  1. Lol I don't remember anything before the age of about 13. (23 now) barely anything at all
  2. So do you think i am Millennial or Gen Z? The Pew Research Center defines "Post-Millennials" as those born from 1997 onward for Bloomberg, Generation Z was born between 1997 and 2012 The American Psychological Association starts Generation Z at 1997
  3. Oh wow I just found out that the main character in WATCHMEN is called @Rorschach!
  4. Oh, this dumpster fire of a forum will ensure Spider-Verse is #1, don't you worry about that...
  5. Baby boomer is late 40s - 1960 or so. That 9/11 is a strange thing to choose, not sure what you mean by remembering 9/11. That would also differ depending on where you live, e.g. I was 5 years old at 9/11 so do not remember it, however, if I was living in New York when i was 5, maybe more likely to remember.
  6. @Witch Hunted Away (still cant believe he changed his name to that....) ban ends next week. Whether he will actually come back, who knows. But he would know more about the recession. I don't understand such things. jimbo is still kicking around, less active at the moment dunno why. Box office is dead atm so forum's a bit quieter.
  7. That's easy to say if the production went as intended. If that was the case this film would have been out last year. Disney has said they dislike the current state of the film. Therefore, in order to finish the film to the standard they want, they would have to spend more money - whether it involves reshoots or just more time in the editing room. Either way if people are working on the film then it costs money. Because you have to pay people for their work. There is no way around this. If they think it is unsalvageable then they have a decision to make as to whether the revenue it generates will sufficiently outweigh the extra money it costs. Or they can just write it off as a sunk cost. after all, Disney have not directly spent any of their own money on this film so probably easy for them to just say lets not spend anything at all and just abandon it.
  8. Still distribution costs, and I mean, is the film even finished? If they still need to spend money on the movie to finish it... if that is the case I could well see Disney just pulling everything and shelving the film (don't want to tarnish Disney brand by releasing an unfinished film on disney+) permanently and it never sees the light of day.
  9. If they don't believe they will see a return on $25 million extra spent on this film, then it would make business sense to just not release it - or rather, just stick it on Disney+ (which genuinely doesn't have distribution costs and can choose to spend no marketing)
  10. 40% from 30 reviews on RT. Interesting that some reviews call it a "hilarious comedy" and others call it a "boring drama". I'm looking forward to seeing it, just hope it gets a theatrical release near me. i'd have thought it should, even Last Flag Flying got a one off screening.
  11. If I posted a comment/review every time I watched this film... this would be the longest thread in the forum lol.
  12. Dredd is good, every time I flick past it on TV i end up watching the whole thing.
  13. HYPE Bella Thorne is directing an adult film — and her fans from her Disney Channel days are shook https://www.yahoo.com/entertainment/bella-thorne-is-directing-an-adult-film-and-her-fans-from-her-disney-channel-days-are-shook-130423029.html
  14. I saw the trailer for this in front of Apocalypse Now last week and I am less inclined than I was vbefore to say it will not do well. It does not look like too tough a sell, looks more appealing than First Man.
  15. Good article. Interesting nugget here: Wonder if Universal will be able to sell rights off to other distributors internationally, where people would not be offended by references to American politics. Then again, one must question the appeal of a film about American politics, to non-American countries.
  16. 2021 now looks quite strong. Avatar 2 is set to definitely release, so we could have a new king of the world. In terms of Marvel: To somewhat surprise, the opposite has happened. Marvel will release Thor 4, and Doctor Strange & Scarlet Witch movie. And Shang-Chi their first Chinese superhero. For DC, there is a new Batman film, and a Suicide Squad reboot. There's Jurassic World 3, after JW2 did well despite predictions that it would plummet from the first. Good year for Action genre: Fast and Furious 10, another Billie for that. Mission Impossible 7, after MI6's franchise heights. John Wick 4, a new franchise has been cemented and probably grows again. Indiana Jones 5 is scheduled for this year, and Ford and Spielberg have said they intend to shoot in 2020. Animation wise: Not much announced but slots are there for - Paramount animation - Boss Baby 2 - Hotel transylvania 4 - Tom & Jerry - Pixar film - WDAS film PLUS all the unannounced films, and pencilled in "DC live action", "Disney live action" etc. I suppose one of those Disneys will be THe Little Mermaid.
  17. Volkswagen Golf commercial has been banned because it shows a woman looking after a baby... under new "Anti-stereotype advertising rules" I hate to sound like a 'PC gone mad' type person ... but serious... this is PC gone mad. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-49332640 I really dislike this level of government overreach trying to tell us what to think.
  18. More like £85m. It made £9.2m this week. and 3 weeks left of school holidays.
  19. coolio you are genuinely a really smart guy. I bet that is actually what happens.
  20. We did it occasionally when I worked in a cinema, would have a social night in the biggest screen where the manager bought us pizza and beer and let us plug in a playstation to the projector. It's one of those things that sounds really cool but after about 3 minutes is very unexciting.
  21. Why is he a hack? Disney clearly don't think so, given that they've hired him to direct 4 major movies in a row. A director doesn't have to be some "artiste", an auteur. The job of the director is to guide the production from start to finish, and end up providing the studio with a complete film as intended. I would argue given the success of the films he directed, he did his job perfectly well. He seems to have proven that he knows how to manage the production of a musical (he's made 4 now) - which makes him somewhat suited to The Little Mermaid. There is nothing wrong with being a "director-for-hire", when it comes to this kind of franchise/studio film where most creative decisions are made above the director's pay grade.
  22. Playing PS4 on cinema screen is nowhere near as fun as it should be. Everything looks awful due to resolution.
