  1. why is that your least favourite winner? did it not have an epic box office run? It's gonna end with close to 20x multiplier. When was the last time a wide release movie did that? (hint, the answer is TITANIC)
  2. havent really liked any of the wins so far but at least rick & morty didn't win best TV show
  3. Tempted to go see Titanic tomorrow but can't decide. Always thought it was a bit crap but its been a while since I seen it in full, and never saw it on the big screen before.
  4. I have a sneaking suspicion that either get out or lady bird will win BP so i placed bets on both of them.
  5. Watching Predator. Finding it very thrilling
  6. Churchill talks about eggs several times in Darkest Hour too, he says like it's the only food he knows how to cook
  7. I was being sarcastic. The marketing has seemed to focus on nothing but jennifer lawrence's nudity...
  8. this is the thing I don't like about rotten tomatoes and other aggregate sites. the film is being quite divisive - the positive reviews are really enthusiastic, and the negative reviews are well, really negative. Yet its 51% RT score suggests that it is average/mediocre, despite almost no critic saying that it is. Same goes for mother! which half people hated and half loved, yet that says it is average.
  9. can't grow a beard??? what kind of man are you?? and you had a DREAM ABOUT TIMOTHEE CHAMAGAY??? are you gay???
  10. http://www.thetrcompany.com/en/difference-between-pajamas-and-pyjamas/ Pajamas is the preferred spelling in American English, while pyjamas is preferred in the main varieties of English from outside North America. Canadian usage in this century is inconsistent, though pyjamas appears to have the edge. So literally the entire world spells it pyjamas, but Americans just have to have it their own special way.
  11. the English spelling (i.e. the correct spelling) is pyjamas, whoever invented the american language is evidently too stupid to comprehend a Y so they use an A instead.
  12. why do americans spell it pajamas? like can americans spell ANYTHING correctly?
  13. amazing how savage the Chinese box office can be. MH2 opened significantly higher than DC2 and now it's only managing 1/5 of its daily gross
  14. while we're on the topic, I've always loved that Robocop is symmetrical, all the events up to about halfway through the movie then are repeated in reverse order. I'm probably being thick and you guys all know this already but have a read of this article: https://dejareviewer.com/2014/04/29/cinematic-chiasmus-robocop-is-almost-perfectly-symmetrical-film/
  15. his filmography is full of good movies. You have the trilogy in the wrong order though. Starship Troopers > Total Recall = RoboCop.
  16. yeah it's a different take in the film with a slightly different line. I'll take bets if you're feeling confident And yeah my friends are all my age, around 20 who have had kids and you really can't tell. Even so, i really dont think you can tell if someone has had a kid by looking at their arse. I should know... i spend a lot of time looking at arses. Thanks. Interesting that they had such lightweight equipment, I had assumed there was some trickery because a camera rig would be too heavy for that distance, but apparently not I think this is one of the best things about the film, the way it is shot. So much better than 99% of comedies, full of interesting and engaging visuals.
  17. How would you fall asleep with Gary Oldman screaming about tigers in your ear?
  18. Darkest Hour is pretty meh apart from Gary Oldman's shouty performance. If you watch the trailer you've seen the best bit anyway. American Made is good fun and you might learn something, Logan Lucky is fab.
  19. A deep-sea submersible—part of an international undersea observation program—has been attacked by a massive creature, previously thought to be extinct, and now lies disabled at the bottom of the deepest trench in the Pacific…with its crew trapped inside. With time running out, expert deep sea rescue diver Jonas Taylor (Statham) is recruited by a visionary Chinese oceanographer (Winston Chao), against the wishes of his daughter Suyin (Li Bingbing), to save the crew—and the ocean itself—from this unstoppable threat: a pre-historic 75-foot-long shark known as the Megalodon. What no one could have imagined is that, years before, Taylor had encountered this same terrifying creature. Now, teamed with Suyin, he must confront his fears and risk his own life to save everyone trapped below…bringing him face to face once more with the greatest and largest predator of all time.
  20. it dropped 30% last wednesday, 6.8 would be 33%, dont really see the problem here? Unless... unless... Black Panther is c r u m b l i n g
