I just wish this was a JSA movie without black Adam.

Rock is being especially insufferable surrounding this film, to the point I'm actually halfway hoping it fails just to see another baywatch meltdown.

This isn’t a shot at you or anyone in general but I find these comments weird.

This has been a passion project for the Rock for over a decade now so what do people really expect from him? This is the way he is with everything he does so of course he’d be going extra hard on a project like BA that means a lot to him. Every time he’s on twitter he’s sharing posts of all the JSA and anything to do with the movie, I think his passion for the project is pretty cool tbh.

This movie has a lot on the line for him cause he wants to build out that side of the dceu with his production company.

Personally ( besides the fact that I’m a big dc fan) I’d really love the movie to perform well for him for all he’s done. I really wish they kept that August release date cause unfortunately I think this movie is gonna get eaten up from the hype of Wakanda Forever. So hopefully he can do enough to get a decent size opening weekend around the world but we’ll have to see.

  2. Doubt any dc movie is getting near the top of anything next year but I expect all the movies to perform well.

I’m confident Shazam and Flash are good and will do well respectively (Shazam 450m, Flash 650m)but competition around flash is big so we’ll see how that goes, I think curiosity is what’s gonna help that movie. I think Blue Beetle has a chance to surprise if it’s good and make a decent amount for a first solo movie. And with Aquamans move and current competition I’d expect that to be dc highest grossing movie next year if it gets a China release.

Ok. From what I'm hearing, this coming week is pretty much paramount for Cavill returning as Superman. Can't go into any specifics beyond this. I'll not know the results till late September.

But suffice to say, Labor Day or nothing.

    @cax16

Thanks! Appreciate the info, I hope it works out with this and that guy who’s supposed to be hired to lead DC.

THE NEWS THAT CAPED CRUSADER and five other animated projects were being scrapped was poorly handled and obscured the fine print.

Caped Crusader, which aimed for a bit of an older audience than the other titles, remains in production, and guess what? So are the others … Merry Little Batman, The Day the Earth Blew Up: A Looney Toons Movie, Bye Bye Bunny: A Looney Toons Musical, Did I Do That to the Holidays: A Steve Urkel Story and The Amazing World of Gumball: The Movie are also in various stages of production.

They are not being scrapped, they just won’t be shown on HBO Max. It’s not a quality issue, but an economic and strategic issue. It is believed that the various Warners divisions making the show and movies will make more money on the titles by selling them to other outlets than having them on Warners’ own streamer.

This is yet another example of the shift away from the corporate strategy that had gripped the studios in recent years: populate your own streamer and build eyeballs. Selling what you make is what Warners, famously on the television side, did for years and years: Friends and  Fresh Prince of Bel-Air aired on NBC. Two and a Half Men and Big Bang Theory were made for CBS and The O.C. for Fox. And don’t forget that DC shows Constantine and Gotham were produced for other networks.

It is a radical 180 from the previous mandate, which gave execs and those working on the shows whiplash for sure.

Caped Crusader is already receiving intense interest from Apple, Hulu and Netflix, among others, our sources tell us. Incoming calls are always a good thing in this business.”

Around the 45 minute mark he says that DC is the one that got away (was set to work on the George Miller Justice League film)

and he made Lego Batman as his kind of way to get into DC at the time. Also probably pissed the Snyder fans off by calling them bots lol. He only talks about it for about a minute but at least he is passionate about DC.

Seems like a decent choice, let’s see what happens.

I don't buy Borys Kit's tweet. Comes off as pure speculation to me. Doubt WB would be dating more movies for theatrical releases if they couldn't afford to put them out that way.

In fact, what he said is already incorrect, as WB is also releasing House Party in theaters this year, so that makes 3 theatrical releases, not 2.

I agree, seems a little overboard on the dramatics but I’m sure they aren’t in a good financial situation.
