hmm..august might be too late. Japan gets it just a week after US, so i would assume Fox to release it same date or a week or two later. This is the type of movie which will be pirated heavily in china if it doesn't release on time. -
Any idea when Independence Day Resurgence will release in China and the box-office potential?

Compared to Malekith, Ronan, ultron, antman villain etc, he was better. But yeah still bad.

Don't give marvel too much credit. They had nothing to do with the awesomeness of Doc Ock in Spiderman2. That's all on Sam Raimi. You should know which movie is MCU and which isn't. MCU villains have mostly been lame or bad barring loki in Thor and to some degree in TA. Red Skull was decent too.

The movie was greenlit with a three figure million budget. Not sure how much it will end up costing when it is finally complete. Therefore, the PG-13 rating makes sense. The director surprisingly has been given the freedom to make the movie on a lavish scale because Ubisoft and Michael Fassbender have A LOT of say on this movie. Without Fass, this would have never gotten made.

That would be more than enough to beat XA because I am expecting Wolverine Origins number at best for XA.

Same here. It was never going to do CW and BVS numbers and after deadpool, I knew there was no way Xmen apocalypse was going to be as big. Infact, don't be surprised if ends up being the lowest grossing CBM of this year domestically.

It's not, but it's disappointing. I guess Disney/Marvel should have incorporated the word 'Avengers' in the title to get the extra box-office flavour.

I have to be honest, I am disappointed with the estimates. Really thought with excellent reviews and good will from Cap 2 as well as addition of Iron Man, Spiderman and Black Panther would take it to atleast 210 million on opening weekend.

Mel Gibson is an auteur. Let's see if the industry/critics will get their head out of sand and embrace it like the test screening audience have. Really excited for this. Always felt that Andrew Garfield was the best part of The Social Network, so I am glad he is getting to work with good filmmakers and showing his acting range. He is one day going to win that golden statue for sure.

Just looked it up. Wow...how come none of the actors or director broke out after that monster hit? I mean studios tend to sign up such directors on a potential big film or franchise..

This looks really good B movie. It should do fine with critics and make decent coin at the box-office.

I have liked her in everything except those movies. She is in Snowden, which hopefully will bring her career back on track, but you never know with Oliver Stone.

MR2 is wayyyyyy better than those 2 and made much more money on lower budget. Divergent franchise is a waste of money, talented actors and time.

No. Ayer has already moved on to 'Bright' because he will get the creative freedom to do whatever he wants. He was indirectly saying that on SS he didnt have that freedom. I have a gut feeling that SS will be the only shining moment of DCU. WW will be solid, but maybe not for everyone. Rest will get either cancelled, pushed or flat out suck like bvs except Batman.

I want CA:CW to beat SW:TFA opening weekend just to witness the meltdown on this forum. In the end, Disney will be laughing all the way to the bank.

Frankly, I would like to see James Wan do the Robotech movie. Only one person can do Aquaman justice and he is busy working on a qudrilogy of films in NZ.
