The Apes movie has been consistently great since the reboot since Rise. Not surprised that this film continues the streak. Not sure how box office for this will be though, trailers seem kind of confusing of the timeline of when this is taking place; I genuinely hope it is just me and that it does extremely well worldwide.

Unfortunately not, have not opened in Singapore yet. 17th May is the target date. Heard it is similar to 2006's Dragon Tiger Gate. But without a Jet Li or Donnie Yen (or even Nicholas Tse, Max Zhang) in a HK action film, tough for me to get excited. Even though Sammo Hung plays a minor role here and action is choreographer by Kenji who is Donnie Yen's disciple and part of the Donnie stunt team..but I do prefer to see actual martial artist in HK action films. 😅 Good to see that it is doing well.

they are faking box office in China (注水),how can 2 to 4 am screenings by 70% full on weekdays. And in HK many fake 5 star reviews on HKmovie6 and Wmoov; fake and new accounts水军writing good reviews when the movie is actually terrible. Emperor is a listed company, i hope someone investigates their accounts.. faking box office at this day and age.

Aquaman &The Lost Kingdom | $294.6M OS | $412.7M WW

They didnt have William Dafoe in this one, so cheaper plus James Wan can really stretch the dollar especially with what they alr innovated in the first film being reused. -
Deadline updates from 5mins ago: DEC 26 AM UPDATE: We’re still waiting on official numbers, but Warner Bros wound up owning Christmas with its trifecta of Aquaman 2, Wonka and The Color Purple respectively in the top three spots. Speaking of The Color Purple, it came up big — much bigger than expected on its first day with an estimated $18.1M, A CinemaScore, 5 stars and 92% positive. That haul was enough for Color Purple to win Christmas Day ahead of Aquaman 2 ($10.6M) and Wonka ($10.4M). As of right now that ties with the first Christmas day of Universal’s feature take on West End/Broadway musical Les Miserables which went on to ultimately make $148.8M. Are musicals dead on the big screen? Absolutely not, they just need to be excellent.

Wasn't a huge shock to be honest. Once the Amber Heard situation went crazy, and people were tweeting BoyCottAquaman when the first trailer came out + our understanding of Christmas eve falling on Sun - with the presales figures.. Some of us already thought + / - 25m. 28m is not really very shocking?

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom (2023)

not really a metaphor of anything. You are really thinking too much into it. Was a funny tease and the audience in both my screenings ate it up. Orichalcum -
Hem; not the Marvel vs DC thread - but Wonder Woman 1984 was a day and date release, so not apples-to-apples. Plus MCU films are known to have higher RT scores even if the film quality is actually not great - like the Marvels, Thor 4 or Dr Strange 2. Superhero movie landscape is very different then compared to now; superhero fatigue is real and can be seen in 2023. Aquaman is the last film of a dead universe; no1 should care for it while The Marvels is one of the key connecting films to an existing universe; with "Marvel"(s) literally in the title. I think both did badly so why piss on one? Both sides have made bad sequels.. Dr Strange MoM is good? lol.

Congrats! I have two girls; parenthood is an extremely rewarding journey so enjoy! 😀 But I wouldn't wish any movie to flop especially after being a parent - tend to be more open and less critical about things especially this movie somewhat focuses on newborn + parenthood. Also wishing a movie to flop is like hoping someone's child doesn't do well in exams.. I hope every opener over this period surprises to continue to boost the dwindling theatrical business

Yeah 100% agreed, my theater clapped.. Every1 ate up the IMAX 3D, my wife said it was better than the 1st Aquaman and more evenly paced than Avatar last yr.. Some scenes from Nicole Kidman talking to Orm were also very touching IMO. But it got whacked by critics real hard...
