Sonic was a cute movie but not great, the family all enjoyed it. Both theatres were sold out at the 4pm and 4:15pm shows, tons of kids obviously.

Seeing this Saturday, the kids are excited.

From the tracking thread it seems like this is gonna beak out, I think sonic is a lot more popular then some people think.

It will be interesting to see how they connect the movies (Shazam and Black Adam)

Ya, WB has been releasing the last trailers for movies about a month before release lately. They’ll probably try and attach it to black widow I assume.

The Fanboy thread literally adds nothing to the forums so I say you guys should never bring it back. I’m completely fine with discussing whatever, like with respects to this weekend and people giving their opinions on why BOP isn’t doing well. But that can happen in the weekend thread and/or the movies own thread. What we don’t need is to hear people’s opinions on BvS or MOS or Iron man 3 for the 100th time. Cracking down on trolls would be great, my ignore list is getting big

Thanks for all the numbers. As disappointing as the numbers are for fans like me I still really appreciate these numbers, it definitely lessens the blow when you know what’s coming. With regards to the movie, never in my wildest dreams did I expect this to open this low, I’m pretty shocked but after reading the tracking thread the last week or so I had already prepared myself for what looked to be a disappointing opening(but not this level). It’s good to see people enjoying the movie For the most part but because of this box office I’ll be really interested to see what WB has planned next for Harley after the new Suicide Squad.

What does this even mean? Is that just buzz for the weekend or what those movies peaked at? Seems like a strange chart cause of course BOP would be highest this weekend lol. He also said fandango said BOP outsold Shazam in presales.

For me I thought people said Shazam didn’t connect overseas cause of a few things (besides the obvious arrival of EG), I thought the comedy didn’t land overseas in a lot of markets and it seemed like people said it was childish. I was hoping the action and humour in this would be more suited for overseas audiences(and older crowds) then say Shazam but that was just me hoping that would happen. I haven’t seen the movie and can’t say anything about it but it doesn’t seem like wom is great in any overseas markets it’s opened in yet.

I have to agree with this, I really don’t feel like the marketing has been bad for this movie. I can’t speak for anyone else but i thought more people would be interested in seeing Harley again after SS. I know the weekend isn’t over yet so things can still be “fine“ but presales are lower then I expected as well.

Yes, cause as we’ve all mentioned already it’s because it’s attached to the mcu and the mcu is much bigger worldwide then dc lol. This is also R rated and Eternals won’t be, not that it matters that much as we’ve seen with joker but it still matters as a movie like this won’t ever get a release in China. Also, if Harley was as popular as you say, and even I thought ( I thought her popularity from SS would help this) then presales would of been better all around. So I admit I was wrong about her popularity level as well. Obviously interest in this movie is just low, and it’s going to have to depend on wom everywhere in order to get a decent run.

I agree with this, I also think the marketing was fine. I wasn’t expecting a deadpool breakout but I thought Harley was more popular then presales are showing. I’m sure anything can happen and if reviews are great and wom is good it can carry it to a bigger weekend but I can’t say I’m not a bit disappointed with the presales. I’m hoping for the best and that people will come out and support the movie over the weekend.
