  1. Again, I'll say...I called a $15-25 mil. OW a week or so ago. A few people laughed... ;-) Also, so-called "tracking" has been *way* off this Summer. Unfortunately, we'll have to resort to calling it "tranking" now for predicting flops...
  2. The Gift apparently cost $7.5 million, including P&A. And good WOM is already spreading. Amazing how so much can be wasted on creative/executive misfires like FF just for studio hubris.
  3. You'd think they'd want to go for a different title, at least, just to separate themselves from the Hansel & Gretel debacle a few years back. But this looks too much like that, as well as Seventh Son...and Sorcerer's Apprentice.
  4. As in, Serkis/Jackson's Kong is from an alternate universe and he will meet up with the Skull Island Kong in the sequel, right? ;-)
  5. Sounds like Crowe talks fizzled out quickly...I get the feeling this may be a script thing... And sure, why not add SLJ? This'll be his "Nick Fury" money for the year...
  6. I was more interested in this when it was going to star Keanu Reeves and I think Rachel McAdams.
  7. This will not stay in Feb...unless they film it and turns out like the FF reboot. I wonder if they have a story that they think spans two films? And they must be working on deals for Smith and Lawrence as we speak.
  8. Agreed. I think this will go ahead quicker than people think. These Jack Reacher films aren't three figures like the M:I franchise. It's a much smaller plate...or at least the first one was. What's Cruise have booked in the fall, anything?
  9. They tried that with Renner. He's lacking charisma. And it almost always feels contrived when they try that kind stuff. I see Cruise taking this momentum as far as he can, one or two more. My bet is when he's done, Paramount fully reboots...or basically does, and has Cruise cameo as a mentor.
  10. "Gangbusters" feels inadequate to describe how well this film is doing...wow. Me, personally, 4:30pm showing this afternoon, theatre was 70% full, crowd reacted well, biggest jump being
  11. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MSV9_J8Csts "Don't wait for the translation...yes or no?!" Or in Star Trek VI terms..."Answer me now!" ;-)
  12. That's what I was thinking...I wasn't really following development closely for this...did they try to get Goldblum for this? Because he doesn't seem to have a problem being in ID2. I could understand if they wanted more of a "fresh" take...but I wouldn't be surprised at all if we saw him back in the next one...
  13. Last report we had was that 48% of these receipts are from 3-D, right? That, to me, is also rather impressive...everyone I talk to usually seems complacent or ambivalent about 3-D...but this got them out for it...
  14. Widest release in Universal's history = not underbooking theatres, right? I think the sold out shows are simply due to an extraordinary, and yes, under-estimated demand...but not underbooking theatre numbers...
  15. Yep, and certain people like me who either A) avoided the weekend, B ) couldn't get into sold-out shows, C) were otherwise busy, D) are actually off certain weekdays, or even E) waited to hear WOM...forbodes a VERY good Monday and week! I'm seeing this in a few hours for the first time...will report back here on crowd and my impression, etc. after.
  16. Greetings. Long-time observer, first time poster. ;-) But I was prompted to join today simply to say that I purchased tickets for 'Jurassic World' for Monday afternoon...and I'm glad I did, by the looks of things... (both waiting, and ahead of time...like my own existence!)
  17. Contemplating my immortal existence
