  1. yes here i am.. it made $50m on it's forth weekend in case anyone didn't know and steadily powered on to make $760m dollars in USA and Canada! This was but a small part of it's monumental... phenomenal you could say... world wide total of $2.78b dollars.. a number so large that only a measly five films have managed to make just half of it (excluding Titanic of course).
  2. Disney seems to be falling flat on their face on the second step of making an original movie... step 1 make it original, step 2 make a good movie
  3. this is why we need to give power back to the directors
  4. Ha you got me there, I would love more variety in well made blockbusters.
  5. I don't have a clue about this movie and I'm not exactly be hoping for it to fail... but sometimes watching stuff burn is fun. Adds a little spice to the equation, the bigger variance in possibilities the more we have to keep on our toes.
  6. I remember seeing a demographic breakdown of BOT some time ago, can't for the life of me find it though.
  7. Another fun fact.. no non-Cameron movie before 2012 has made over 0.5A. 0.5A.. that's HALF of Avatar. Damn
  8. I found it funny that he didn't want to be part of marvel but is linked with DC for the Joker origins role, just fuel for the fire you know.
  9. Also just a thought. This film will have a marketing campaign as in your face as The Force Awakens, they have so much potential money on the line that they'll go all out. Avatar 2's success will directly impact 3,4 and 5s and what ever merchandise they will sell. I'm also wondering just how incredible the underwater visuals will be.
  10. Joaquin Phoenix doesn't regret turning down Marvel roles http://canoe.com/entertainment/movies/joaquin-phoenix-doesnt-regret-turning-down-marvel-roles
  11. very funny commendable.. I know aang is the wind shaper from the avatar cartoon
  12. the flying creatures which they Na'Vi ride, were you in awe when Jake rode one down the floating mountains for the first time.
  13. Are you suggesting that my faith in Jim is disingenuous... I don't get it really, what are you suggesting?
  14. yeah it's a good one. Love Jim's outlook on AI engineers, comparing them to scientists excited for nuclear energy in the 30's, not realising that it can and will be weaponised.
  15. I'm not actually sure myself, I know Gavin predicted 100m to 120m so I assume it's going to follow the same trajectory as Homecoming. They had a very similar midnight release of $1.55m (bp) and $1.53m.
  16. yeah if it opens to that much... also looking at spiderman homecoming's performance i think opening like that wouldn't guarantee over 150m at all.
  17. I think some had been hoping it would perform as well as age of ultron.
