  1. especially since it opened as a 4 day so the 3 day is weaker. the drop from the 4day opening is 54%.
  2. get a faster car and overtake everyone, that's what I do. someone is annoying me just floor it and fly past them.
  3. Okay so you're suggesting because The Abyss literally goes further down below the sea than any Star Wars movie does, it's a deeper movie? I would also suggest that the size of a whole galaxy in SW is considerably larger than the depth underwater in the Abyss
  4. So because Avatar has a bigger world it has more depth than the avengers? What ?
  5. the camera just seemed to be so far away to have been attached, even though it felt like it was attached.
  6. yeah I liked that too, not sure how they got that, I'm guessing the car is stationary and it's all green screen?
  7. 25 billion is much less than 5 billion when its 31 movies vs 2. I do not understand why you're comparing two original James Cameron films to decades-old franchises that have 4 movies every single year.
  8. The author of "How Star Wars Conquered The Universe" says Star Wars has sold around $42 billion. That was in 2015 before the new movies which have brought in $4.5B in box office alone. Struggling to think of any other movie that could possibly have made more than $50B+
  9. it will finish under jurassic world. It has to. and if it doesn't then at least jurassic world adjusts to 725M
  10. I think you will find that the biggest film of all time is in fact Disney/Pixar's CARS (2006), which grossed $462M in its theatrical run, $337M in domestic DVD sales, and then $10 billion in merchandise sales.
  11. I already said that Star Wars is bigger, 5 movies over 800M no other franchise comes close. But you keep talking about Marvel and how they're the biggest franchise. You keep repeating this bizarre claim that Black Panther is a bigger financial success than Avatar, which is just... I dont even know. Black Panther is a great hit in its own right, why do you need to delude yourself into thinking it's the biggest movie of all time?
  12. Not sure why Zack Snyder is still in this conversation but: "Black Panther / Disney's Star Wars are financially superior to Avatar / SW Prequels" Black Panther: ~650M Force Awakens: 992M Rogue One: 555M Last Jedi: 620M Total: 2817M Avatar: 893M TPM: 829M AOTC: 491M ROTS: 544M Total: 2757M So.. I guess your four arbitrary movies grossed $50M more than the other four arbitrary movies? I mean I really dont see what your point is. Until Avatar 2 is out we won't know how strong Avatar really is domestically, but the first one is clearly on the same par as Force Awakens, for whatever that's worth.
  13. well then I eagerly await the day when I can look at all time adjusted domestic and see that a Marvel movie outgrosses either AVATAR (893M) or TITANIC (1244M). I'm happy to agree that Star Wars is the biggest franchise domestic - it has 5 movies over 800M domestic.
  14. First of all seems a little unreasonable to use Titanic's gross at face value given that it was 20 years ago. Okay so its 2.2B unadjusted. The US figure is 1.2B adjusted, if that's 30% of the gross then the total would be 4B. And that's before china etc. Also you're comparing 2 movies against a series that's 18 films in so far, and "by 2020" I'm assuming you are adding two SW films + 8 MCU films, in total that's 31 movies that you say will gross 25 billion. Versus two movies that make 5 billion. I have no idea what point you are trying to make. Are you trying to tell us that Disney is making more films than James Cameron makes? Not really new information.
  15. oh look at you, aren't you special, just have to disagree with everyone else.
  16. Raiders of the Lost Ark v. Titanic Jaws v. Star Wars: A New Hope The Godfather v. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back v. The Dark Knight
