  1. Word of mouth starting to kick in for Allegiant, going up from early projections. So it's happening what I imagined: a lot of fans lost interest in the movie (that's why the huge drop in previews) but general audiences not as much, and the rest of the weekend must play better than we'd expect judging by the previews.
  2. Sad to hear about it, I hope it's nothing too serious and that he fully recovers.
  3. I just literally quoted what Lionsgate is saying in the tv spots. I thought it was true, I didn't know they were allowed to lie in advertisement.
  4. From Rotten Tomatoes: Critics Consensus: Allegiant improves on previous entries in The Divergent Series
  5. I took it from the Variety article, I'm not trying to spin anything. And there's no reason to expect a similar multiple than Insurgent's. Critics are saying this is the best movie in the series, so the word of mouth will be better.
  6. Lionsgate noted that the $2.35 million figure is the second highest Thursday preview gross of 2016.
  7. @Fullbuster are you seeing what's happening in our country? Hang in there, Queen Dilma
  8. In admissions: 1. Allegiant 725,000 2. "Os Dez Mandamentos" 452,000 (8,8 million) 3. Kung Fu Panda 3 395,000 (over 1 million) 4. Deadpool 221,000 (5,7 million) 5. The Witch 173,000 +8% Allegiant is down 14% from Insurgent (843,054) http://www.adorocinema.com/noticias/filmes/noticia-120036/ In local currency: 1 Allegiant 10.025.000 2 Kung Fu Panda 3 5.749.000 3 Os dez mandamentos 4.625.000 4 Deadpool 3.125.000 5 The Witch 2.377.000 6 50 Shades of Black 2.229.000 7 Gods of Egypt 1.549.000 8 The Revenant 1.396.000 9 Spotlight 607.000 10 Room 441.000
  9. It's funny how some people complain about the flashbacks, when they are placed perfectly. The movie manages to tell once again Superman's origin story, that we already know, without making it boring. This is the "problem" haters point out in the movie that makes less sense. About the visual effects, it also shocks me when haters say the battles are just a regular destruction porn, when in reality the battles are very original and Snyder created an unique style in this movie. If you look at all the criticism this movie received, it's all like this. People don't like the fact that Snyder is a visionary and dared to make a movie that differs from the regular superhero movie formula.
  10. Of course, I bought the moment they were available. I'll watch it at the 8PM and 11PM previews. Now I understand you watching MJ2 20 times in one week, I will probably watch BVS a lot at the cinema too, I've never been this hyped before.
  11. Allegiant: Brazil($2.8M) The Witch: After opening last weekend in Brazil, the Robert Eggers-helmed pic expanded to 100 more dates, placing No. 5 with $623K and a total so far of $1.4M.
  12. So Raphael disappeared again, can't believe he missed Civil War peaking the same as Allegiant on movietickets
  13. Just some info I was tracking: BVS on the first 24 hours of pre-sales was at 58% of total tickets sold that day on movietickets.com. CW on its first 24 hours of pre-sales did 8% (7.7% to be precise, and BVS in the same period was at 7.6%).
  14. It's really impressive. In the 9AM PST update, when Civil War completed 24 hours of pre-sales, it was at 7.7% vs 7.6% of BVS. This means in the first full 24 hours of pre-sales, CW sold 0.1% more tickets than BVS in the same period. And this is with BVS on its 11th day of pre-sales, with much demand burned on the first day. There's no doubt CW will be another big hit for Marvel, this doesn't mean the movie is doing bad, it just means BVS is doing really fantastic in pre-sales. And it means WB did a terrific job with the marketing, unlike detractors have been saying for months. The movie does look great, and people are excited to watch it.
  15. That's not a fair comparison. BVS tickets went on sale at 12PM in my timezone (7AM PST I think), and 1 hour later it was at #2 with 14% in the first update. 3 hours after the start, it was at #1 with 24%. CW tickets went on sale at 9AM PST (2PM in my timezone) and the first update was 3 hours later, at #5 with 4%. I think that's a more accurate comparison.
  16. Wish I didn't have class tomorrow morning, the midnight previews for Allegiant seem to be almost empty I'll have to watch it tomorrow when the cinema will be more crowded since Divergent fans work and study they can't attend a midnight premiere
  17. I just started reading the book, it's very promising. Spielberg is really directing it?
