  1. WB already had Aquaman II slated in December 2022 plus the original Aquaman was also in December and earned more than a billion worldwide. They were well aware of the lucrative December window prior to NWH's success.. They knew they have to have a release in Dec so while Aquaman II is not ready, they pulled Shazam earlier.
  2. The first Shazam was a great movie, one of DCEU's best to be honest but the BO was terrible for such quality. It was meant to be a Christmas movie (movie setting was all abt Christmas) but ended up before Endgame. 2nd movie finally getting a rightful Christmas release date
  3. Reminded me of Sep last yr where Shang Chi had 4 weekends to itself with Venom shifting back and forth..and then we had a crowded October. 😅😅
  4. I think The Flash as an IP is still huge; i would argue in terms of name - he is more famous than Aquaman and only behind Batman, Superman and Wonderwoman in DC. If it has a good release date and the film has good quality (RT above 80%), i can see it doing very very well worldwide.
  5. WE cinemas and Eagle Wings Cinematics are small and barely have 1 location each; hence they are not consider cinema chains - they unfortunately don't impact much box office Golden Village and Cathay are key. I know the websites are in your link but pasting again for anyone else who wants to see and track. GV website is extremely easy to navigate so u can actually see sales for tomorrow (Thursday opening day) onwards across its theaters: https://www.gv.com.sg/GVMovieDetails#/movie/7216/cinema/114 Cathay you can see here: https://www.cathaycineplexes.com.sg/movies/jujutsu-kaisen-zero-pg13/ Just FYI on the above links. I will go in and take a look to see what i can track as well. Cheers.
  6. We have 3 big cinema chains here - Shaw, Golden Village and Cathay. And among these 3 giants, the film is distributed by Golden Village and shown only in Golden Village and Cathay cinemas and… I happen to be on the closest terms with Shaw. Lol. let me see what numbers I can get this will be pretty fan driven in Singapore and without Shaw this is considered a limited release. So let’s see…
  7. Ah made sense - read the previous post incorrectly; thought it opened below unchartered (not lower OW). Seems like India is the only exception.
  8. Yeah plus not just domestic but overseas as well. And it is not a clear cut % drop on that particular week I feel - because there will be people who knows an online release is impending (i.e. 1 week before) and decide not to head to the theater as they can watch it at home the week after.
  9. 120m estimated internationally per deadline https://deadline.com/2022/03/the-batman-opening-international-box-office-robert-pattinson-dc-1234969771/ SUNDAY UPDATE, Refresh for latest…: Warner Bros/DC’s The Batman winged into 74 offshore markets this weekend, landing $120M at the international box office through Sunday. Combined with the $128.5M domestic start, the global launch is $248.5M. The Matt Reeves-directed Batman was No. 1 in 73 of its openings, and came in at the high end of the range where we saw it ahead of the debut. The international start is the industry’s best for 2022 and the biggest for Warner Bros since Joker in 2019. It is also WB’s top opening of the pandemic era internationally (excluding China) and the biggest international bow for Reeves

  11. https://deadline.com/2022/03/the-batman-box-office-1234970969/ SUNDAY AM UPDATE: Refresh for updates and chart In another clear sign that moviegoing is alive and well despite its shutter during the pandemic, Warner Bros.’ The Batman is delivering the second-best opening since 2019 after Spider-Man: No Way Home with $128.5M after a $43.2M Saturday, which was -24% against the pic’s opening Friday+previews. There’s a very good chance by tomorrow AM that Batman could rise beyond $130M. Batman is easily the best opening for Warner Bros. during the pandemic, the best opening for filmmaker Matt Reeves ahead of Dawn of the Planet of the Apes ($73M), and as of right now, the best domestic opening for 2022. Batman‘s opening further underscores the value in a big theatrical opening; that there is no upside in going theatrical day-and-date, which is a recipe for eroding revenues, and certainly doesn’t do any favors for propping any hardworking filmmaker or talent’s career. Where is the glory in hiding streaming figures?!
  12. Wow. Bigger Sun than Sat? Is that common in Vietnam?
  13. I think Sunday drop might be steeper than expected due to the run-time hence weaker showings for night screenings
  14. Just watched it in IMAX. Loved it.!! But not Dark Knight / Batman Begins level IMO. My 3rd fav Batman film. But i can see why it is not for everyone.
  15. Maoyan want to see numbers.. is not a good reference. The earlier it is placed on Maoyan sites, the higher the number of ppl. Let's wait for presales and Maoyan score. Like I say - if Maoyan score is 9 or above - 100m is very very possible
  16. How does it compare to the likes of WW84, Eternals, Shang Chi, NWH and Venom2 ?
  17. Opening was pretty bad in Taipei and Taiwan overall yesterday. https://www.facebook.com/1710702135872852/posts/3166365260306525/?sfnsn=mo
  18. Bad opening in Taiwan.. Half of the opening of the Jap movie last week. https://www.facebook.com/1710702135872852/posts/3166365260306525/
