This movie is better than expected. I disagree with critics this round. A good crowd-pleaser with some worthy and earned emotional moment. I would even say some part of the movie is better than the first one. I know not many will bother watching the movie at all at this point but it is a really a movie that shouldn't miss if you want a feel-good entertainment over the weekend.

I don’t know who this person is who tweeted this but it’s basically how I felt yesterday after watching the movie. Respectfully sharing not to question anyone’s opinions on the movie it just felt very relatable to how I view this movie, especially the second tweet.

Affleck feels too exciting a choice for something that will be as producer-run as Gunn's DCU, a saga where two of the announced projects are being directly spearheaded by the co-ceo. Jon Watts/Cathy Yan-types make more sense, so maybe someone from sxsw or sundance will get the batman gig. maybe the ruckarucka boys, they just had a big a24 acquisition.

Didn’t they already have a meeting with DC?

  3. Not that I care if Affleck directs in the dcu or not but his comments seem pretty decisive for someone who took a meeting with Gunn.

I don’t see any reason why Gunn would lie, but maybe Gunn meant they met for a project outside the dcu like a Joker type movie cause Affleck only said he wouldn’t direct “inside the dcu”.  Or maybe they met a few more times and Affleck didn’t see a fit.

  4. I liked this which isn’t really surprising cause of how much I liked the first one. Obviously wasn’t as good as the first but still had fun. I didn’t read any full reviews, just saw the snippets yesterday but I figured this would be 60-70 on RT from what I saw yesterday. After seeing it today I’m kinda surprised it’s rotten but it’s not my place to tell anyone how they should feel about a movie.

As for the box office it’s obviously gonna be a huge bomb, I only feel bad for Sandberg cause I like him and have followed him for so long( and the first movie deserved better imo)but it’s also his movie so you have to live with what you make.

  5. Haven’t had much time to

be on the site lately as I’ve had some issues at home ( pipe burst in my wall /sigh).

Sounds like the movie will be fine, 70-78 on RT would be my guess, won’t do much for box office either way. Unfortunately looks like it will flop, sad but what can you do this point. Presales have been pointing to this for a while. Maybe wom can help it a bit but I’m not sure enough people will see it for that to happen.

Seeing it opening weekend so I’m hoping it’s similar to the first movie cause I loved it.

In just saying people here were saying "it's gonna be 70 percent and that's proof audiences hate the MCU now" and that didn't happen at all. As for box office, well the mods don't like it when I point it out but when other films do worse they don't get this level of reaction. Could you imagine if any Marvel thing did numbers like Dredd, Morbius or tracked like Shazam 2. Quantumania already passed Dune's entire dom and that was like the second coming on here

It’s because you point out irrelevant things that have nothing to do with the subject at hand.

No one is surprised that morbius didn’t make a lot of money cause Sony hasn’t made a successful universe like the mcu, no one is shocked that Shazam has bad tracking cause of the state of the dc universe. You’re mentioning dune that literally released day and date in theatres and hbomax, you’re gonna compare that to an mcu movie? Really?

People “are” shocked when the most successful franchise in the last decade has put out some truly bad stuff the last few years and are now potentially seeing drops on the level of BvS which was ridiculed for years as being beyond awful.

It’s great you love the mcu but imagine dying on a hill for this movie, it’s just weird.

Hell the only exception is Peacekeeper but even then it's one DCU adjacent product next year. The rest are so far removed it doesn't count. It would be like counting Morbius or the Fox-Men stuff as MCU.

Did you mean peacemaker? If so that shows second season is delayed as Gunn works on Superman. The Waller show will have some of those characters in it and will come first but I have no idea when that will go into production. Maybe later this year.

Creature commandos is supposed to go into production soon Gunn said as they’re almost finished casting and technically that would be part of the dcu cause the people they cast in the show will be used for live action as well but I have no idea when that will release either.

Didn't James Gunn say in his announcement video that its one of the best comic book movies ever made?

Yes but that doesn’t mean it’s better than TDK, or maybe he doesn’t think TDK is that good lol.

creed 3 is mostly getting 7-7.5/10 reviews; flash might be good for a superhero movie, but nothing ive seen or read makes me think itll be a masterpiece or anything like that

Has anyone said this is a masterpiece? Maybe @ViewerAnoncan correct me if I’m wrong but I believe all that was said was it was DC best tested movie since the dark knight, not that it’s as good as the dark knight or anything. I think it was just a crowd pleaser and that’s probably why the movie tested well and WB is confident. Maybe some sites have ran some BS articles but all I remember reading is WB is confident in this and it has tested well.

What if... Flash OD over Shazam 2 DOM?

All this stuff with Shazam is so depressing, I like Sandberg a lot, feel bad for him that all these changes happened and WB has other focuses now. I hope the movie turns out well and it can at least make like 100m domestic.
