venom did have its box office detractors before it came out. honestly unless it’s Fant4stic level bad, I don’t have a problem with predicting over 100M domestic for this.

I remember in 2013 people saying that a Best Visual Effects nom for Pacific Rim would get it a “significant” box office boost lmao

Soho’s doing better than Bad Times at the El Royale here for what it’s worth. Based on business in my area, 10M wouldn’t surprise me. But I live in a university town that’s also full of old people too so, probably overindexing here a bit.

FWIW my theater just gave up Ghostbusters to the competition in a deal that secured us Nightmare Alley. I guess they’re banking big on Guillermo.

Antlers is running around 75% of Soho in my region tonight. We’ll see how the night progresses. Also, if Eternals does underperform, id like to point out that it was never selling particularly strong in my area 😛

Oh god please don't tell me that's going to happen. 2.5 years later, the only things I hear about Cap Marvel irl are the whole "go woke go broke" idiots, or on the other end the people who get all up in arms that you hate diversity when you tell them it's not your favourite marvel movie ever.

Eternals was never SUPER strong at my theater. But that might be because Dune and Bond have been sucking all the oxygen (Bond opened to our equivalent of ~115M locally, and Dune ~105M... insane). Last Night in SoHo is selling decently, wouldn’t be surprised if it can pull 10M, but my area is usually strong for arthouse content, and A24 type stuff so it’ll play well here regardless I guess. the competition got Dispatch and Antlers so I don’t have much way of tracking either of them this week unfortunately.
