  1. So it's part speculation and part facts. How come he has "raw data", where does he work?
  2. I'm new on this forum, would someone mind explaining why Rth's numbers are always so important? Everyone seems to ask for them in every thread Also, I know people joked that GotG could beat Mockingjay, but this is... actually feasible, right?
  3. "blankments likes this" coming in about 3 seconds edit: I was correct, I am God
  4. Imo they felt really cheesy and didn't fit the tone of the films at all.
  5. $130.2 is my prediction. ((CF OW - IMAX)+(CF Thurs multiplier x 17))/2 = 130.2 This kinda assumes half the audience is GA and half are fans, which is almost certainly a completely false ratio, but hey, it's a number, it'll do. Jealous >_< mine are £10 ($16)
  6. I must be going crazy. Read the updated article several times and didn't see that paragraph... lol. (Obviously it won't drop that much since the Thursday night shows are just fans, whereas the whole weekend includes GA.)
  7. Sure, but those films did not drop on opening night, so it's not the same as this. Where does it say that?
  8. Deathly Hallows 1 was up 8%, and Breaking Dawn 1 was on par with Eclipse. Mockingjay is down 32%.
  9. I'm in the UK and it's $29 for to see Interstellar in IMAX, dunno how much more a 3D IMAX show would be. Didn't realise it was so cheap in America! Your IMAX 3D is way cheaper than our bog standard 2D cinemas ($13).
  10. Okay, let's assume I'm a parent with a child (or multiple children). I have a job, I have hobbies, I have a husband and a family. If I take my kid to see BH6 on a Saturday, there's no way in hell that I, in my busy life, am taking him again and again on that same day/weekend. Now I don't actually have kids but I don't know any parent who would do this.
  11. The "creditbility" of my points - that the movie needs to connect with kids of today and it may not achieve that - is not affected by my knowledge of this IP. Also I am really not convinced that these "charecters" are popular worldwide. I have heard of Charlie Brown and Snoopy, I can even identify Snoopy - but didn't know where they were from, whether it was a TV show or whatever. I didn't know what "Peanuts" was.
  12. I haven't heard of Peanuts but I will take the word of the people in this that it's well known in America. However, what worked with previous generations of kids is not by default going to connect to the current generation, which will be the primary audience for this. An animated film can't rely solely on old fans. And with the dull CGI style, the lack of action, and a generally younger feel, its chances of connecting to kids today are not amazingly high. Lol! I agree, worldwide it will be below Rio 2. I'm not sure it will do $300m overseas though.
  13. There are lots of films that I know I will see but am not "excited for" per se (e.g. Furious 7), so here's a list of the ones I am actually looking forward to - American Sniper Taken 3 Blackhat Mortdecai Fifty Shades of Grey Hot Tub Time Machine 2 Cinderella In the Heart of the Sea #5 Avengers: Age of Ultron Mad Max: Fury Road Tomorrowland #3 Jurassic World #2 Magic Mike XXL Ant-Man Pan The Fantastic Four London Has Fallen The Jungle Book The Martian Star Wars Episode VII #1 Mission: Impossible 5 #4
  14. The scale of the CGI is amazing in that film. But... JAKESULLY?!
  15. Yes, most do, but those are generally annual programs. The OP is talking about a system where you pay an increased ticket fee, and instead of getting one ticket to a specific movie, you can see that one movie as many times as you want over the weekend.
  16. I don't really think there is much of a market for this. Not many people see the same film multiple times in cinemas, let alone multiple times in the same weekend.
  17. To be fair to you, I haven't seen Tom Hardy in much. First film I saw of him was TDKR, and I couldn't fathom how anyone could find Bane attractive body-wise*. He's just large, not toned at all. Might be muscle but you'd be hard pressed to tell. *facially Bane is gorgeous
  18. What do you mean "rigged by voters"? That doesn't make a lot of sense. It comes down to this: People who love or hate a film are more likely to vote on it compared to people who were a bit more middling; as well as films/actors/directors with large fan bases, or large groups of people who hate them. These people aren't giving average scores, they are giving amazingly high ones or amazingly low ones. This results in the average being inflated for some films, and decreased for some as well.
  19. So I just watched The Prestige. My #1 must be changed!
  20. Then don't post if you don't want to list hot guys. I hope you don't hate me for putting Tom Hardy at #53 haha.
  21. Lol what This thread is pretty pointless if it's just about what films you want to be the best or are most excited about. As for me, best films have been: 1) Dawn of the Planet of the Apes 2) Pride 3) Guardians of the Galaxy But why not throw The Hobbit on there as well, since I'm excited for that... or something.
  22. Pride Noah Edge of Tomorrow Dracula Untold Need for Speed Transformers (I'm joking)
