Pretty much every cinema is digital, I don't personally know of any cinemas which have not made the move to digital - although there are still some which have film projectors that they can use from time to time. -
99% of the time, projectionists have nothing to do with the film once it's playing. they set it up at the beginning of the week, they turn the projectors on when they get to work in the morning, and that's it. So there's not even that.

Perhaps Disney should make theaters show The Revenant at showings of Good Dinosaur instead of the correct film, see if the kids would notice.

stunning visuals/cinematography =/= 3D

there's a line in the opening scene where JGL speaks to the audience as narrator, and he literally says, "I am not une American, ahhh but I bet you could not tell zhat already from my accént!" I was very tempted to leave the cinema... but I'm glad I stayed.

that's how I felt about every 3D movie until I saw The Walk.

None of those benefitted from 3D, THE WALK is the only film to have ever used 3D successfully (in my opinion).
