  1. So, is this going to increase from the second Cars movie? I think it can. And I think you can safely see this one without seeing the second one. No need to see Mater in some spy caper.
  2. The BAFTA winner in this category has always went on to win the Oscar. Except for The Lego Movie debacle, but we'll set that aside.
  3. Someone at work tried to bring this movie up in conversation. It was kind of awkward.
  4. A Monster Calls is just a mega-bomb in North America. I just it just looked too much like a kid's movie, and we've already had enough of those.

  6. I totally fucked this up. I treated this like a mid-January weekend and I underestimated what the weather would do.
  7. About a middle aged white guy. With bombastic scenes. Both things Moonlight lacks.
  8. Seems small in scope and quiet. I think it's at kind of a disadvantage when it comes to Oscar voters.
  9. I wonder if Keith Simanton still thinks Sing is going to win an Oscar.
  10. Have you seen Moonlight? I don't think it's something that the Academy would fall over itself to give the big award.
  11. No. La La Land is a movie that celebrates Hollywood, so everyone is going for that.
  12. Crash also won Original Screenplay and Editing. Spotlight just won Original Screenplay in addition to its other win.
  13. If it was among Scorsese's best, it would be one of the greatest movies ever, so that's not saying much.
  14. TBH, now that Zootopia won, I don't see any reason to continue watching this.
