  1. yes, Japan is more important than China for this case. But I see it as a potentially worse sign because mostly audience from US and China have similar opinions on movies from WDAS, Disney's live-action department and Marvel Studios. So if WOM for a Disney title is not good in here, it could mean that US audience also have some problems with it(of course, those from Lucasfilm & Pixar are exceptions). It's too early to judge or make conclusion, but reducing expectations is reasonable at this point.
  2. Early reactions from Shanghai premiere for Frozen 2 sound really average. Good luck.
  3. This looks like another Dark Fate - a three-women play. Dark Fate failed because of too many reboots. This one is being buried by recast.
  4. feels like Better Days could try winning it's 4th weekend. Martin Scorsese, "I can't believe theme park can't work in China. Let me make a real cinema about this country."
  5. Frozen 2 was supposed to be the 2nd billion-level Disney animation. And now...
  6. Warner Bros is smart because they know they should avoid the extraordinary Dark Fate according to some fanboys.
  7. Fox gave Disney two movies losing $100M for each of them.
  8. There was a screening in Beijing this week. I heard the movie is OK for general audience. But it's pity the Chinese distributor is Bona Film Group, which always do nothing on marketing and distribution job when they have a foreign movie. The box office performance here could be weak.
  9. 2:15pm Weathering with You - ¥30.17M Better Days - ¥26.52M Dark Fate - ¥26.46M
  10. Tencent Pictures spent lot of money on buying water army for high score.
  11. Official release notice is given, but Wanda Cinema still don't start to sell it. Maybe they forget it would come on this Friday?😐
  12. Alita is far better than this one, though I don't like it either.
