  1. I also found a blog post that suggests that Judy did not deserve Nick's forgiveness: https://momandcultured.wordpress.com/2016/03/06/zootopia-disney-hired-writers-with-big-balls-to-help-explaining-racism-sexism/ After all, Judy says, "After we're done, you can hate me." Wouldn't it be such a gonadsy move to actually go that route? Have them save the day, but not be together?
  2. I found this commentary that really puts racial politics in context for Zootopia: http://fusion.net/story/275485/zootopia-police-racism-race-relations-commentary/ It's really amazing to see pundits take this movie seriously.
  3. What did you think about the "You know you love me" line?
  4. Oh, another interesting reaction. An adult woman audibly reacted with "no!" multiple times when Bellwether showed up at the end to take the briefcase from Judy. Even before the twist was fully revealed.
  5. I prefer Walt Disney animation to Pixar at the moment. It's such a shame that Pixar is doing so many sequels. Also, Walt Disney animation has a legacy of hand drawn animation that I hope comes back.
  6. Can you send me a link to these websites where they rate films?
  7. Why are you so optimistic about Zootopia's success in China? Do you just sense that the Chinese people love this movie?
  8. I went to a screening that had small children in it. I noticed that some of them laughed loudly at the early scenes with Judy as a cop. I also noticed a child that was about 5 years old react to the scene where young Nick is put into a muzzle. "He must not like them anymore." It was fascinating to see this kid connect the dots between trauma and prejudice. After I left the theater, I saw an eight-year-old excitedly re-tell the climax scene with Nick and Judy with his parents: "Oh yeah, it was all fake!"
  9. I was big on the Silence of the Lambs parallels when I first saw Zootopia. Now, I think that's overblown, outside of the "rural woman becomes law enforcement officer and has to solve a missing persons case". Still, they should make that video. It would be satirical.
  10. I haven't seen a fox kit get pushed to the ground by a beaver, but I get what you mean. That's the one scene that is the most disturbing in the movie. I'll bet that even full grown adults who were bullied were triggered into crying at that scene.
  11. Cops themselves are kind of controversial. I guess it's different if it's non-human cops. I did see some discussion of the trailer that asked in jest "What's the Ferguson of Zootopia?"
  12. You know videos like this: That guy could do a video for The Silence of the Lambs and Zootopia!
  13. I knew the major twist at the end of the movie, but the fakeout still caught me off guard. Wonderful callback, too!
  14. Where are you getting this info. Also, it's such a shame for Disney that the Russian Ruble went to shit. That was once a huge market.
  15. It can't be more embarrassing than Cars 2. After that movie came out, you had to give up on Pixar's spotless record.
  16. Lolwut? So far, the only anime the Academy acknolledges is from Studio Ghibli, and the only announced project from that studio is an international co-production called The Red Turtle. That movie doesn't even have a confirmed American release date yet.
