Ninjango is #5 on MT already....looks like another BO disappointment for fox on the way. They have made good-great movies this year but nothing that makes you go holy shit...wanna check this out in theatres...except Logan. Apes 3 might have got amazing reviews but I could tell that the audience couldn't care less as they didn't like Apes 2 as much as critics would like to make you believe.
This is missing a hook to get audience into the theatre. Colin firth as action hero was the hook in first one! Here....nothing. Just bigger is better syndrome.
I disagree. It was nothing but CG fest. None of the action or spectacle was anywhere as well directed as first one. Also, the first one felt like a universe and you could see people on all planets. This one was mostly barren planets and some nonsense CG monsters. It's a fun movie but a 7/10. Guardians was a 9/10.
Spiderman was 10/10 though.
Hopefully thor 3 delivers.
One thing is confirmed....Vaughn is a big misogynist. First he did something unholy on the sets of xmen:first class. Then that Princess joke at the end of Kingsman. And now another joke which almost ruins this movie...some will find it hilarious...but in the present world that we are living in...it may piss off many and automatically hate or deride this film.
Damn....looks like it will end up 40-60% range...Valerian like.
Now you know why Vaughn doesn't do sequels generally. Even he knows that he can't top what he has done before. This was just a paycheck movie.
Cameron remains king of sequels.
Reviews are mixed at best. Just go through some of my posts earlier in the year. I said that this movie was overstuffed and had issues and Vaughn was struggling to top the first one. The action scenes are great, but somehow the soul is missing even if it is a very entertaining movie. Asia will love it. Rest of the world not too sure. I think 90-105 domestic is the range.
I think those who want to complain will say that it is an overstuffed sequel or is missing that magic of the first one even if it is very entertaining movie with much better action scenes/set pieces and fun characters.

They are coming to slay. Sounds like the type of movie that will play gangbusters in Asia and Latin America. Europe and America could go anywhere. Still feel it will struggle to match first one domestically. But I hope I am wrong. In a year where most sequels have disappointed domestically and even overseas, I hope this one pulls through and brings some relief to Fox.
You can tell that the guy wants to do either Star wars or Indiana Jones or a big superhero/comic book tentpole movie from Marvel (disney)/DC (wb).
But I want him to do Flash Gordon. In his hands that IP has immense potential.
It's China. Have you never heard of students getting mocked at or scolded for not getting a 9.5+ /10 in studies to get into best colleges and then secure good jobs? You are FUCKED if anything less than that unless you decide to go overseas for studies.
Like the confidence, but has a chance of getting lost in the shuffle. I hope it's the final movie and does decent enough. But I am scared we won't get to see Keanu much after this trilogy...unless he is in a Star wars, dc or marvel flick. Constantine is fucking underrated. That deserved a trilogy.
WTF. Hellboy is screwed because Brad Pitt is more bankable star and can take this film to decent gross if it is decent. But January release doesn't give me confidence. Maybe it will get a limited release in December if it is oscar worthy and then a wide release in January. Hellboy should move to MLK weekend.
WTF. It's one of those type of movies where chances of disappointing are extremely high. Ridley....is such a hit and miss guy. Unless he has a great script, it won't work.
