Your comment doesn't make sense. If it can't make $1B for the reasons you pointed out, why would WB be expecting it to cross that mark? Why would they have unrealistic expectations for it? The same thing for Man Of Steel, there was no way that movie would make $1B specially because the character was not so popular anymore, the last movies were flops and hated by everyone.

I'm not a hater. I'm actually very supportive of religion, even though I'm not a religious person myself anymore. But what they've done to inflate the numbers of this movie is a complete joke. I have no doubt it would be a success without the scam, specially considering the low production costs (most of the scenes are from the TV show). But not at this level, and we'll never know the real level of success. You may think it's unrealistic to think the church bought almost all of these tickets, but that's because you don't know the history of IURD. They have always done these kind of things.

This bug is going on for a month now then, and only with this movie.

Here's some proof. This is the 3 sessions for the movie next Monday (a typically slow day at cinemas) in one cinema here: As you can see, not only the amount of tickets pre-sold are insane for a Monday one month after release, all the seats taken are the exact same in all sessions.

They are lying, then (which wouldn't even surprise me). The biggest local movies in admissions are: Tropa de Elite 2 - 11,1M Dona Flor e Seus Dois Maridos - 10,7M A Dama da Lotação - 6,5M ODM was at 6,4M after last weekend. And the church is still buying an indecent amount of tickets, every session here in my city is with half tickets sold and it's always the same seats in every session. That's why it's not dropping. We will never be able to compare this movie with others, this is such a joke.

In admissions is still #4 But it's an amazing accomplishment anyway, specially with theaters almost completely empty
