  1. I have forum suspensions from twelve SysOps. ---| I'll be careful You'll be BANNED!
  2. So we're all going to panic when this stays flat, right? Or even worse, falls a bit. Haven't had a good panic in AT LEAST a couple of days. We're overdue.
  3. Seeing how well a blockbuster does in this time frame (Sing) while another one is throwing its weight around (R1) is going to be very very interesting. Should be more than enough room for both of them. But the proof is in the pudding, as the old saying goes.
  4. (Crossposting with the R1 Motherthread for exposure) Just took a screenshot of this ad on Fandango: They even copied the font style.
  5. It's on the countdown list I'm doing in the mothership thread for a reason.
  6. I think New York is one of the last holdouts against Discount Tuesdays. Here in Sacramento, Regal wasn't participating in them until sometime this year, but when when Cinemark followed the suit of Cinema West, they soon had to do so as well. That's what I meant about 'market forces'. As soon as one place in an area goes to Discount Tuesdays and the other theaters in the area start to suffer lost business, the rest sooner or later fall in line. It also helps that it does seem to be profitiable for them. I can't really say if it's added to box office gross overall or if it has just shuffled the M-Th pattern a bit, but it does appear to be here to stay. ==== One other note, every single theater here in town makes an exception on Discount Tuesdays for films that are opening that day or are having their Preview Night. Gotta pay full price for those. No fools they. IIRC, some places tried to exempt a movie in its first week from Discount Tuesdays, but that didn't stick for long. Can't imagine why.
  7. I already told you, just think of it as a sequel to ROTS.
  8. Ah, my fault as I wasn't fully awake. Still that "15.5" was a good wake up call.
  9. Got to admit, my heart skipped a beat as I was just scanning for numbers without reading the context.
  10. Got a better one, and the one I am personally going to roll with going forward: ROGUE DUD: A STAR WARS FLOP
  11. $155,081,681 You were off by a whole 82 thousand. Don't know how you can live with yourself.
  12. Some time in the last year they became damn near universal. I'm sure there are still some isolated holdouts, but for the most part market forces ground the resistance into dust.
  13. Well it's not an event movie like Sherlock Holmes flicks always are, so I don't think we can really expect such a multiplier.
  14. All things considered, that's a pretty damn good drop. Any chance, any remote chance, this could stay flat or rise on Discount Tuesday?
  15. I was going to say 18.3 for 18th Anniversary + 3D. edit: Oh wait, that says 10 not 18. Whoops. Couldn't tell on my monitor. Oh well, Right for Wrong reasons.
  16. *Googles* *Reads Wikipeida Entry* Huh. *Reads entry on the SEQUEL* Double huh. Well, learn something new every day.
  17. Yes, I know. I was just letting you know that at least some folks over at LFL share your taste in movies.
  18. For Baumer: (one of the folks in the Lucasfilm 'Story Group' that oversees and coordinates content development) ((Really good guy, too for that matter))
  19. I agree that BOT's definition is highly flawed. Because ALL flims are flops if you listen to Hollywood Accountants.
  20. Might get something from Rth just before 10pm our time though. He gave a TFA Monday update and a BvS Monday update right around then. Also might have to break out our secret decoder rings. Wonder if Rth has been checking out the covers of old Marvel Star Wars comics ahead of time in preparation for making us dance once again.
  21. Last year we got really lucky when Santa Deadline gave us an early Xmas present with a 4PM update on TFA's Monday number. Doubt we'll get this lucky, this time around.
