  1. Denny is meant to be a teenager. Hi Denny!
  2. Went to the Titanic museum in Belfast today as I fell in love with the movie last week. Really moving and gives you a sense of scale of just how colossal the Titanic was. Such a tragedy. Really good museum, if anyone goes to that part of Ireland definitely check it out. It also made me realise the attention to detail that Cameron gave the movie. The decoration of the ship is exact. But also, and I found this really moving... in the museum it shows lots and lots of pictures of passengers, and names them and tells their story. And I noticed several of these were in the film. Not named characters, just extras, but Cameron had clearly taken an effort to find appropriate actors and clothes etc to memorialise these people. Thought that was very touching.
  3. You fanatics are crazy. That's literally James Cameron standing in front of a generic still image of Pandora.
  4. Lmao that was autocorrect. I promise. Meant to say makes movies that people like.
  5. Anyone actually surprised that it's well received? Spielberg always Jews movies that purple like. Doesn't mean it is going to make money.
  6. Yeah. Mamma Mia is the 10th highest grossing film of all time. In the US that spot is held by Beauty and the Beast with $500M so yeah it was not a small film..
  7. Not sure Edge of Seventeen is a great example since it grossed $600,000 only. I would expect Avengers, Jurassic World, Mary Poppins and Mamma Mia to beat it.
  8. Watching SWAT, Jeremy Renner sounds 16 years old. Let's guess he's going to be the twist villain?
  9. Sad to hear of Stephen Hawkings death. Dude really grabbed life by the balls rather than just sitting around waiting to die as a lot of terminally ill people do. He lived in my town and you would bump into him regularly, he was always out and about, I've seen him in some bizarre places. He also attended my high school prom as guest speaker, he is a good guy in my books.
  10. Uh oh. Girl-from-work-who-i-kind-of-like-but-has-a-boyfriend wants to hook up when I'm back from holiday. Last time we met up she hadn't told me she was taken so I didn't feel bad. But I probably should feel bad this time.
  11. Just gone away for a few days with my mum. Got a pat down at the airport by a nice little blonde, and I only realised afterwards that there was some stuff in my pocket that fortunately she missed... I think that makes me an international drug smuggler? Which is pretty cool I guess
  12. To quote Michael Keaton in the trailer for Spiderman: "World's changing. Time we changed too."
  13. It was a joke, I'm just referring to how terrible the movies are, I'm aware they made money.
  14. Disney fucked up when they made pirates in the first place. Should have left it as a fairground ride.
  15. Man, Avatar is good. Need more filmmakers like James Cameron. Can't wait for sequels.
  16. Why does the panther in avatar have the same sound effect roar as Jurassic Park's t-rex?
  17. Watching Avatar and Stephen Lang just did the pose in ironjimbo's avatar... now I keep seeing him as Jimbo and not his character.
  18. Yeah... I get regular nose bleeds, thing is I haven't even done it in a couple of days, it seems random when I get the nose bleeds.
  19. Really annoyed, I'm going on holiday for a few days and get back Friday, so I'm gonna miss Gringo. Can't imagine it stays in cinemas more than 1 week and I haven't had the chance to see it this weekend On the plus side, I think annihilation will be on Netflix when I get back
  20. Only a matter of time before fatigue kicks in. Any second now...
  21. Only a success because of its low budget. That was what I meant by the cheaper ones did okay. you get what i mean.
  22. No but unfortunately all of the original projects they've made have flopped. Here's a complete list of their 'original' live-action movies (i.e. not franchise and not fairytale remake) that cost over $50M from the past 5 years: 2018: Wrinkle in Time 2017: none 2016: The BFG, The Finest Hours, Pete's Dragon 2015: Tomorrowland 2014: Into the Woods, Need for Speed 2013: The Lone Ranger Every single one of them underperformed. The cheaper ones - Pete's Dragon 65M, Into the Woods 50M, and Need for Speed 66M - they didn't lose much or maybe turned a profit, because of their lower budgets. But all the expensive stuff, it has all flopped.
  23. Okay, let me put it this way. Here are all the Spielberg movies I have seen. They are all better than those 5, therefore those are my bottom 5. Duel Jaws Close Encounters Raiders ET Poltergeist Indy 2 Indy 3 Hook Jurassic Park The Lost World Saving Private Ryan Minority Report Catch Me If You Can War of the Worlds Indy 4 War Horse Bridge of Spies The Post
