  1. @DamienRoc Didn't you say you'd have your own countdown of best animated features?
  2. Oh yeah, I've heard of that first blog. I haven't read it as closely as I used to, though. Still, they announced Frozen 2 voice sessions: http://www.slashfilm.com/frozen-2-production-start/
  3. Gotta have something on a slow news day.
  4. Oh, wow, it's the first appearance of a movie I voted for! I put it forward because I was impressed at how it told a story with no dialogue. I don't get what you mean by "Peanuts-like way of speaking", because those movies actually have dialogue. And the Shaun the Sheep characters don't sound like the distorted trombone Peanuts adults either.
  5. Hacksaw Ridge won Make Up & Hair Styling at the Hollywood Film Awards. Will it get nominated for an Oscar? http://www.hollywoodawards.com/2016/10/the-jungle-book-zootopia-craft-artists-to-be-honored/
  6. Dr. Strange just won for Visual Effects at the Hollywood Film Awards. http://www.hollywoodawards.com/2016/10/the-jungle-book-zootopia-craft-artists-to-be-honored/ Disney probably didn't submit Rogue One here, of course.
  7. Zootopia won the Animation Award at the Hollywood Film Awards, which probably means that it's the current frontrunner at the Oscars. http://www.hollywoodawards.com/2016/10/the-jungle-book-zootopia-craft-artists-to-be-honored/ The only question now is how much people will like Moana.
  8. Also, Disney distributed Spirited Away, and probably wanted a win so that it could prop up video sales.
  9. I endorse this list. I'm no longer confident that Zootopia will get a screenplay nomination.
  10. Awards Watch has this: http://awardswatch.com/2017-oscar-predictions-best-original-song/ "Audition (The Fools Who Dream)," La La Land: 44 points "City of Stars," La La Land: 33 points "We Know the Way," Moana: 29 points "Victory," Hidden Figures: 18 points "A Letter to the Free," 13th: 4 points Never heard of that last one before today.
  11. http://variety.com/2016/digital/news/netflix-ipic-entertainment-theatrical-original-movies-1201878775/ This looks like a way to get Oscar consideration, considering Ipic's two Los Angeles locations and its NYC location for documentary films.
  12. That's not going to happen. Biggest movie will win. Also, I don't think they care about releasing three movies from WDAS/Pixar in a year. They're planning on doing it again in 2018 and 2020.
  13. I think it looks OK. Some stuff seems rather telegraphed. I'm actually wondering what surprises there could be after watching that trailer.
  14. I just realized that three different animation studios made movies based on his work. What's up with that?
  15. http://cinematreasures.org/ Really neat site for looking up theaters. One of the few places where you can easily find the construction date of your local place. Many people also include pictures and comment about the upkeep of the places.
  16. No, it's actually going to be the Disney Classic Home on the Range!
  17. That's because 2016 has also had 6 enormously huge breakout hits.
