  1. Yeah, it really is confusing, especially since I can't tell which thread you're quoting me in when I get a notification. I guess I'll repeat myself as well: I just sense a lack of interest from the animation community, going by the response to Cartoon Brew blogs.
  2. Where do you get the sense that Your Name will get a nod? I think Funimation really let that movie down in promoting it.
  3. Oh yeah. I still don't expect them to break any records. China's box office isn't growing like it used to.
  4. I think that GOTG 2 might be the only import to make over 1 billion Yuan Renminbi in 2017.
  5. 6. This thread is really hard to find, given that you can't search for "your" with the forum software. Your Name a great and beautiful movie, and you can tell that there is a singular vision there, which almost never happens in American animation. There are major flaws, though. The music video segments are jarring, and some of the narrative conceits seem a bit flimsy. But this is a really enjoyable movie, and undoubtably an A.
  7. Just a bunch of untitled superheros and cartoons.
  8. Any New Yorkers in here? The IMAX website says that AMC Loews Lincoln Square got IMAX with Laser, but Fandango hasn't got the message. 11. Remind me what the French movie industry made in 2015. I didn't know that overseas was a big market for them.
