No licensing or marketing appeal? It's filled with fluffy cute animals!
Granted, those animals are concerned with adult shit like taxes, kidnapping, conspiracy and racism, but they're still cute!
Not just a metaphor for interracial couples, but lgbt couples, too. Nick and Judy probably can't get pregnant.
But I think what also should be considered that a powerful message is also sent if Nick and Judy don't hook up. When have you ever seen a depiction of emotional intimacy between men and women that didn't involve sex?
Seriously? I've always thought that Wall-E was overrated, but now you're elevating the relationship between Wall E and EVE? I know it's beautiful, but we don't know for sure if they have human emotions. They don't even speak.
I don't think I've ever seen a film where the two leads, whether male and female or not, were so emotionally intimate with each other. Granted, that might speak to my lack of film experience, but what Nick and Judy have is special. The filmmakers need to be careful to not mess it up.
Alright, so it's the young women (and effeminate men) who listen to shallow dumb music, and it's up to the young men to consume the more sophisticated stuff that you like?
Uh, no. That's a cop-out.
You basically said "Of course she likes dumb music! She's a bunny woman!"
And you gave no mention of the male characters who like the singer, like Clawhauser and Bogo. It's just a bit suspect.
Listen, I had no problem at all with the dance party ending. I thought I would have a problem with it, but I didn't. The movie is just too perfect in other ways, and I love the characters too much.
But why would you say that it's in character for Judy to listen to bland pop songs?
Hey, I love that you responded to the scene similarly to how I did. In fact, later in this thread, I agreed that forgiveness was an appropriate reaction from Nick. Heck, he probably hid his tears when he had his back to Judy!

Triple 9 lost 1,510 theaters. I guess Zootopia is taking all of the cop story market share.
