  1. Will Dragon Tattoo creep past $100?
  2. I will be observing TDKR final gross compared to TDK to better predict Avatar 2. Mathematically I think they are directly proportionate and the general consensus is that neither sequel will outgrows its monster predecessor.
  3. This is great... Why wouldn't people go watch it? It had the best advertising and release date possible for this film... I can't wait to go see this, gotta catch this epic ending in person!
  4. I know a bunch of high school crowds going to see TDI, and I'll be in attendance Sunday night.
  5. In orderPhantom MenaceThe Amazing SpidermanThe Dark Knight RisesThe Hobbit 1The Hobbit 2
  6. I love the abbreviations... Makes you think a little
  7. I say DT will have to wait on the adults, it'll have a better than expected Friday number
  8. Industry is tough right now.. We may see budgets start to slowly go down, maybe not significantly but I'm sure studios will be tighter.
  9. I wonder how much the weekend grosses of MI4 and to a lesser extent SH2 were affected by The Dark Knight Rises?
  10. I think Dragon Tattoo will be the surprise of December. It has sold twice as many books in the US as the hunger games I believe. I also think quality will play in as well. At any rate it has a chance to be the 3rd biggest rated R film of the year
  11. I agree Baumer and I judge my favorite movies based on what I loved most but for the sake of arguing on online forums reviews/boxoffice numbers are grounds for fact... I felt like BD1 deserved better reviews, but the critics mostly had a distaste for it. I doubt there genuinely anyone out there who allows people to manipulate their tastes... That's sick psychological inversion
  12. It's okay to totally dismiss critics and box office as useless bullshit when it comes to personal opinion. But if you don't like numbers and facts then you are SOL on a forum like this. Breaking Dawn is a lot of people's favorite film this year but when the dust settles most professional movie critics think BD was mediocre. I liked the film but if I had to give a review comparing every film I've seen this year it would fall right in the middle.
  13. 4th movies usually lose business correct but Goblet increases over azkaban making that for certain become a usually as well
  14. If I'm not mistaken didn't transformers get better reviews than Breaking Dawn?
  15. I know a lot of people who are wanting to see this now but theaters all around this area aren't showing it
  16. Twilights fan base watches the movies and they have reached an apex... Harry potter still has a decent amount of fans all over the US who didn't even bother with any movies after the first if they even watched that. Plus as already been stated there was a 10 year build up to tht finale, an adventure leading to a climatic end like LotR. Twilight doesn't have that scale of appeal to the point where the numbers will go up significantly like DH2. BD2 will still have a chance at beating TDK opening weekend record and possibly touching HP1 domestic number.
  17. Let's take time to bow down to the Swanson.I predicted a $141 million opening weekend 2 weeks ago.Now excuse me while I go eat some bacon.
  18. I remember saying on the first few pages of the TF3/DH2 battlegrounds thread that DH2 would make a half a billion dollars after opening weekend... Pointman proceeded to tell me I was stupid and my prediction was laughable at best
  19. I'm pretty disappointed in the reviews for this film. It was clearly the most emotional and most engaging out of all the twilight films and at least deserved to be around 65% fresh...
  20. I think the biggest battles will be:Opening Weekend- TDKR vs BDpt2 Domestic Crown- TDKR vs THMidnights- TDKR vs BDpt2 Biggest first entry- THG vs Twilight (2008)Interesting Battle- The Avengers vs TASMAnd of course everything will be compared to DH2.
