yes here i am.. it made $50m on it's forth weekend in case anyone didn't know and steadily powered on to make $760m dollars in USA and Canada! This was but a small part of it's monumental... phenomenal you could say... world wide total of $2.78b dollars.. a number so large that only a measly five films have managed to make just half of it (excluding Titanic of course).
I don't have a clue about this movie and I'm not exactly be hoping for it to fail... but sometimes watching stuff burn is fun. Adds a little spice to the equation, the bigger variance in possibilities the more we have to keep on our toes.
Also just a thought.
This film will have a marketing campaign as in your face as The Force Awakens, they have so much potential money on the line that they'll go all out. Avatar 2's success will directly impact 3,4 and 5s and what ever merchandise they will sell.
I'm also wondering just how incredible the underwater visuals will be.
yeah it's a good one. Love Jim's outlook on AI engineers, comparing them to scientists excited for nuclear energy in the 30's, not realising that it can and will be weaponised.
I'm not actually sure myself, I know Gavin predicted 100m to 120m so I assume it's going to follow the same trajectory as Homecoming. They had a very similar midnight release of $1.55m (bp) and $1.53m.
