  1. Love all the inflated Maoyan scores. Lol. How can all of them be above 9? hahah. Heard Hidden Blade is terrible.
  2. MCU re-entering China. Haha. Waiting to see will John Wick 4 be imported... 😂
  3. A lot of people are on Holidays and on leaves this period..
  4. Avatar was not the juggernault that everyone thought it would be. Not sure whether WB regrets moving Shazam 2 to March 2023. March 2023 is crazily packed..
  5. I was expecting closer to 60% drop.. 40+% is good noting last weekend's hold.
  6. Yeah; am not sure is it something worn by him or a past interview where he said something related to supporting Dalai Lama - everything seems to have been deleted / censored on Weibo. The Keanu Reeves one was really a waste; investors were very keen to bring in John Wick 4 as Asian Superstar - Donnie Yen is in it; see how xXx 3 did in China just marketing Vin Diesel vs Donnie Yen... What a waste. USD100m at least for John Wick 4 if it opens there.. but no chance now.
  7. Pierce Brosnan wore something related to Daila Lama in an interview - that is what I heard / read. And on Weibo, there are comments that said many Marvel fans took the chance and called in to the film board to highlight this and complained to get the film banned.
  8. When WB official China weibo page announces the date. We call that "官宣" Any murmurs before that are pure speculation.
  9. 45% hold, not bad at all considering a lot of countries were having Halloween celebration this weekend as well. Last strong weekend hold next week..

  11. Yeah; WB should have released earlier without a doubt. Legs will be cut short by BPWF as well; and i don't expect next weekend's hold to be strong as people are anticipating BPWF the following week.
  12. steep drop.. really falling behind Eternals in dailies now
  13. Among the reviewers I have to say that Scott’s taste resonates with me the most; I do hope the film is great instead of just good.
  14. from an Asian / Chinese perspective who grew up with Jackie Chan / Jet Li / Donnie Yen films - SC was not good at all; lots of stuntdoubles and deepfake across fight scenes and CGI in final act was atrocious. NWH was good; saved by the reunion of the 3 spideys but villains' motivations totally blurred and most of them lost their arc from their respective previous movies.
  15. Bros/New Line/DC’s Black Adam has launched to a $73M weekend from 76 international box office markets. Along with domestic’s $67M start, the global bow is $140M. The offshore debut is at the high end of the range we saw coming into the weekend, while worldwide is slightly ahead. The Dwayne Johnson-starrer was No. 1 in the vast majority of its overseas openings, and the top U.S. title in each of them. In like-for-likes, and using today’s exchange rates, the start is tracking 27% ahead of Shazam!. https://deadline.com/2022/10/black-adam-opening-box-office-global-international-1235151920/
  16. You hate this movie or what. Haha. Let's see whether it opens in China; hoping for Mid November cause there is a drought of movies there. I think it will do very well there if it manages to get a date
  17. Because of the presales of BA, plus Shazam was: 1) pre-pandemic 2) Highly praised (best DCEU film at the time alongside WW) 3) More well-known We are not talking about how much it needs to earn to breakeven.. just talking about expectations based on latest presales and buzz.
