I think it's concerning that the issue of racism in the film industry is being pinpointed on the Oscars. As misafeco pointed out, there have been plenty of black nominees/winners. As for having all-white acting nominees for the past two years... well the Academy cannot nominate black actors if there are only a few black-led movies. It's not the Academy's fault that black people don't have the same chances. Although I would argue black is not the most underrepresented minority by a long shot. Has there ever been an openly gay winner?
However I am glad that people are waking up to the fact that awards are a load of rubbish and don't actually mean anything.
Never heard of Key and Peele, so I can't complain that it feels like old material. I laughed more than once in the trailer... generally a good indicator for the movie.
Looking forward to this weekend. Room, Big Short, Our Brand is Crisis, 5th Wave, Ride Along 2, The Assassin, Dirty Grandpa, unfortunately I can't make it to any of the Labyrinth showings on around here though
I wasn't a fan, but couldn't understand why not. There's a 35mm showing nearby in a couple of months, I reckon that's the perfect time to revisit it and figure out my feelings.

I just finished watching the film half hour ago. What on earth are you talking about? Simon manipulates and controls his wife, her friendships, her work life, her health, both physical and mental. He was not a loving husband, that's why two thirds through the film Robyn tells him to his face that she is sick of him bullying her, and why she leaves him at the end.
Not a sociopath? He lies about absolutely everything to manipulate others for personal gain... that's the definition of a sociopath or psychopath.
