  1. Gold Derby has Expert predictions for Best Animated Feature! http://www.goldderby.com/awardshows/expert-predictions/oscars-nominations-2017/animated-feature/sort/recent/ 16 out of 19 experts have Zootopia as the #1 pick.
  2. Zootopia was already the frontrunner because it was clearly Disney's darling. Now all ambiguity is out the window. Plus, many voters are going to think "Oh, wasn't Zootopia that cute movie that was anti-racism? Probably should go with that."
  3. Trump's victory puts a whole new life into Zootopia's Oscar campaign. Disney was already pushing the movie hard. Maybe it can squeak a nomination here.
  4. Now that Trump won the presidency, Zootopia is 100% guaranteed to get the Oscar.
  5. Zootopia is clearly Disney's favorite. The filmmakers are still talking to the press 8 months after the movie opened. http://www.vulture.com/2016/11/zootopia-predict-trump.html http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/behind-screen/how-zootopia-tackled-fear-mongering-colorful-metropolis-945129
  6. Baby Driver moved its date to August, probably to avoid confusion with this movie. Smart movie.
  7. I obviously don't agree with that. I'm still not sold on the idea that the general audience is sold on this movie.

  9. Yeah, I know this is supposed to be tongue in cheek, but there's no way you can do a movie called The Lego Batman Movie 2 and not feel a bit dead inside.
  10. BTW, now that I've watched the trailer, I expect this to make $120m opening weekend and $350m domestic.
  11. I just realized that Jenny Slate voices Harley Quinn in this. So she's going to be a small player in 3 different animated blockbusters from 3 different studios. Shit, maybe she's going to be every animated feature.
  12. I dunno. Maybe there's bias against play adaptions. Doubt and Rabbit Hole didn't get Best Picture nominations.
